Hi,

Anyone know how to create a publisher-ready 300dpi PDF from a PSD file in Photoshop 8?  I did it five years ago, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how I did it and also can't find instructions online.

Thanks!

Chris

Wow. This post made me travel back in time. ¡Photoshop 8!

In this case, maybe is a good idea to ask your print provider if you can send the original PSD file.

Thanks Marlon, but PSD won't work. I'm working off this old verison because 99% of the time I only use Photoshop for my website pics and version 8 is more than sufficient. Cheers.

Thanks Barbara, but that didn't address the issue. I appreciate the effort though. Cheers.

Photoshop 8 is nearly 20 years old, so who knows!

With recent versions, you would ensure your image has a resolution of around 300PPI and Save the document as a Photoshop PDF and from the subsequent Adobe PDF Preset drop-down menu, you'd select the type of PDF specified by your printer (e.g. PDF/X-4).

Doesn't address the issue, but thanks. I was able to do this in the past, but I can't figure out how and, as mentioned, I'm unable to find instructions online addressing it (no doubt because of the age of my version).
