HiI've had Premiere Elements 18 on my machine for about 3 months and it's been absolutely fine until a couple of days ago.The problem now is that playback in the time line goes all choppy once I start trimming and deleting parts of the clip. However the clip plays smooth until I start the trimming etc.I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling PRE but that hasn't made any difference.A few days ago I installed Lightworks and then uninstalled it again - could this have been the problem? Does anyone know how to fix this?ThanksJonathan

Hello, I have made several videos now in Adobe Premiere Elements and all of them have this same issue.I can start a new project, import, edit and export project. But if I do not finish it in one sitting ; if I save it and close the program, upon reloading the program it will not re open I have tried all of my back up's and the auto saves, I continue to get the error - a unknown error occurred while opening the project. I have the slightest idea of what to do . Thanks for any help.

How can I access my pictures when they are on a separate drive? In order to free up disk space on my C:\ drive , I moved my picture files to a separate drive.

My apologies if this has been answered before.  I searched the forum and couldn't find an answer to my specific query. I am using Premiere Elements 2018. This is a new experience for me.  I have some experience of audio editing but none whatsoever in video editing.I have a short clip of my daughter riding a horse around a small paddock.  It lasts just over a minute.  I would like to edit it so that it fits a favourite song of hers which is just under three-and-a-half minutes long. How would I do this, please? Specifically, how do I merge clips together, and in such a way that the cut/join is leat apparent?Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

adobe pre cc 2018 amd rx 580 is not working pls help me!

I recently had to buy a new laptop.  Then, I purchased the new Photo elements premiere.  It is having codec problems.  Now you are telling people to download an older version.   This is very wrong.  I have always loved this program.  I have been upgrading since you first came out.  Now I am angry.  If you are telling us to use an older version then I want a refund.  No sense in me having this version if it is not going to work.  I don't have patients in figuring out how to make it work or downloading old versions.

In PE 14 I have an audio mp3 file which I have used several times in different projects without a problem.  PE has now abruptly stopped even recognizing this file when I try to import it via Add Media followed by Files & Folders on the PC.  It just doesn't show up in the list of files when I navigate to the relevant folder.I have tried converting the file to a different format (WAV) but the problem remains the same.  I then altered the default progam the file opens with from iTunes to PE14. In that case opening the file does cause it to be opened in PE14 as a brand new project.  That is unsatisfactory because I want to import it into an existing project.Any ideas gratefully received

Hi,I have deleted the beginning of a clip then applied a cross dissolve transition between that clip and the one before it. But now when I play it back, the deleted portion from the beginning of the clip is partially showing during playback. Any ideas how to resolve this?Thanks,Scott

I have a bunch of .webm files that I would like to edit using Adobe Premiere Elements, but cannot open them.Is this possible? and if not can we please have a patch to allow this ubiquitous format to be used?(I do realise the work around of converting the .webm files but would rather like to avoid that)

RE: Windows 10 64-bit; Premiere Elements 2018In earlier versions of Premiere Elements, I recall being able to transform a clip (when animating it) by skewing its appearance into an evolving faux perspective using skew. I'm pretty sure it was in the Motion effects panel. Where has skew gotten placed (or replaced) in Premiere Elements 2018?

Hey EveryoneI started making a video in the premier elements 2018 free trial. After getting most of it done, I realized I had access to the full 2015 premier elements version. When i try to open my video in the older premier elements, I get a message saying that an unknown error occurred while opening the project. I have no special effects in my 2018 video. All I did was cropping of many videos. If possible, I would like to continue my editing in the full 2015 version of the software.Any idea how I can open this new video in the older software paid version?Thanks!

Hi all.Working with Elements 10 on a DVD with Menu's. I used a still photo for the main menu and 2 scene menu's. Added audio to the main menuand scene menu's via an mp3. I don't see this on the preview but after the DVD is burned or exported to a Folder and burned, when the audio track on the main menu or scene menu ends, the screen blanks out and re-loads when the audio track starts over? I checked the box to use a standard transition ect under the audio selection menu. Otherwise every thing looks good.ThanksMike D.

I'm new to this program---does it support editing of 4K video and outputting/saving 4K video?  Does it supoprt h.265?  what file types can be outputted to play on other computers, youtube, etc?Thank you so much!!

I purchased this application from the apple app store for 150 dollars and now the only thing in the application that works is the organizer and nothing else. When I open the application and try to click on either photo editor or video editor, A notification pops up saying " PLEASE DO NOT LAUNCH THIS APPLICATION FROM WITHIN THIS APPLICATION PACKAGE. INSTEAD PLEASE LAUNCH FROM YOUR APPLICATIONS FOLDER" I open the entire abobe app from my application folder. I contacted apple and they told me to erase and redownload the application, I did and the same thing happens.

So,I can only seem to save my edited video in .prelNo other save file options come up,and that is not at all handy,because Youtube doesn't support .prel If,and how would I be able to save/convert the video into a Youtube-supported file type?

Hello,  my premiere  elements 15 is no longer giving me the option to export my videos. To clarify what I'm explaining I mean there is no button to highlight export or create the video.  It gives the option to choose your output, but you cannot export the video. My question is how do I correct my applications so it shows the export option button? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm finally going to upgrade from Premier Elements 5 to Premiere Elements 2018.  Is this an easy upgrade or are there any problems transferring all my catalog data, etc.?  Is there a best way to go about this? 

I am using APE15. I have a fairly good cam, a Panasonic AG-AC30. I record in MP4 1920 x 1080 at 50 fps. Bitrate is 49790kbps. Playing the MP4 on my PC seems to be fine. There is a very slight stuttering on panning but this I believe to be normal, the faster the pan, the worse stutter, but perfectly watchable. After I have completed editing I render and save to MP4 H264 1920 x 1080 25fps bitrate 15Mbps. Playing the resulting video either on monitor or TV, there is a very uncomfortable chopping on horizontal and vertical pans and zooms. The faster the pan or zoom, the worse it gets. Unlike the original MP4, the stutter is unacceptable. It is as if several frames are being dropped every second.Am I doing something wrong? I have never noticed this on previous cams but I'm sure it is not the cam because the original files play OK. I wondered if it was something to do with the 50fps recording versus the 25fps render but not sure. Is it the recording settings at fault, or the APE settings? Th

RE: Windows 10, 64-bit; Premiere Elements 2018I've got a lot of animation effects all taking place at the same time on several different clips and would like to keep the keyframes panel; e.g., Applied Effects, Motion, always open. The problem I keep running into is the panel closes as soon as I change focus to another clip and I end up spending half my time reopening the panel. Is there some way of forcing the panel to stay open?

I'm looking for a new Action CAM & was recently alarmed by Stev's revelation that the GoPro Hero 6 Black uses the H.265 CODEC which is not supported by PE!I use Premier Elements 14 on a WIN 7 PC.My current Camcorder is a Panasonic V727  (uses AVCHD).I also have a DJI Phanton 3 Standard which usued MPEG-4.Both work fine with PE14.  I have also included video from a GoPro Hero 5 into my video.I found a list of File Formats as supported by Premier Elements (15 to 10).I'm not necessarily wanting to buy into the GoPro range as there are numerous other Action CAMs for occasional use.But it seems difficult to find which CODEC each offering uses (so far only found that the Victure Action CAMs use H.264 which is OK).I'd like to try to avoid buying a camera & then finding that the resulting video cannot be processed by PE14.I've tried searching in Google with not much luck - any suggestions how to easily find which CODECs are used?Or is H.265 so rare that only the latest GoPros

I'm in the U.K. and have only recently started learning about and using Premiere Elements 2018.I started work on a new editing project recently and felt sure that I had set up the initial configuration for AVCHD FULL HD 1080 25fps but I only discover now, after completing the job to my satisfaction and burning it onto a DVD, that I've produced the whole 35 minute long video as a NTSC 30fps video rather than a PAL one.I can view the DVD perfectly on my PC but the DVD player connected to my TV refuses to play it, reporting that it is 'incompatible'.  I do need to have it in PAL HD format in order that I can send copies to other members of the family.As punishment for my stupid mistake (yes, I should have RTFM more carefully), I'm fully expecting that I'll have to start the job again completely from scratch, which will take me many hours, but thought I'd first ask if anyone in this forum can tell me of a speedier way to re-produce or re-edit the same series of video clips and then bu

Hi! I have been using Premiere Elements for a long time now, and I have succesfully edited videoclips with the program. Now I have a problem. I wanted to make a new video clip, so I imported some videofiles and a music file into premiere elements. When I put the files in the timeline, I noticed there was no sound and the clip was in slowmotion. When I clicked on the clip in the import section, it is the same thing. I opened an old premiere elements file with a complete filmclip that I made, and also that file suddenly only had slowmotion movie without any sound. this cannot be because of the type of files I am using, because it also doesn't work anymore with videos that I previously made. also I checked for updates, and the program was completely up to date. does someone have any idea how this is possible en how to fix this problem? thank you so much!

I am using APE15.I have been having some video output problems in another post I submitted, but I wonder if initial project settings are the cause, so I'm going back to basics.I have a Panasonic AG-AC30 cam and I can record in MP4, AVCHD or MOV.1. Which is best quality for use in APE? I have been using MP4 1080/50p. AVCHD & MOV also have 1080/50p available but I want MP4 final output.2. In APE New project, which settings should I use in PAL? I was using AVCHD 1080p50 as this is the only 1080p50 option. DSLR 1080p only has 24 or 25 available. Hard Disk only has 1080i as does HDV.3. After editing I then export using Devices/MP4 H264. I assume this is the obvious preset to use?I am after maximum quality for playback on TV regardless of file size or time required.I feel like a novice asking questions like this but I have been videoing for 20 years. Just grasping at straws and questioning what I have always done.

i click on photo editor and a pop up gives me three options, install from DVD, download Trial, Cancel. it has worked fine from last March install 😕😕Thank you, Keith F
