Unable to open Sony A7S II Raw files in CS6 [was: Camera Raw 9.1.1 not working for Bridge CS6 or Photoshop CS6]

I've tried installing Camera Raw 9.1.1 several times.  Bridge CS6 cannot open Raw files from my Sony A7S II.  Photoshop CS6 doesn't now recognize the files.

The latest version I have working is Camera Raw 7.  When 9.1.1 didn't work, I tried 8.5 but that didn't work either.  My older Camera Raw plugins are found in HD MacIntosh/Library/Application support/Adobe.  There is nothing there for 9.1.1 or 8.5 and a search of the hard drive does not come up with anything.

My Mac OS is High Sierra.

    Hi MConnolly,

The minimum Camera Raw version required to open Sony A7S II raw files is 9.2 or above, please look here for more info: Cameras supported by Camera Raw

However, you can use the Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to dng format and then you'll be able to open them in Photoshop and Bridge. Adobe Digital Negative Converter

    Regards,

On this Adobe page:Camera Raw plug-in installer

    I don't see 9.2 in this list.

On that page, 9.1.1 is recommended for CS6

What Sahil is saying is that the Sony a7sII requires ACR 9.2 or higher. But Photoshop CS6 can only run ACR up to 9.1.1. Newer ACR versions won't install.

The DNG converter is your only option if you don't want to update Photoshop to a current version.
