Have you tried with temporarily turning off your anti-virus while trying to connect?

I really do not think I am a computer idiot, but this is surely making me feel like one.  Why does Adobe have to make it so difficult.

Your link says to check if I am able to connect to Adobe servers.  It shows the 2 Logos, so answer is yes.  Why can I not just click to Activate from Acrobat.  No, of course not.  It keeps saying I can't connect, but the tool just proved I am connected.  ENDLESS LOOP, no solution available.

Next suggestion says Activate with Creative Cloud.  Click on Creative Cloud on your Taskbar.  There is no Creative Cloud anywhere on task bar, programs or anywhere.  Another endless loop with no solution.

I need help, please, not another endless loop

do you currently have any creative cloud subscription or trial?

if not, perform each step below that you can.  eg, steps 1 and/or 2 may not be applicable but the others are:

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check to see if you have Adobe PCD folder and SLStore folders* and, if so, delete them

uninstall your acrobat xi

if you have win os, clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

restart your computer

reinstall your acrobat xi and activate with your serial number
