RoboHelp 2020, Responsive HTML5 output. General questions... What impact, if any, does incognito mode have on search for an end user (of Responsive HTML5 output)?What impact, if any, does an end user's browser history (retention, accumulation, erasure) have on search? What happens if a user deletes their browsing history?What impact, if any, does a user's cookie storage have on search? What happens if a user deletes their cookies?What impact, if any, does updating output (changes to existing topics, adding new topics, etc.) have on an end user's search result experience? Also, how does the search function differ (if at all) for Responsive HTML5 output moving from RoboHelp 2017 to 2020?  I believe results used to be (RH 2017) returned, top to bottom, based on how the search term is used in each topic and the frequency with which it appears according to the following priority/hierarchy:topic titleassigned (internally) as keyword of a topicheading 1heading 2headin

Anyone experience this? The output looks fine on Android - matches the mobile preview display perfectly - but unreadably squashed in both Chrome and Safari on iPhones, like this: Anyone have a inkling what could be causing this discrepancy?

With the new RoboHelp 2020 I can no longer simply right-click on a step and change the numbering. Can someone please tell me how to change an ordered list numbering? For Example:1.2. 3.Bullet pointBullet point1. (this should be a 4)

The translation of Bullet and Numbering styles when generating a Word Document do not match the CSS used in the RH2019 project file. Both styles appear to be translated as "Normal" even though they exist in the CSS and are mapped correctly to the Document Template used in creation. Using "Unassigned" has no effect either? How do I get the above styles to display correctly in the Word Document? Thanks in advance.

I understand we can import FM 2019 source to RH 2020. The tool asks to ensure that we have fm 2017 update 2 or later for the import to work.I have FM 2017 currently. Can we not import FM 2017 source into RH 2020?

When I open a RH project, I see the message in the image.When I open the CBT pod or rhbuildtag.apj file, I don't see any such entry. I am not sure why this message appears and how to get rid of it? Any suggestions/thoughts.     

We have an online help and few chapters from the help will also be used in a training guide.We are generating a Word document from RH 2020.What is the best way to use a word template? Any best practice or suggestion here?I tried adding a cover page but it did not show up in the output.Some outputs came out correctly but after I supplied our custom word template now it gives me an error saying Failed to generate printed documentation layout.any tips on bext way to use RH for a clean PDF or Word output so that the manual effort after the word generation is minimal?

I am new to RoboHelp.  I am trying to copy one of the sample files and save it as something I can edit, but I don't see a Save As menu option.  Can this be done in RoboHelp?

I'm using RoboHelp 2015 and updating a file that hasn't been updated in a few years. The result is attached. Is there a simple solution to this?

However, I noticed that under the Zendesk profile the Visible To and Managed By drop-downs do not populate anything in my case. Am I missing something?Is the connection not getting through? I am able to sign in to the portal using the credentials that I provide. I am using a 15 days Zendesk trial account. Would that be an issue?

I'm using a trial of RH 2020 specifically to see how it works with Zendesk. My company already uses Zendesk for other products. I've followed the Adobe instructions on configuring Zendesk as an output. I used my own Zendesk login information; I have administrator permissions in Zendesk. When I try to publish, RH shows a "manage permissions not specified" error message that is something with Zendesk. Can anyone shed some light on what permissions are not specified?

Developing output in RH 2020.1Generating HTML5 merged output in Azure_Blue.Hosting/serving up output on/as IIS website for internal staff. Company-supported/allowed web browsers include Chrome and Edge (Chromium).  Staff report issues performing searches and/or using the output after they clear cookies. For example, one staff member cleared “Cookies and other site data” in Chrome, opened the Help, performed a search, and nothing happened. No results, no pinwheel. She tried refreshing the page and searching again and the same thing happened – no results, no pinwheel. She then received a “Page Unresponsive” message. She selected Wait. Approx 5 minutes after her initial search, the search results appeared. Insight, thoughts, advice, or guidance to pass along on staff clearing cookies (I know the individual favorites function - something we hope to deploy eventually - depend on them, but we're not using that yet)? What about clearing browser history? Thank you

I want to disable the print button in RH 2020 (that appears on the topic page). I'm using the Orange layout. I can see where the print button image is and I guess I could replace the image with a blank white box image? but the functionality would still be there. How would I disable the print functionality completely?

Hello,I am upgrading my RH2019 Classic project to the RH2019 New Interface (V.14).The Browse Sequence arrows appear in the Functionbar in my Skin in the Classic output. But when I upgrade, one arrow appears in the Start Page as usual, but then it disappears when I try to advance forward. When advancing, two arrows should appear, forward and backward. None appear now.  My browse sequence and skin layout in the functionbar seem to be ok.Has anyone had this problem in the past and did you find a solution?Thank you,Ken 

Hi all,I am not sure if this is a bug or if it works as designed. I have a topic that I use in two projects. So, I create and maintain this topic in one project and have it linked into the other project. If I change anything in the topic, I see that I have to sync it in my other project. However, if I change existing images in the source topic, the linked one still uses the old images. Also, newly added images are not taken over to the linked topic.Apparently, the images are being copied into the second project once I include the link, but after that, this folder is no longer updated.Any opinions on this?RegardsKarin

We are currently using RoboHelp 2019 Classic but trying to upgrade to the new UI RoboHelp 2019. The program opens without a problem and my project has successfully converted, but when I try and open the upgraded project my CPU hits 100% and it takes around an hour for the project to successfully open. Our project is large (around 4,000 files) but it opens in RoboHelp 2019 Classic without issue and without taking an hour. I'm fairly sure the issue is on our end since the company has a lot of security precautions in place, but I'm not having a lot of luck narrowing down where the issue is and what I can do to make it go away. Yesterday I noticed there are 5 Adobe RoboHelp 2019 background processes running which use up a lot of my CPU. Can anyone tell me what those background processes do? I'm hoping if I can identify the areas where RoboHelp is having issues, then maybe our help desk can work with me to find a solution.

Hi,I've recently upgraded from RH 2019 to version 20. The online help we were generating used the skin's home page in the output. The name of the project would redirect to the home page upon clicking it as expected. This occured in both the home page view and topic view. Upon upgrading to version 20, the behavior has changed. Now, when clicking the title link at the top of the help while viewing a Topic page, the body of the topic disappears and is replaced by the project title instead of redirecting. See the attached screenshots as an example of the different behavior as well as how the objects are identitied in the browser. Through our own troubleshooting, we've noticed that this behavior occurs on our application when the homepage is "start.htm". We've been using this as our homepage name for a while, so we have a lot of legacy links to this page integrated into our application. Hello everyone. I support an application that usses RoboHelp for it's online help files. We used to have logic built in to our application that was topic sensitive: the RH file that would open when a user clicked on the link to bring them up would correspond to the page the user happened to be on in our UI. That logic was removed from our app some time ago, and the RH files should open on a "Welcome" page by default. However, they are not. They are opening by default on another page within the Table of Contents. When I went in to Webhelp > Content Categories > Content<Default>, there was an old file name in there that nothing to do with the page that was displaying, so I updated it to the current Welcome page file, then saved and generated the files. We then promoted the files to one of our test environments, but it didn't work. The files still open up on the same page as before. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hello, We had a small security run on our application as a part of our security check-up cycle. It was informed to our team (Tech Writing team) that the potential security issue is identified in the online help file generated using Adobe RoboHelp 2019. I have a parent project that's 12 point font in the project, however when it is generated the website is showing a font size of around 9 point at 100%.

We have a couple of existing projects and will have several other projects created in the upcoming months and want to combine the various projects into a single output. Our intent was to use the merged help function in RoboHelp. When attempting to do this, I click on new merge project, select my child projects to merge, click save and generate. The website that the parent project is generated on, the individual child projects aren't showing up on the website page. However, when I generate a child project to my parent project, all of the contents that are in the child project are being shown in the parent project not the individual books.

Hi,    I have been working on a Robohelp project on my PC. The team has now moved to Mac so I've installed a trial version of Robohelp for Mac, so I can continue to work on my project. However, it won't open at all and I continuously receive an 'Application Error'.    Are projects created on PC not compatible with the RH20 Mac version?  Please advise as this is a showstopper for me.  Thanks, Caro

I have 4 buckets, FAQs, KB, Videos, Guides.Right now the default image is displayed for each bucket.Can I add 4 indicative images to show FAQs, KB, Videos, Guides on the home page ToC?

Hi all, I try to compile a responsive HTML5 output that is a subset from a bigger help in the same project.Some of the topics have links to topics that are not in the TOC. Which makes in the end that the complete bigger help is compiled and searchable, even though the TOC doesn't show these topics. PDF output has the option "include referenced topics" which means that if you don't select this, referenced topics that are not in the TOC are not included. That's what I want too. So that links to not-included topics are just unlinked and the topics are indeed not included. I rather don't want to do this with conditions, because then I need to not just add topics to a TOC, but give all of them them conditions to which help they belong as well. Which I had hoped the TOC was for.
