Ever since I updated Indesign it has been acting weird, If I try select a bounding box, it has a delay and then shifts it a bit, especially if I try edit within a bounding box. is there something i am doing wrong? or doesnt anyone else have this issue?I attached a video to help show what is happening

how to have current and next page numberes in the current page, eg. instead of having number 1 in page 1 and 2 in page 2, having 1/2 in page one and nothing in page 2

Brand new to C++ Plug In Development and trying to get the SDK Samples to run. Using:Indesign SDK 20.0.0.95Indesign Debug Version 20.0.1DVisual Studio 17.9.6 Can only get the "BasicLocalization" project to compile and run. The handful of other samples  "WriteFishPrice, BasicDialog..." I tried all encounter the same build error of "_MAX_INT_DIG:undeclared identifier" in xlocnum_back_vs2022_17_1.h. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

Recently, I've noticed that InDesign is setting text boxes to automatically auto-fit content when I resize them.  It doesn't mesh with my flow.  How do I turn this setting off?  I'm tiring of constantly selecting objects and disabling them.  TIring of accidentally scaling images disproportionally.  Please note:  I know how to turn auto-fitting off.  What I want to do is make sure it is not on when I add a new frame.

One of InDesign's few persistent serious bugs affects indexing large numbers of occurrences of a word in long documents. The first few occurrences are tagged perfectly, to the immediate left of the first letter of the word, but from then on the tags start getting placed further and further to the right of this position. After a while the tags land up in the word following the one to be indexed, then the word after that, and so on. The rightward drift gets worse and worse with every occurrence, even going into the paragraph after the word to be indexed. All the obvious workarounds I have tried are annoyingly time-consuming.I am very angry that Adobe deducts money from my bank account every month supposedly to finance ongoing development and bug-fixing, yet this serious bug has never been attended to.It seems unlikely there is a workaround that actually saves time instead of wasting it. The only real solution would be for Adobe to finally correct their own very annoying programming error

I am rather new to InDesign, but I have been trying to test out the share for review function and using comments in the asset that is shared on the web.My test comments using any of the markers (pin, highlight, strikethrough, replace text, and draw) do not display the markers themselves in InDesign. When clicking on the comment in the Review window in InDesign, the text is sometimes highlighted, but gives no other visual indication as to what the comment is.These comments sometimes show as "unmapped" also, but seem to vary for no particular reason. They're currently mapped to a spread now though.Attached two screenshots of web view and InDesign view.Thank you,Nick

I have a new work computer which was upgraded partly due to belieiving 8gb of Ram wasn't enough to run Adobe apps (2024 Macbook Pro M4 Pro 48GB). I predomantly need to use Indesign and have spent the last week or two messing around with signing in/out restarts, trying to download files, viewing actiivity monitor, Adobe support calls. Most importantly I'm not getting any work done and it's stresssing me out.Should I try to install the previous IOS?The worst part is that I can't access the cloud docs after I've spent the last few months migrating my files there. It's driving me crazy! Please help. 

Hi,  I updated to InDesign 2025 yesterday and have noticed that since then I can only undo approximately 5/6 times. When I have the history panel open i can see that as soon as I've done 5/6 actions all the history disappears.    I've reset my preferences and can't seem to find a solution.    Thanks     <Title renamed by MOD>    

Hi, I weird problem with fonts in indesign book I created. On my computer everything seems fine, on amazon preview everything seems fine but when I ordered proof print it has unprinted polygons in some places. What can cause it? And how I can fix it before final publishing?

For some reason, I cannot change the color of text or objects in InDesign CC. The options are not grayed out but when you select a different color, it goes right back to the previous color without change. I am running Mojave 10.14.2 on my Mac with the other CC Adobe apps. I’ve tried changing colors in all kinds of files (both new and old) and still cannot make any kind of changes to the swatches. All I can do is to create a new color whenever I need to colorize something. I can't even make adjustments to these colors I create either. Once the color has been set, there's nothing you can do but create yet another color.I found a post about this issue but the suggestion to dump the preferences doesn't seem to help--both manually and automatically. I also tried uninstalling the app and then re-installing it from the Cloud. But that doesn't seem to matter either. Please help. This is extremely frustrating!

Hello everyone, I'm wondering if it's possible that I can myself add comments on a document I'm working on and will share for review - using the Review function in InDesign. As soon as I share the document to my client, he is able to add comments. I like to do that myself also. So I can explain certain changes and descionsions made. But it seems not possible. Any suggestions? Thx!

I have a whole bunch of text where the punctuation got messed up and the commas and periods are at the start of the line/paragraph, instead of the end. I have the same issue with ... but those are rare.I'm looking for a script or a trick to fix all the text at once.

Hi,I really need your help with something. I am trying to create a recipe book, and before that I made some tests. I need margins and bleed. I tried to create some forms, but when I export it the result is not as it's supposed to be at. I also imported it to KDP to check the result, and after 19 versions and tests I still didn't find the solution. The forms seem to overlap, and change position. I don't even understand how it's possible. I use adobe for a few years now but I am a beginner on Indesign. I did checked the "use document bleed parameter" (or something like that, my Indesign is not in english) when export. My kingdom for a solution 

Hey,I am working on my first book layout in InDesign. Which paragraph alignment is most common for a nonfiction book? It seems like "Justify with last line aligned left" would be the standard, but I wanted to double-check.Thank you very much for any help!

Yesterday I was working on that file and everything is okay I even export it the PDF and I saved it. Today when I open the file I got that error and the Indesign just crashed and show that "The file is damaged (Error Code:3).Have anyone experienced this before.I'll submit the crash report for more detail.

I have been struggling with working on all files created by a previous version of Indd. All the links appear to be working when in the links pannel. When I try to manually relink the files I get this pop up and am not able to edit, change or link any new files. Some things I have done and tried that have not resolved the issue:Installed macOS SequoiaUninstall and reinstall InddRestarted computerSaved file in another locationSaved the file as IDMLTried packaging the file but it would not package the file since the links could not be found I could really use some help troubleshooting!

I have used Adobe InDesign many times before, to create catalogs, booklets, posters, and other print material. I have never had this issue before. I have not used the program for about 6 months, and have since gotten a new laptop. I am wondering if this is possibly a glitch on InDesigns end from a new update. I have created a print ready PDF in CMYK color format, but when I export to PDF and open it in Acrobat, the colors are vibrant, which I assume are RGB colors.  A bit more information...- I have exported one page as a JPEG, and the CMYK colors are accurate as they appear in my InDesign workspace. - All of the swatches used in InDesign are set to CMYK- Transparency blend space is set to Document CMYK- The file is set to print in document setup- All of the Illustrator graphics I use in the InDesign file were made in CMYK color mode in Illustrator. The individual swatches are also set to CMYK in Illustrator.- I have tried exporting as [high quality print] pres
