MTS file form Sony HXR-NX80 not importing on Windows

A client of mine has an MTS file form Sony HXR-NX80 that does not want to import in Pr 2022 or Pr2023 on Windows. Works fine in Pr 2022 and 2023 on Mac. Also in Windows it will play fine in other applications like VLC and "Movies & TV".

The behaviour is very much like this guy shows in the video below. No error message, it just stays on "Processing..." or "Open Files..." witht the progress bar going nowhere. Also via Media Browser. I've reinstalled Pr and cleaned the prefs and cache. And unchecked Hardware accelerated decoding and tried the software only Renderer. All no luck.

Note: I know I can transcode the video. Please don't suggest tht. I need to know if there is a way to make these MTS work on my clients Windows system.

@kev_mon any sugestions?

Windows 10 version 22H2

i7, 16GB RAM
Intel or nVidia GPU (no difference)

Pr 23.2.0

Hello @Joost van der Hoeven,

Is your colleague still having this issue? Cleaning up the bugs forum and wanted to check back with you about this. I hope you are well and that the problem is solved.

I'll move your post to the Discussions board while we await your information.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hey Joost!

How are you? Sorry your colleague is having trouble. I searched around and found that removing the Main Concept plug-ins from MediaCore can be one fix.

Launch in the new "Reset Options" dialog box (press Shift on launch), which allows you to temporarily remove plug-ins, then see if Premiere Pro can import as expected. If that is the case, uninstall Main Concept and/or any other third-party "codec packs." I hope that works. Let me know.

Cheers,
Kevin
