4k BT.2020 HLG mp4 video doesn't import on macos, but plays fine with quicktime or vlc

I'm trying to import video captured on my Pixel 8 Pro into Lightroom Classic. Previews are not displayed on the import screen, and if I try and import anyway, I see an error "The movie files contain no video frames. (1)".  I can import video files from the same phone with other configurations. I'm attaching a screenshot displaying info from 2 .mp4 files. The one on the left fails to import, while the one on the right works fine. Both play fine with QuickTime Player or VLC on the same computer. OS and LRC and other Adobe programs all up to date.
