1) my scans are bmp and don't open in PS 2) How to see ANSWERS to questions in this forum?

I came here because when I scan it makes bmp and does not appear in Photoshop, like it used to do with my other scanner, and my Photoshop won't see or open bmps.

My only option in PS is Import/WIA Support, but there are no options that allow me to chose file type, etc. And when I scan it creates a bitmap in a subfolder rather than opening the image in Photoshop.

BUT when I search this website and find similar quesitons, and see someone credited with the "best answer" THERE ARE NO ANSWERS!!!

When I browse these forums I see the comment icon with the number of responses, and can read them. But when searching the forums the search results never include the comment icon so there is no way to see answers.

What is the point of letting people search for previous questions if you do not also include the resolutions?
