I turned off facing pages, but when I move a page, it shows up as a facing page!?! Help!

Hello! Fairly long term and proficient user of InDesign, but suddenly experiencing something I can't figure out how to fix.

I set up my document WITHOUT facing pages.

But when I went to move a page in the page order, it will NOT put it in the list of pages vertically ... it shows up as a facing page, attached to page 2. I can't figure out

  1. how to make it not a facing page
  2. why this is happening automatically and where to turn that off.

Any thoughts?

Just for concept, "facing pages" controls mostly things to do with the interior page layout (allowing mirror margins, etc.)

Spread control, as above, controls the physical order and sorting of the pages.

So when you turned off facing pages, you did not have these selected in the pages palette. Try it again with these selected or just move the page in the palette with these unselected.
