SOS! Trying to export from Photoshop in 1080x1350 but not working!

Hello world!

So I'm new to lightroom and photoshop and have been trying to export a photo from Photoshop to put it on Instagram. Every tutorial I've watched says convert the image size to 1080x1350; or rather just 1080 and it converts the height to 1350 automatically. However, every time I type 1080 into the box it changes the height to 864. I tried to toggle the little keychain thing and enter it in manually but then that gives me a super squished image when it resizes. Has anyone else had this issue? I've also tried resetting my photoshop settings and all that stuff and it hasn't helped. I usually open photoshop via lightroom by importing my RAW files to lightroom then clicking "edit in photoshop." could there be something wonky in my lightroom settings that affects my ability to resize the image in photoshop? Any and all feedback would be super helpful!

You need to crop your image to fit the aspect ratio so you can actually create an image at the right size. Look for tutorials on cropping to a specific size.

Cropping a narrow aspect ratio image to a wide aspect ratio i,ages does not result with a image with an acceptable composition too much image content will bet last.

Yeah, I agree, there's no issue here that warrants a crop if the image doesn't work that way. The 'advise' of a set of pixels height and width is goofy and Photoshop is doing the right thing, reporting a differing value without a crop and there's no reason the OP should worry about this.

Well that's fine, your aspect ratio doesn't 'fit' the (silly advise) that states "convert the image size to 1080x1350"
