I am having difficulty converting a word form into an editable pdf form using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.   I would like a pdf form that can be filled in without having to go into the adobe form and edit it (which is the only feature set I can find in Adobe Acrobat DC.   Do you know how to do this?

At this point, there is no mechanism to directly save a generic Word document with forms fields to a PDF file with forms fields. You need to open the PDF file in Acrobat and define the forms fields where Word originally had those. Good idea for a new Acrobat feature, though (would probably require hooks from Microsoft for PDFMaker to distinguish forms fields).
