Everytime I open Photoshop all my preferences are reset. Everything reverts back to factory setting

Everytime I open and close Photoshop along with all the other Creative Cloud Apps, all my saved layouts and Plug-ins, favorited fonts etc are all reset back to factory setting, having to constantly re-install everything 1 by 1. Nothing will stay saved the way it is. Everytime I install the app from Creative Cloud, once i close the program it disapears from creative cloud app which makes me need to re-install everytime i want to use.

Some of my problems listed below:

-Photoshop and Premiere and all the other apps are reset after opening apps every time

-Fonts favorite list is reset and wiped to nothing after opening app each time

-Photoshop plug-ins and preferences are reset after opening each time

-Psd Files won’t open photoshop when clicking on file

-Apps on creative cloud will say “Install” when I already have apps like photoshop etc installed on hard drive

-I need to install the app on Creative Cloud every time I close app and want to use it

-Installed Effect Presets on Premiere pro will reset after closing application like photoshop

-I lost all my Presets, Fonts, Layouts etc after using same layout for over 4 years

I have contacted the adobe support chat & they were no help, they had me schedule a call with senior support team to which they never called me a time agreed upon.

I use MacOS Version 14.6.1

And all Adobe apps are up to date Photoshop is version 25.11

I have given all the apps full disk access etc but everything keeps resetting

Im really losing hope if anyone has any suggestions

@Krew Visuals this appears to be a permissions issue with the system folders. Are you set up as an administrator on your account (on the Mac not Adobe)?

Also to add onto a bunch of my other endless problems right now, My External hardrive keeps showing the same amount of space as my Internal Hardrive when changing the scratch disk settings, when clearly on the left I have WAY more space available on my external drive

Heya -

first off sorry to say but I do not have a solution. I just wanted to bump this thread and give you some solidarity because I have one user that is in the exact same boat.

Running MacOS 14.6, Photoshop 2024 with Version 25.11.0
I gave all the Apps Full-Disk Access, tried cleaning up the presets and preferences folders in every nook and cranny and tried to save them with Documents open, without Documents open etc.
All workspaces and preferences are gone after closing the App and restarting the App again. Resetting Preferences on Quit is not checked, and there are neither crashes of the App nor the OS.

Did you have more luck maybe?

I had this happen a long time ago. It has not happened recently. Can you try setting up a new user account on the computer (not a guest) and see if the problem persists with the new user account? If it doesn't then I would recommend migrating and moving important documents from your old user account to the new one. In the past I have seen issues with migrations that can only sometimes be remedied by starting new such as with a new user account on the Mac.
