HI there,I am having issues when using the selection tool to move a content box, usually i could select it, then drag and drop in to place, however now when I try to move the box it will jump to the left of the pointer and I have to awkwardly drag it to position. I hope I have explained this well enough.... any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Adobe world!I have to create an animated "how to" page in InDesign. Therefore, I have to make appear an arrow with a small text on a part of the scree, leave it for a few seconds, then remove it for the next topic. The trouble is that I can only make it appear through an animation, put can't make more on the same object...Any idea?Have a great day!Christian

Everytime I create a new document in InDesign, the underline text STYLE is always on. This is not a text RULE or a HYPERLINK - this is the text STYLE feature. I've tried every trick I can think of (opening a new doc and turning it off, closing the doc with it off, etc...) to turn it off but it will not turn off. If anyone can help me - I would be your bff forever. And while we're on a related subject - is there anyway to set the program so it always opens a new document with the SAME settings all the time? I do a lot of different projects so when the defaults remain from the last document I used - it doesn't help at all with a new document - it actually creates more work for me because I have to turn all these things off again. This doesn't seem to exist in InDesign which is kind of strange since every other program of Adobe's seems to work that way. Any help I can get would be great - thanks.

I am working with InDesign 2025 on a macbookair OS 14.7.1 I have layout document for one of my books that was created some years ago by a designer. I believe they may have been using Quark at that time. I was able to open the file with InDesign 2025 and everything looks as it should be except for one thing. The book is in Japanese and was laid out originally with the text in vertical orientation. Opened now in ID, the vertical line format is correct but the text is facing sideways instead of vertically. Is it possible to change the text direction in an existing document?

Attaching screenshots of a given chapter of a book; one in the Kindle app and one in the Apple Books app. In the Kindle, it shows both "Twenty-Two" above the title and then the number 22 prior to the chapter title. In Apple books, the numerical 22 isn't shown. Why would this be? I'm trying to have the chapter numbers spelled out above the chapter title, but then in the TOC have the chapters numbered like: 1. [Chapter 1 title]2. [Chapter 2 title] This is a reflowable epub.

Hi,I have tried to google the matter but cannot find the answer anywhere. I simply want to view my pages touching each other top against bottom so they form one continuous row. Is this possible somehow.I have gone to preferences-guides and pasteboards and set the vertical margin to 0, but the marked spacing is still there.Please see attached screenshot with spacing I want to remove marked in a red rectangle.

I cannot just open the word file. If I try to copy a part of the text, even several pages it just opens a small text box in Indesign. There must surely be simle way to import the entire content of the word document.

Since yesterday I can no longer move frames via the black arrow. It works with the cursor arrows on my keyboard, but this takes a lot of time (and annoyance)I can adjust the frames, enlarge them, etc.When I try to move it I get a local web page with ....InDesign%20Snippets/Snippet_31DC168C8.idmsIs this a bug or should I check or uncheck something?I have now uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign 25, but this problem still persists in other documents created in InDesign.If anyone knows the answer I would really appreciate it.Tanks Reinoud

What is the shortcut key in InDesign to adjust line spacing in 0.10 points?

When I open the latest Indesign (15.0) I get this screen. How do I get rid of it?

I would like to remove the spaces in front of the closing German quotation marks in a longer text. GREP, however, does not find the closing quotation marks with the expression \p{Pf}. What's wrong?

I am using version 20.1 to design a document in ArabicInstalled version English يدعم العربيةWorld-ready Paragraph composerLanguage set to Arabic Punctuations are appearing on the the opposite side of the sentence, can someone advise. Screenshots below.  

Hoping someone can help me - have searched the forums to no avail.   I was using inDesign with no issues when suddenly I could no longer select and drag objects with the mouse when using the selection tool. However I can select and drag objects with the freeform tool. When I mouse over the object with the selection tool a circle appears in the middle.   I have tried moving a newly created object in a new blank document and still have the same issue. I have reset preferences and even uninstalled and reinstalled inDesign. I am currently running the latest build 19.5 I also deleted all plug ins from Chrome as some people have suggested.   Any ideas would be welcome as it really has messed with my workflow. Please help.  Self-taught novice on InDesign... I create a box, file + place to put an image in it.  If I decide on a different image, I used to be able to just select the box again, file + place to replace the image.  It won't do that anymore!  I can't find the answer anywhere.  There are no layers, nothing fancy, just a jpeg over another jpeg.

I am making a very long document for work and when I bold the first word of something in a bulleted or numbered list, the bullet or number bolds too. It's just the first word of the sentence I need bolded, the rest is unbolded.Please help if someone knowThanks in advance 

I am shocked and terrified that the latest version of InDesign CC is not allowing me to drag an image from a folder onto an image in my layout and have it automatically swap. Please tell me I am doing something wrong. This is a critical feature. Help!!!!

I have been trying to format a reflowable epub from InDesign. I set styles, anchored images and did everything required to produce a good quality epub. When I preview it on Kindle Previewer it looks immaculate. When I shared the file (and exported it to azw3 and mobi as per my client request) with my client, the response was that the file looked scrambled, the text had no formatting (indents and italics) and some of the links were not working. Some of the images were also not the original size (though I set a size and they look fine in Kindle Previewer). Is there anything I am missing? My client previews the files using his Kindle on his tablet and PC. He seeks to publish the book on various platforms - from KDP to Ingramspark and else... Do I need to "clean the CSS" when trying to export an epub to a azw3 or other format (I am doing this using Sigil or Calibre). My main confusion stems from the fact that I am seeing a perfectly formatted file and my client has a totally

Hi gang,   I cannot find specific info about the InDesign 20.1 release. Specifically, what version of QR code does ID now support? (I just made one that seems to support 3.0. Wiki says that there is also a version 4, a version 10, a version 25, and a version 40) Is the accented letter issue fixed? Is this accomplishing any improved compatibility with iPhones?

The first one is:Empty cells must be placeholder to generate numbering, is there a way to save time, such as not using placeholder.I am using very fine space ( ~|) for placeholder.The second is:A text box with multiple tables, how to set up, so that each table is numbered from 1.Instead of continuing the numbering from the previous one.It would be possible to do this by building a separate paragraph style for each one, but that's not practical.  Thank you very much.
