How to reduce the size of a .tif file without reducing the physical size?

I am having issues reducing the size of a few aerial .tif files (with respective .tfw), but they need to remain the same physical size. These .tif files are approximately 3-4 gbs and I would like to get them down to a fraction of that. What would be the best way to approach this?

That's a gigantic file by any measure! 103 000 x 22 000 pixels is so far beyond any normal use case, that I suggest you just start by accepting the size. Fighting this is a lost cause. This will never be anything like a "normal" file size whatever you do.

Save as PSB, which for all practical purposes has unlimited file size. TIFF has a 4GB limit, and if you go over that you're stuck.

Are your images currently saved with any compression? What are the pixel dimension and bit depth of your images, and do they have any "extra" channels?

They were saved with LZW compression. The pixel dimensions are on a scale of 22000px by 103206px, all files are approximately the same dimensions. The bit depth is 8 bits/channel on RGB color (3 total channels, no extras).

It won't be necessary to print in color, so I think I may try changing to gray scale and using ZIP compression.
