Organizer stopped working

I can't use Organizer at all, though I can use Elements2018. I haven't used Organizer for a few weeks. Only two things have changed during this time: Installed MS Office; Windows Update on Jan 4 after KB4056892 (OS Build 16299.192), which I believe was supposed to address the Meltdown and Spectre issue.

In the past, other things have broken after a windows update; don't know if it is related.

Bottom line, I can no longer use Organizer. Please advise.

PS for some reason I was not able to longin as before, so I'm starting out from scratch today it seems. However, I'm made several posts in this forum since I bought PSE2018.

    Here's how to fix:

1- Rename the following two files:

    psa.prf to psa_old.prf

    status.dat to status_old.dat

    2- Restart Elements/Organizer

Try this if the link in my previous post doesn't work:

    Elements Organizer crashes at launch

Update: I don't know for sure, but it's my best guess, is that when I uninstalled PSE, I kept unchecked to keep the program preferences. I think if I had deleted the preferences at the time of the uninstall, the psa.prf  and status.da files would not have to be renamed.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled PS Elements. I've deleted the preferences files.

Organizer still does not work, plus it freezes Elements when I try to close it.

Still waiting for suggestions. Thank you.

I found the answer! Did a net search, found and tried the following, and it worked!!

    1- Rename the following files:

    psa.prf to psa_old.prf

    status.dat to status_old.dat

    2- Restart Elements/Organizer

Here's the info for both Mac and PC users.
