Brushes stuck in Photoshop 2020, how do I transfer them over?

I have changed laptops and I thought I had exported and backed-up my brushes but I unfornately hadn't. I have a cloud backup of my mac library though. I have photoshop 2021 installed on the new computer (mac) and I downloaded the oldest backup of my mac library where I'm sure I had my brushes.

I swapped the ps settings folder under library - preferences for ps 2021 and the brushes I had created weren't there.

I also have a ps 2020 version which I would like to swap out so I can export my created brushes and import them into ps 2021.

Now adobe has released ps 2022 and I cant download ps 2020 anymore as there are only 2 versions availabe at any given time.

Is there a download to ps 2020 so I can export the brushes or can I go about this some other way?

Ok, I've solved it.

I replaced the Ps 2021 folder and opened the application - no customized brushes.

I then replaced the entire Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop 2021 settings folder and restarted my computer, opened the application and boom, theyre there !

so turning it off and on again was the solution, lol

Hope this helps someone else

Hi, the Brushes.PSP lists the brushes, but I am not sure that it contains the brushes. I'd check in the downloads folder.

Brushes - Contains the list of all the brushes loaded in the Brushes panel. Brushes.psp Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/
Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings

from: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/preference-file-names-locations-photoshop.html

If you had user created brushes, were they saved?

So that's what I replaced- [version] being Ps 2021, and there were some brushes that I downloaded to customize, but not my custom brushes.

I know that I had saved the the custom brushes at end 2019 at the very least, and I have a backup containing a Ps 2019 and Ps 2020 settings folder that I would like to load but I don't have Ps 2019 or Ps 2020 installed.
