adobe recently stopped printing to a standard canon printer pdf files

Recently my graphic artist has become unable to print pdf files to her standard canon printer from adobe suite 20.0 and Catalina 10.15.2 no error messages, the job shows in the printer que for about a second and disappears. Nothing prints. I have tried a reinstall of the printer but had no effect. Suggestions?
