Hi, I was creating a welcome page using Robohelp and I want the Output in HTML but without using any layouts. Can i get a output without a layout?
Thinking of writing a custom JavaScript for RH 2020 and wondered if there is a JavaScript API for RH 2020 that would provide object names, functions available, etc.? I think this is the answer I was looking for (from the RH Help Appendix): https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/en/pdf/RoboHelp-Scripting-Reference-2019.pdf
By the grace of G-d Hello! On march, I have started a 7 day trial of Adobe Acrobat, planning to finish using the product after the trial period. Upon starting to download the product, I was requested to enter my credit card details, thinking I will be charged only if I continue using the product beyond the trial period. Eventually, I found out that Adobe charged me for 4 months after I have uninstalled the product. These days I am offering myself for a technical writing position and would like to publish an online help database as portfolio to be visible to potential employers. I am asking if you can provide me a temporary license to your latest version of Robohelp, in value of the sum charged. Thanks is advance,Meir Kogan
Have been moving chapters and topics around to better organize a book. When I checked a published PDF, the index pages are now out of order (for example, for an index term: 256, 25,190, 20, 22, 26, 80, 15,...). Will I need to create a new index from scratch or is there a way to rebuild the existing index so that page numbers for each index term are reorganized and in ascending order? Any suggestions appreciated.
I created a multilevel style for the bullet. It shows correctly in RH 2019; however, in the output, the space between text and bullet reduces to zero. What is surprising, out of 6 members, 1 person gets the output correctly. The other 5 have spacing issues. Is this a setting on browser?
Hi all, My team will be paying another company to do language localization--it's noted this is possible to do with XLIFF files: https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/translation.html. We are interested in 4 languages at the moment, so I was verifying the supported languages via https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/foreign-languages-supported-robohelp.html We are interested in Japanese. It says "We also offer a specific version for Japanese, With Japanese Interface."-- what does that mean? What is the specific version? Does anything special need to be done?
Using RH2020 and wondering if there's a way to disable hyphenation? Upgrading from RH2019 Classis where I apparently (somehow) had it turned off. Not sure if it matters, but using pdf output. Thanks,Rene.
I've published my RH Classic 2019 files. The Breadbrumbs do not show correctly. see image. The breadcrumbs should read: Home>Administration>Manage Centralized Deployment>Download Release>Select Application. I recreated the Master Page (Download Release) and verified that the correct pages are linked to the Master Pages. I also recreated the pages in Project Manager. Can you tell me how to get the rest of the rest of breadcrumbs show/publish?
The "topicfooter.htm" file included with the skin seems to function as a sticky footer (always visible) on the initial navigation pages of the output. When you reach a topic page and the contents panel is open, the footer is not visible and requires scrolling to see it. (Closing the Contents panel causes the footer to display as expected.) Is this working as designed? Concern is that scrolling to view footer will not be obvious to users. Our footer will have links to external user resources and copywrite statement. Also, I have not changed the canned footer file other than color values. Thanks in advance.
I searched a little and found some references on the website of Peter. But it is valid for RH2019 (modern).I don't see how to define how the glossary is shown in the 'microsoft html help output properties'. (weird sentence :-)). I would like to obtain the effect of hoovering above a word giving an instant translation (from the glossary). In the modern interface, you can choose for expanding text/pop up/tooltip. Once my project is finished (a few weeks left) I'll probably migrate the most recent version of RH, I suppose it is no problem there. But now I'm using RH2019 Classic.Best regardsOlivier
We would like to have a date showing the last time a project was updated; I haven't found a field for this -- is there one?
Hi, everyone! I'm kind of at the end of my rope here. This is RoboHelp Classic 2019. We're at v.12, cannot update until we vet the updates, but this issue started before the updates. We have 4 projects, 3 machines with 3 different users. The problem I'm having only happens on one machine. We use svn for source control, using the plugin that Adobe supported in the past for RH Classic. 3 projects using RH Classic 2019. Two projects use responsive output, one chm. The problem occurs in the projects using the responsive output. The problem only occurs on one machine, which we call the "build" machine. Essentially, changes made on the other two machines and checked in. The build machine updates svn, opens the project, runs a build. The changes will appear in the output, but not in search. Additionally, the build machine only respects CBTs in their state at the very first check in of the topic. So, If I remove a build tag that restricts part of a top
Does anyone have any ideas why a few topics which were working, and still work locally, wouldn't work after the project is published? Tested locally the topic displays correctly. On the server the topic appears blank but no error message is displayed. Browsing using file explorer, the file is located in the correct place and double-clicking opens the topic correctly. Double-clicking on the index.htm and navigating through the TOC also opens the topic correctly. Only using the web address results in these topics displaying as blank. There are no error messages when viewing the developer tools. I've tried Chrome, Vivaldi (chromium based) and IE with the same results. I don't have access to Firefox to try. RH2019 Classic. Multiscreen HTML5 (desktop output only).
Hi - I am new to RoboHelp and am trying to decide between an individual, monthly subscription of the software versus purchasing a VIP-level subscription. I understand that the VIP-level subscription includes Enterprise level support; whereas, the Individual, monthly subscription only includes Standard support. I'm trying to get some honest feedback whether the difference in support levels partly justifies the difference in cost between the two subscription types. I am an advanced user of MS Word and have some experience on a far older and inferior online help authoring tool. The ultimate goal for purchasing RoboHelp is to create online help documentation for a web-based software product. I would appreciate experienced users opinions/thoughts. Thanks!
I am new to RH (and html in general) and am in a situation where I am teaching myself how to use it. I have picked up a ton of information using these forums, but I have a few things I cannot figure out.One thing I have been asked to do, is use links/hyperlinks to jump "down" the page to a specific location, i.e. a subtopic, image or definition. I have tried using bookmarks, but it just opens a new window, pop-up or re-opens the topic page in the same window. I just want to screen/window to jump down to a location I set on the existing page. The second is having a "hover-over" that shows a litte window/textbox with the definition of a specific term.I apologize for not knowing the specific terminology to use as I am learning this as I go as well.Thank you for understanding my newbie-ness in advance!
Hi AllIts been 5 years since I used Adobe Robohelp as a technical writer. I am using the 2020 trial version and learning the new layout and features and have the following questions so far:1. I cant find information on how to create a style from scratch can someone please send me the steps?2. When you you actually publish your project?3. Has anyone tried the publishing output to Zendesk and if yes do you like it?4. I was able to merge my older robohelp file and generate it in this version of Robohelp. When i generate my project samples to various outputs, the only one that works with my pop up glossary definitions is webhelp? The other outputs generate and my links work but not my pop up conditional help any idea why?5. Please remind me what Map Id's are and how they are related to conditional text pop up? what is difference between this function and drop down, text, expanding text ,glossary pop up etc? thanksCaryn Droviedrovenes@aol.com
I am using Robohelp Reimagined 2019 and attempting to use a version of the Orange output skin for my project. I am trying to reduce/remove errors and alerts in my browser for accessibility purposes and I do not know how to add alternate text to the images that are used in the skin. In the skin editor, I've tested different options to see if I could type the text into the "Content" field but that did not seem to appear when I was running my accessibility testing plug-in (Wave) on Chrome when viewing the output. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi,Until recently I havne't had an issue, but when using 2019 (classic edition), I have found that all of a sudden the conditional build expression is not sticking in the Printed Documentation output. I can create conditional build expressions, and they remain in the drop down list, but once I generate the output and go back into it the conditional build expression is no longer selected, and worse-- the output isn't retaining that information at all. So if I reopen the output, and generate, there are no conditional build expressions applied and the output shows everything. We have a lot of country specific tags that would turn the help into gibberish if this isn't working. I'm on Windows 10, Office 365, generating PDF and Word (not that that appears to matter).Responsive HTML help is not affected.I've created brand new projects, and the issue remains. This affects multiple projectsThis only appears to have become an issue in the last few weeks. My collegue
Working on a glossary (PDF publishing) and wondered, in order to better style it, if:(1) the glossary term font size, or adding an underline, or another style method, can be done, in order to better distinguish the term from its definition (make it stand out more)?(2) where to customize, if possible, in order to center the name of the Glossary: the default is aligned left margin, which in my publication does not match other page headings/titles which are aligned center.Suggestions welcome. Thank you in advance for your help.BTW: RH 2020 is impressive! Thank you RH team.
Hi, I am trying to create an accessible TOC that can be used by keyboard navigation. Can someone please help how to do it. I created HTML 5 help and most part it works, but when i colapse an expanded topic it stops working. Any help is appreicated. thanks Gagan
Last week I was able to print successfully. I restarted my computer, opened RH2020 and tried printed documentation output again. Still getting the same error message.
Hi everyone, After switching to RH 2020, and moving to another machine, fonts are not being reflected in the PDF output - despite the correct stylesheet being used. It does reflect the colours, and the settings clearly reflect those fonts in use. Does anyone have idea what this could be?
I am currently using RH 2019 release. I have created a paragraph style and applied numbering to them. This is how I set this style: During editing everything is OK as you can see. The style I am referring to is "1. Lista_de_Passos" (Steps in Brazilian Portuguese). The problem is when I export it to HTML5. All topics use the same MasterPage. It is applied here: After exporting my project, the dots do not appear in numbering. It happens to all topics. How do I solve it? I hope anybody here in this forum can help me! Thanks in advance!
I have RoboHelp 2017 and when generating a WebHelp, it freezes after "Full Text Search" portion of the output. How do I fix this in order to generate an output?
Hi guys and girls and everybody else I'm using drop down text boxes quite extensively, to Show / Hide lengthy field descriptions tables. They're a great way to remove screen clutter and hide info which some may not need and which may be glaringly obvious to other users. Trouble is, more often than not, when I view the published help files, they are already expanded, showing the abovementioned lengthy field descriptions tables. (TOP TIP: My workaround has been to annotate all of the drop down links "Show / Hide field descriptions table" so it looks like I've done it on purpose 🙂 ) I've tried various things to get them to close, including physically closing them and re-opening the help; checking they weren't "expanded" when I last saved the page or published. And a few freaky things involving chicken sacrifices and dancing naked in the garden at midnight. But all to no avail. Has anybody else experienced this issue and is there a fix? Am I doing something wrong
