Alpha channel and all settings are greyed out when saving as PNG or TGA

Made a simple lower third, tried saving as a png and a tga, alpha channel was and is present....yet when I go to save as, it is all greyed otu and unchecked. What gives??

If you have transparency in the image already (the checkerboard pattern) you don't need a separate alpha channel; saving as PNG will preserve the transparency.
