Can't view the media I just imported - Organizer 2023 Mac

I recently purchased Elements 2023 Mac version. When I import from a folder on my computer it says it's done but I still see No Media. If I try to import again, it says the photos are already in the catalog. Under view I have all media types and show hidden files. The photos I am importing are a mix of jpg and pdd. I had Elements 2018 which worked fine. I didn't want to import the 2018 catalog, I wanted to start fresh. Thank you very much for your help.

Are you selecting a folder in the Folder panel? If so, you may be selecting an empty folder? Is there any message in the grid? And what happens if you click the All Media button?
