Questions

The following problems that I am reporting, have always existed with the new forum, for all versions of Firefox and Safari on mac.Interestingly, since this is mainly a design and art forum, my only conculsion is that the forum must have been designed to run smoothly on Windows PC browsers, with some lazy work on the mac side? Why this is, is anyones guess. Anyway …1. Conventional mac typing allows for the Option (alt) key, with the left and right arrow keys - the cursor will then skip quickly between words. All applications support this. This essential shortcut is not available on this forum. My main annoyance.2. Sometimes while typing the line just breaks for no reason. It's then sometimes impossible to join the two sections of type with delete. Suggesting that there is some basic problem with the stucture of the type, and the conventional carriage return character. With the last 2 versions (last update yesterday) of Firefox I have had problems with "Server Not Found" or "Unable to Connect" or some other variation.  This happens on 2 computers with 2 different OS.  It usually happens initially when I try to connect to Adobe or some other site.  Once I get a connection to some site, any site, then I can go back and connect with the "Server not found" site just fine.  Seems like it needs to be trained how to work.It is very annoying and wonder if others have experienced this.  I do not like MS Explorer, but am considering a move to another browser.  My wife has gone to Google Chrome (as she inadvertly downloaded it last week) and the "Server not found" problem dissapeared. What browsers are better than Firefox now, or is there some setting I need to tweek?Thanks.

Hi All,I am trying to search in PDF file but getting 0 result. The same query is working fine with *.htm,*.html,*.doc etc... type of documents.I am using Adobe reader 8.2 on Windows Vista SP2. There seems to be no option to attach files in the Reader forum. Is this intentional?

HiI am currently studying IT at college and I am designing a website on dreamweaver but I have created it and it works fine in Internet Explorer but when I open it in Firefox some of the div tags move over to the side. I have used wrapper to keep them from moving about on IE but it doesn't seem to work on Firefox.Can anyone help me out please, I haven't done a website before so I don't know that much about everything.Thanks in advance

If I want bay Adobe 9.0 extended, why have I to pay more than customers in USA, nearly double, in fact because I'm a Norwegian. This I don't like! Adobe did some hefty things many years ago, they made PDF open. This is the successes of Adobe, I think that scarily any software vendor has succeeded as Adobe and it's grounded on freedom and open source (embrace them, they were of the few first), Adobe wouldn't be today without open format.I  don't need the Norwegian version, just need the code page and it has to be  implemented anyway, if the vendor is serious . There is somebody who have to much salary, both in Norway  and USA.If I shall use Adobe, I need documentation, it's in "English -US", so what - this is to dumb and greedy! If I write a script, it¨s English, if I'm so f.... dumb, that I need it in Norwegian, I don't need Adobe, I need help (F... you!)(Anyone here like competition? - or is it better with - you know what it's called, was it? hi there.thanks for taking the time to read this.I am studying web development at university and am looking for some clear information on the pro's and cons of Flash CS4 compared with other multi media platforms. I have chosen MS Silverfox to compare it to as i thought it should be pretty easy but i can't find the info i need. What i need is a full list of all the features on both Flash and Silverlight, I can only find a list of the NEW features on the latest versions of each of these.Can anyone point me i the right direction or a different forum if you think i've come to the wrong place?Any advice would be much appreciated.

So i made a left hand side navigational bar and put it in a table to make it look neat. But now i cant put any text on the right side of the page only underneath it. Any suggestions?

I have put threads on the PDF forum, they told me to put it on Illustrator forum and still know one has an answer, Tried to contact Adobe about this and just got a run around. Can anyone please help?My problem results from when I save my file from Adobe Illustrator to a PDF for printing. After saving from Illustrator to a PDF and proofing it on screen all my gradients and other elements are where I need them to be on the page. But when I upload them to my printing company template all the gradients and so on are not even close to be in the right spot. How can I solve this problem, Is there a new setting in CS4 I need to know? Because I never had this problem with Illustrator CS3.

hello:I have a problems with adobe premier and photoshop… CS4In premier  CS4: I cannot see imported videos (avi, mpg, wmv, etc) I see the icon in the  Time-line but not in the window preview  and with the videos avi i don't have sound, but with the rest yes (the sound works).And Photoshop CS4 I don't have option to use openGL  (adjustments of the GPU).My graphic card is: asus Nvidia Geforce GTS 250.I  did the updates and nothing works. It's incompatible with CS4? I must change it?Thanks!! Which is the correct folder to install new fonts so that the font is accessible to the entire adobe suite of programs.I installed to the C:|Windows|fonts folder, thinking that would make the font accessible to all the programs on my pc,but the abobe programs can't see the font.  (But MS apps   do.)  I don't care much about whether the fonts are availablein MS programs, but I do want to access them in all the adobe programs.

Is it just me, or has the Attach File function disappeared from the lower-left of the forum edit screen? The Toolbar icons still seem to be in place and at last test functioned fine, but Attach File seems to be MIA.Thanks,Hunt

I purchased and installed Helvetica Bold Oblique font this morning and downloaded it to install on my computer. I have @17258182 fonts on my machine, so this isn't my first attempt at installing fonts, but it's certainly been the most annoying and it's exposed Adobe customer support as one of the most incompetent I've dealt with in decades. Let me preface this by saying I've had every version of Adobe Creative Suite software and use the products extensively, but this painfully simple issue of installing ONE FONT has got on my last nerve.So, when attempting to install the font, it errors and provides the following feedback: The file is a 'PFB' file for a type 1 font and cannot be installed directly. Please install the associated 'PFM' file. I've downloaded the font files twice, and neither includes a 'PFM' file. There's a 'PFB' file and 'AFM' file, but no PFB file. (horizontal)I was wondering, if there's any way you can go change the width on the menubokses so each one of them have different sizes?I've tried out, but it won't work for me.Should/can i go make more spry menus?I've made my design in photoshop, and i can't make drop down menus out from the menu pictures i've made, så I have to do a spry menu and some howput the pictures in. Delighted to have found this so-useful framework - the widgets and effects are just what I was looking  for!But I'm going in circles trying to find where to ask questions.  The SPRY webpages are full of useful documentation and examples, but nowhere to exchange information and ask questions.  I also checked Adobe Forums and Adobe Support, but of course they're all about supporting PAID products and I can understand that.Just wanna know where to ask a SPRY question!  I posted a comment on the SPRY Accordian webpage.  I got an email confirming my comment was received, and advising me to go to Adobe Support Forums to get advice from developers or users - but that's all pretty generic stuff, and again there's no obvious place in the Forums to ask about SPRY.  Help!

Is it just me or is Flash CS4 harder than CS3 to use? I just wanted to know. CS3 was so much easier for me. Let me know what you think.Thanks

I used Live Chat earlier this afternoon with some questions I had about my serial number and had a very good experience.  Then, when I later came across some technical issues with installing one program in my Suite, using Live Chat - which I much prefer - was not an option.  So I called the Technical Support line.  Pushed all the right buttons and was thrown into muzak hell for THIRTY minutes after which I hung up.  There are no messages telling you to continue waiting for a technician, there are no messages telling you what your remaining wait times.  Even offering a call-back would be great.  So, assuming I was lost in space somewhere, I hung up and called back, where I waited in Muzak hell again for another 25 minutes until finally someone answered. He was, of course, very difficult to understand, didn't understand anything I was saying...and then he wasn't able to offer me ANY SUPPORT.  He told me to come to the forums!!!  Are you kidding me?

I am using Contribute 3.  Some text is bolded and I would like it not to be.  It seems no matter what I try to do - select and press bold or change the style to normal, I cannot get this to change. I am used to formatting in Word and don't see why this is so difficult. Help would be appreciated.

Before I can ask a question, I need to specify which product I am asking about.  When I start to write Contribute, the answer says something like look under Adobe Contribute.  I don't know see anything under Adobe.Thank you.
