I'm using RH 2019.When I generate responsive HTML5, an error occurs.I can't see any error log. How can I do solve it?
I've just upgraded my project to RoboHelp 2019, update 14 (not Classic). I use a lot of condition tags to designate "flavors" of our software applications, but only a few TOCs. For example, InformaCast comes in three "flavors:" Basic, Adv CUCM, and Adv HRE; however, I only have one TOC. In past versions of RH (including RH 2019 Classic), topics that were excluded from an output by conditional text were also excluded from the published TOC. Upon generating and publishing my upgraded projects, I've just noticed that while the topics themselves are still excluded from the published output as designed, the TOC is including them (clicking the links doesn't find the topic though). In the following picture, the topics highlighted with a red box are CUCM topics that should not show up in the TOC of the HRE output. The topic itself is missing (as shown in the right pane), but the TOC still shows it. Is this a bug or do I need to create different TOCs for each fla
Hello, I would like to know how to create a custom skin for Adobe Robohelp? Thank you. Selvei.
I have recently discovered that specific search words are not returning any results in my project output even though there are many topics in my project with the word. If I search for other words, I get a lot of search results, so search does seem to work, but not for all words. (i.e. when I search for the word health, no results are found even though many topics have the word health. If I search for the word case, I get many search results). I checked to ensure the topics don't have "exclude from search" selected. Any help is appreciated.
I have just upgraded a project first from Robo 2017 to Robo 2019 Classic (that went fine), then from Robo 2019 Classic to Robo 2019. In the resulting pages, my user-defined variables are being repeated in my project (authoring) files. And in the output files, they are appearing in triplets. Does anyone know why this is, or how to fix it? Thanks, Mark
This issue started recently. I open RoboHelp and the window displaying Recent Projects displays. When I click a link, a different guide opens than the one selected. I hover over a link and and display the hyperlink path.. I see it is correct and click on the project name, but it still brings up an incorrect guide. See the attachments. Recent Projects Hyperlink shows what I'm tryiing to select. The Opened Guide shows what guide opened. There is no rhyme or reason as to what guide opens when I click a different link. It's been happening a few weeks now. Thank you, Michele
We have published Update 14 for RoboHelp 2019. Go to Help > Updates to update your version. Here are more details about this update: https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/fixed-issues.html
I have a help file using RH Classic 2019. All updated, everyone is on the same version. We use a CBT called INTERNAL_ONLY to keep topics or content out of a certain build. We recently decided to make some of these topics public, so removed the build tag from the topic. When the build machine runs the BUILDSSL, the topic is now included in help, it shows in the TOC and the index, all is well and good with the world... until you search for the title. It does not show up in search results. Topics with references to that topic show up in search results, but not the topic itself. Now, of course, I tried the same BUILDSSL output from my machine (different topic, of course, since I don't have rights on the build machine), and it works fine when I generate it. But having me generate it is not the appropriate answer, here. So, I've tried all sorts of things, including building a new output file, a new build expression for the build machine, nothing works at all. I got the output v
Hi, Everyone. Hoping you can tell me how to change vertical alignment in a table cell or whole table? (By default, the vertical alignment is set to "center.") This is in RH 2019, new UI. Thank you!
Hello,I'm using the latest RH 2019 version and testing the frameless skin. I'm using the conditional tags pretty much. Unfortunatly I have to tag the complete TOC, too, right? Why isn't that inherited from the topics? But thats just a side question...When I generate my project as a responsive HTML5, the TOC is getting filtered correctly. When I'm creating a frameless output out of the same project with the equivalent presets, the TOC filtering is different. I have to groups for filters: Plattform ("online" and "on premises") and Role ("Admin", "Configurator", "View",...). In the responsive output the filter groups are AND connected. Is it possible that in the frameless TOC they are OR connected? Is that configurable? I hope you understand what I mean and maybe someone knows a solution for it?Thank you and regardsFelix
Hello, thought this was in the forum already, but don’t see it.ISSUE – Search not working correctly. Some words yield no results (other words seem to work fine, results are listed).I’m using RH 2015 Responsive HTML published to SharePoint domain, same issue in MSIE, Chrome, and MS Edge.Search was working correctly earlier this year, not sure when this might have first occurred.Thought it might be a patch, but no updates showing in RH Help menu (?).I’m guessing it’s something simple. Thanks for any help

HiI would like to know if it is possible to indent the Related Topics List to the right based on a style. I used the Related Topics placeholder and applied a style to the Related Topics list but unfortunately it did not take my style. The deafult style (ol.reltopics-list) for Related Topics in the default.css does work. But the list is indented to the left.I would like to get an output as below.Related TopicsTopic 1Topic 2Topic 3
Hi all,We use TortoiseGit for version control. Due to some conflicts, we reverted to the previous stage. Later while trying to check-in the files, I see a message in Git $rhvariable$.htm and <file_name>.ldb files as missing. I haven't opened the project yet. I want to know the behavior or how does it impact the check-in?
I'm trying to make RH2019 work with my company's installation of git, but I can't get it to work. I consulted these instructions, and I am frustrated by them:https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/git.html 1 - The version of git in these instructions is old; I downloaded and installed 2.27.0. This version does not contain an option to use git with optional Unix tools. After installation, however, there are options to open Git Bash, Git CMD, and Git GUI.2 - The version of Windows 10 is old; we're running version 1903, a full 100 versions newer than the version in the instructions. I've eventually been able to close the base folder for my repo. However, I could not clone any of the folders in the base folder. (pardon if folder is not the right term) I cloned the repo using power shell and opened my project. RH doesn't recognize this and so the menu commands to commit and push are unavailable. So, I need help to get this to work. I also request that someone please
I'm reading the marketing materials for RoboHelp 2019 and I'd love clarification on what the following description means:"SharePoint Online supportEnsure everyone stays on the same page by enabling sharing and collaboration across your organization with SharePoint Online."I noticed that Peter's RoboHelp Tour put the SharePoint integration in the Source Control section of his tour and it seems to me as if the instructions are for using SharePoint Online to share the source files, not the output files.I have RoboHelp 2015 currently and unsucessfully attempted to publish Responsive HTML5 output to SharePoint Online (part of the MS365 suite) earlier this year. My IT person (who is well versed in SharePoint) and I tried every way we could. I checked the "Generate SharePoint Native Output before publishing" and published the .aspx files to a One Drive folder, which was used to update the SharePoint folder. (We also tried just copying and pasting the files to a SharePoint Online folder.
Is SQL Server Compact 4.0 Service Pack 1 required to publish to SharePoint Online? I am not able to publish to my created SharePoint Online folder. I get access denied messages.
Hello! I would like to use the RoboHelp 2019 scripting functionality to perform what seems like (to me) a simple task, but I have zero experience using scripting and the Official documentation doesn't seem to cover it at all. Basically I'd like a script that goes through a specific folder that I point to, and then takes the title from the metadata htm title and adds it to the index metadata of each document in the folder. Any help writing this, or pointers to simple resources that I can learn from, would be very much appreciated.
Okay, I have this weird issue using the search on a compiled responsive HTML5 doc... I'm writing techincal docs for a programming language, which means I have lines of code on the page like:sprite_get_texture(spr_Background, 0); However, using the example above, if I do a seacrh for the function sprite_get:texture, the results have the () stripped from them so it looks like this: sprite_get_texture spr_Background, 0 ;Here are is an image that illustrates the issue better: You'll notice that it's stripping the brackets from ALL code in the page, not just the function that I'm searching. I have NO idea why it's doing this, let alone how it can be fixed, so any help here would be appreciated!
I'm using the latest RH 2017, and I had an issue where, in RH's HTML5 layout, there was an odd right vertical bar that appeared under the TOC text like this:I didn't like how this looked and wanted to remove it, but I found that I couldn't turn off this particular element inside of the usual layout UI controls that RH offers. This is my solution. I decided to share it here in case anyone else might be interested in doing something similar. (I assume this solution likely also works in the classic version of RH 2019).It turns out that this (and many other styles) is controlled by a style that is stored inside of a stylesheet that RoboHelp provides named layout-rtl.css.If you're using the charcoal gray HTML5 layout, for example, this file stylesheet is inside of the !ScreenLayout!\Charcoal_Grey folder in your project(When you generate your HTML5 output, this file gets placed inside of your template\Charcoal_Gray folder, so you'll likely want to modify the one in !ScreenLayout!\Charcoal_Gr
I just upgraded my RoboHelp Classic 2019 project to RH 2019, update 11. The upgrade went fine, but all of my topics lost their auto-numbered steps: When I click the Topic tab under Properties, RH hangs for several minutes before displaying the Topic Properties:Once I'm able to double check that the correct CSS is applied (and it is), checking the autonumbering for the paragraph doesn't seem to reveal why all steps are listed as Step 1: Is there a fix for the slow response time for Topic Properties and my autonumbering? Thank you.
Hello! I am fortunate enough (read the sarcasm...) to be working on a project in Robohelp Classic; it's being moved to the 2019 version but until then it has to be maintained in Classic. There are an absolute TON of snippets in the project and I would like to be able to see how many times each snippet is used and if possible, the location(s) where each snippet is used. Is there any way to accomplish these requests? Thank you in advance!Natalie Grierson
Please know that I have performed many searches on this forum to find the answer. It must be so simple.... I've imported a Responsive 2017 project into 2019 new UI. Many things require tweaking, and I'm still finding things that didn't carry over. 😞 One of the things that didn't carryover is how the search results display. In 2017, the search results displayed the first few lines from the page along with breadcrumbs. In 2019, the search results displays part of the sentence the search term is in and the filepath (as in filenames). In 2017, I could replace the filename with breadcrumbs by toggling the "Show Context in Search Results" option on. I can not find this option in 2019. How can I have the search results display just the few lines from the page? The search results appear in the TOC pane, so having random, partial sentences display under the title of the page is not useful at all for us.
Hi, I'm testing a trial version of RH 2019, updated with update 14. I currently use RH 2017. When I imported my project from RH 2017 to RH 2019 (new UI) I received an error on the css file. When I opened the project and generated it, all of my numbered lists did not have any formatting. The css error did not give me any indication what the problem was and so far, this is the only issue I've found. I reviewed the css and determined the style name for numbered lists is "rh.list.Numbered-multistyle". I am unable to edit the numbering or anything for this style. I could open it in a CSS editor and edit it, but I'd rather have a cleaner css. (i.e., because I'm not confident in my css abilities) When I imported my project from RH 2017 to RH 2019 (Classic) I did not receive the css error and the generated project looks okay. I have 2 questions: How could I easily get rid of the "rh.list.Numbered-multistyle" style, create
