Hello,I recently received a report from one of our partners that the Search feature does not work with Microsoft HTML Help files (CHM) localized in Chinese or Japanese. Some research shows that the issue is likely related to a mix of character and encodings (ANSI) and Windows libraries not registered for computers outside those regions (DLL issues). However, all the articles to resolve these issues appear to be around 10 years old and not applicable to Windows 10.  I have tried the solutions in the old articles anyhow, but still cannot get search to work with Chinese or Japanese CHM files. Is there a modern solution for this issue? I realize CHM is very long in the tooth, but the client software has deep integrations with map IDs, etc., that only work with an embedded CHM. Thank you in advance!

Hi, Everyone. I'm trying to edit the ordered list style. I want to increase vertical spacing between list items. In the styles editor, I click the increase-vertical-space button. And it gives me what I want. (See screenshot, below.) HOWEVER, the period after the number has disappeared. How do I add it back? Thank you! 

We would like to use the Studio frameless skin for our project but we do not want the header, since the generated content will be embedded in our web portal that already has a header of its own.  I have looked at this post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp/is-there-a-way-to-remove-the-header-desktop-completely/m-p/8091667?page=1But the solution offered does not seem to work with frameless skins.Can anyone help me?Thanks.

Is there any schedule of when the first update for RH2020 will be released? While I don't expect it to fix all of my woes, I'm sure some have been addressed. Looking forward to seeing what drops. 

I am using RoboHelp 2019 Classic, and a long-time RoboHelp user.  We had a similar problem before with tic marks and quotes, but this time it's Copyright and Registered Trademark symbols. It appears to be happening only when help gets launched from our company's web application in Chrome. Issue is that direct display of the topic from output or File Explorer is fine, but when launched and displayed from within our application it has the dreaded A^ before the symbol.I do see that in the HTML there is a RoboHelp tag surrounding the symbol - <?rh-symbol_start name="Registered" ?>®<?rh-symbol_end ?>So the symbol appears OK in the project and output - but just NOT from our application.I also tried using the HTML codes, both the number and entity, of "®"  and "®" for registered, within the RH tag.  But these get automatically resolved into the symbols.  And then still display wrong in the application. I have seen other posts similar

Using trial of RH2020 (upgrade from 2017) and it is ... unintuitive and somewhat buggy. Couple of questions/notes based on my experience so far. 1) Related Topics - Where are they in the user interface Standard Toolbar? They appear to have ported over from an upgraded topic, but I don't see any RELATED TOPICS icon in the toolbar. Goes Glossary > See Also > Microcontent. I see mention of "Related Topics" in the help and in posts in this forum, but damned if I can figure out where the icon is to create new related topics. 2) What is it with combining lists and paragraph styles? Say I create an ordered or bulleted list - when I apply a paragraph style TO that list, I get double-paragraphs between each list entry (instead of a single paragraph) in the Author UI. It does appear that you should be applying formatting to the list (not the paragraph), but I'm having trouble aligning the left margin/indent. 3) What is it with upgrades? I click on Help > Check for Up

Hi all,I am using RH2019 new UI, update 14. I am generating a responsive HTML output using a master file with breadcrumbs. Until update 12, my breadcrumb separators had a space in front of them on all "levels" (e. g. Home > First_Folder > Second_Folder > Current_Topic). That is how I want it to look like. Since upddate 13, the space is only applied in front of the first separator after "Home", for the others, the space is missing. My breadcrumb now looks like this: (Home > First_Folder> Second_Folder> Current_Topic). So, the space between "Folder" and the separator is missing. Is there anything I can do to get it back? I have been playing around with the master page, but with no luck so far.Thanks and best regardsKarin 

I need to create a marquee which takes text from an external text file, so that when i change the text in the file, the marquee also changes. the marquee is placed in the header and displays on every page. Ihave no idea how to link to the external file. Any help will be appreciated.thanks.

Hello There Does anyone know why the quality of embedded images (mostly screenshots) is so poor as a result of converting of word file into RoboHelp ? What am I doing wrong. Is there any way to improve them except to manually change the RoboHelp images to the original ones (PNG/BMP ffiles) Please adviceThanksBensi

Hello all, I've worked with RoboHelp before but several years ago and not in RoboHelp 2019. I have looked at some of the tutorials and read about snippets, pop-ups, footnotes and more. Here is essentially what I would like to do and what I've tried.  First of all, this project needs to have several outputs: PDF, browser help, and help on-board a medical device. The latter is quite complicated, but basically it is a modified version of the browser help with search and other functions disabled. Now onto the stumbling block at hand. I have several tables that share the same set of footnotes. I would like to put in a link to each footnote in the table so a user would click on the link and see the footnote without having to scroll to the bottom of the table. It would also be ideal not to display the same set of footnotes ten times (at least in the web help version). However, in a print PDF version, we need to display the footnotes below each table.  Is it possible t

Hello, A quick question to the community: When I generate our help files and we post them, they are available on the www, and catalogued by Google's search engine, etc. My understanding is there is is way to prevent (or at least request that) Google not catelogue these files so they will not appear in open Google searches. Is there some way to flag a project at export to include metadata that prevents search engines from cateloging the content? My thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Hello, I have been working with RH2020 features and output for a new project. One requirement is that in addition to the source English parent project, the help must provide Spanish and Portuguese (BR) child equavilent project. Machine translation has been achieved for both languages based strictly on the English parent project. However, I have yet to figure out how to publish the Portuguese and Spanish versions when I publish the English (assuming the non-english versions are publish at the same time). But, I don't see evidence of that function. In addition, I've tried to publish the non-english versions separately but cannot find the resulting output.  Questions: What is the procedure to publish a project that has machine translated versions?Are the machine translated projects intended to publish along with the "parent" project? If not, how can they be included?If they need to be published separately, how is that performed?What is the recommendation to provide mul

Hi, I'm attempting to upgrade from RH 2019 Classic to RH 2020.  In doing the upgrade, only a portion of Project (htm) files are getting brought into the upgraded project. How can I get my project to upgrade correctly? Thanks!

Hello,Has anyone encountered an issue with RH2020 placing blank box outlines in the place of header images when generating a PDF?I recently switched from RH2019 (windows) to 2020 (Mac).  The project converted correctly but I noticed an issue with header images (company logo) included in my master print page.  The header logo appears in the PDF output in 2019 with no issues. The logo also appears in the master page view and all other images in the guide appear in the PDF. Just to make sure if wasn't an issue with converting the project, I created a brand new project and hit the same error.   I have tried different images, file formats, file locations etc.  The only way I can get the image in the header appear in the PDF output is by pulling it from my website using a full URL opposed to a file in the project. 

Using RH 2019, have been trying to figure out the best way to insert poster images for a videos, without success. Finally, decided to publish with RH 2020 and settled on simply using a text hyperlink next to the video. Issue solved. Best Wishes

HiIs there a way to change the height, logo, background color of the chat window, etc?The Chatbot output only gives three options - General, Content and Dialoglow.   

I asked my team members to update the Robohelp 2019 Classic version to the latest patch 14.0.14. However, it keeps giving the error "We are unable to reach Adobe Server. Please check your internet connectivity and firewall setting. Error Code 113. This is so bugging. We stopped the firewall and it did not help. The problem with the tool itself was enough to bug you and now this error while updating. The existing articles do not seem to be clear enough to understand and take necessary steps.

My project contains captivate demo in the first page and I am not able to view the project in all the browsers. the page keeps flashing, the browsers version which I have. - chrom version Version 84.0.4147.89 (Official Build) (64-bit)- firefox 73.0.1  

Hi, I was creating a welcome page using Robohelp and  I want the Output in HTML but without using any layouts. Can i get a output without a layout?

By the grace of G-d Hello!  On march, I have started a 7 day trial of Adobe Acrobat, planning to finish using the product after the trial period. Upon starting to download the product, I was requested to enter my credit card details, thinking I will be charged only if I continue using the product beyond the trial period. Eventually, I found out that Adobe  charged me for 4 months after I have uninstalled the product. These days I am offering myself for a technical writing position and would like to publish an online help database as portfolio to be visible to potential employers. I am asking if you can provide me a temporary license to your latest version of Robohelp, in value of the sum charged.  Thanks is advance,Meir Kogan

Have been moving chapters and topics around to better organize a book. When I checked a published PDF, the index pages are now out of order (for example, for an index term: 256, 25,190, 20, 22, 26, 80, 15,...). Will I need to create a new index from scratch or is there a way to rebuild the existing index so that page numbers for each index term are reorganized and in ascending order? Any suggestions appreciated.

I created a multilevel style for the bullet. It shows correctly in RH 2019; however, in the output, the space between text and bullet reduces to zero. What is surprising, out of 6 members, 1 person gets the output correctly. The other 5 have spacing issues. Is this a setting on browser?
