I own Adobe Acrobat Classic.  I got a new computer and when I log in Acrobat it will not let me because it said, my email is in use and can’t use it.  Of course it is in use, it is my email.  How can I log into Acrobat?

Is it a new copy of Acrobat Classic? Or an older version of the software? Adobe ends support of older versions of its Acrobat software on a rolling basis, and over time, closes down the activation servers to older software. If the activation servers are shut down, you will not be able to install older software on any computer — new or old.

Knowing what version of Acrobat Classic you’re trying to install, and what type of system and its operating system, will help us best help you assess your situation.

Thank you Randy for your quick response.  It is a new version, I bought it last year.  It is the Student and Teacher Edition. My new computer is a PC running  Windows 11 version .  It worked great on my old compter which also running Windows 11 version.

If you also have Adobe Creative Cloud installed, you can:

    • Open the Creative Cloud application.
    • Go to the icon at the upper-right of the application window and click on it.
    • If you’re already signed in, it will show your Adobe ID/Email address and about halfway down the menu, you will see the Adobe Account command. Click on that.

This works similarly if you only have Acrobat Classic open. Go to the icon at the top-right, click on it, then click on the hyperlink under your Adobe ID/Email address. You can review your account information if you want, but we’ve really only done this to confirm your account and make sure everything is copacetic.

    • If you don’t know the password to your Adobe Account, get it and keep it handy. If you don’t know it, and can’t get it, Stop Now. Do Not Continue.
    • I'd you do have access to your Adobe ID and password, sign out, then sign back in.

This fixes the issue most of the time. If it doesn’t work for you, come back here and we can try more extreme measures to help.

    Good luck,
