Linking Content Headings to bring you to what page they are on

I have seen a document where I can click on the content headings and it will automatically bring me to that page on the PDF

Is this something that can be done in indesign and if so does anyone have any useful steps or information

Thanks

Aidan

Yes, but it could be done by 2 items in the PDF.

  1. A Table Of Contents. Use InDesign's TOC utility to create a page or area will it will appear in the document. Then export to PDF (Interactive). The PDF will have a clickable TOC that will take users to the headings listed in it.
    See Adobe's online help/tutorial at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/creating-table-contents.html
  2. In Acrobat, PDFs can show the Bookmarks panel that does the same thing; lets users click on a bookmark and go to that heading. Again, export from InDesign to PDF (Interactive).
    See Adobe's online help/tutorial at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/bookmarks.html
