How to go back in the photoshop story

I made numerous changes to the file, the last change made the previous story and the very laborious changes made so far disappear. Is there a way to go back i tried with cmd+z but it was not possible. How do I see the story before the last change? It's possible?

Hi @antonio_idini check your history panel - do you see your steps in there? Did you save and close the document? History does not save with the file.

Thank you Kevin I think I understand where my mistake was. I went back in my story and created a new level from there so I lost all the changes I made
