If you have just upgraded your project and you can't get it to generate for a first time, check that the Default Topic field in your output preset has the correct topic selected and does not say "First_Topic.htm".   I'm doing some tests upgrading old Multiscreen HTML5 projects, and the Default Topic does not transfer across, instead changing to the default file for a brand new blank project.

I uploaded to my RoboHelp project my company's logo that was created for black/dark background as is in the Skin Header. It is visible in RoboHelp project skin. The Header height is 60 (I understand this cannot be configured). My image is 100 px (width) and 57 px (height) and I entered the logo width as 100 px (i.e. under the Header>Logo>uploaded logo option.However, when the project is generated and displayed in the browser, it isn't visible (see image: HTML5 output preview in browser). It doesn't matter if the image is a jpeg or png; I tried both. What am I doing wrong?

I would like to create a On This Page TOC or Links on each topic in which Heading 2 or Heading 3 sub-sections are listed in the top right corner of the topic allowing the user to "jump" to these sub-sections and not have to scroll down and read the whole topic in order to find them.

I have imported a 40 page Word document into Robohelp 2019. This Word doc was originally in landscape, however the output of RoboHelp is in portrait, resulting in cutting off images and tables.  How can I change the orientation of the page in the output Word or PDF? 

Hi have many, many graphics of toolbar icons set to 26 x 26 px. In my text, I want to link the text that identifies each icon so that a popup opens and the user sees the icon in the popup. When I add a hyperlink  to the text and then select custom-sized popup, I set the height and width of the popup to 30px, BUT, this works only for the height - the width refuses to budge below some pre-defined value that I cannot figure out for the life of me what it is even though my code view shows 30 px. I have attached a picture to demonstrate this. This is driving me buggy because (1) it shows the popup borders, which I don't and (2) it looks like crap in the output. I just want the icon to be displayed in what appears to the user's eye to be just the icon - i.e., not in any container that shows borders. Any thoughts of how to deal w/ this?   Moderator: Image added to body.

I created a new style that would indent under a numbered list or bulleted list item (used for aligning pictures under the text of the list item or the result text under the list item). I put the style in the Paragraph styles (p.list.continue) and Div Styles (div.list.continue). However, selecting it as a div style doesn't format as it should and as a paragraph style doesn't even appear in the Topic Style panel.The only way I could make the text or picture format as formatted in the style was to work in the source code. For example:<li>Enter a name for the case in the Case Name box.<div class="list">Enter a short description about the case in the Description box.</div><div class="note"><strong>Note:</strong> The description is for your information and identification. It will not appear in the exported case.</div></li> This kind of defeats the purpose of having a user-friendly, easy to use application if you have to work in the source

I have the latest RH 2017 and Word Version 2002 (12527.20278) from Office 365 RoboHelpers,In RH, I'm trying to create a new folder and chapter in an existing RH project. I'm interested in importing just the structure from Word to get the topics created for this new chapter. (I'll add the actual documentation into each topic later.) To that end, the Word document I'm importing only contains the headings. The topics import fine.But the TOC is empty. I've created the TOC in the word document with the desired 4 TOC headings. Is this a bug, or am I missing something? Admittedly, it's been a while since I've had to import something from Word but I think I'm doing it right. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Hey,   We are currently using RH2019 update 10, with a rather large project (~2300 topics). After initiating a search and clicking on a result, we are getting a huge performance drop... load times being between 200 secs to just crashing the browser (Chrome 79.0.3945.117, IE11). We have also tested and observed this issue with update 9 of RH2019.   This is only an issue in the Frameless output as we were able to generate a Responsive HTML5 output and had no issues with the search.   This doens't seem to be an issue with lunr doing the search but something within the Robohelp functions that gets executed once a page is loaded with ?rhsearch=something in the url.   Is anyone else experiencing this type of slowness with the new frameless skin?

Hello while testing, I came along something strange.Could find just made products in 'my document'.My document is mapped to my d:users/me/documents/ (space reason of course) for several years alreadywhenever I create a new project in RH, RH stores it in c:users/me/documentsof course when looking for the freshly created project, you click on the 'my document' quick acces icon, and cannot find it.How to change in RH the My document path? No other application uses C: for my document stored data....I would prefer to not change this path manually at every project creation best regardsOlivier

HiI am using Robohelp 2019.0.12 Is there a way of adding new Statuses to topics. We have 'Draft', 'In review' etc. but I would like to add my bespoke statuses. Is this possible? ThanksMichelle

Unlike RH2019 Classic, when I import my word document into RH2019 New UI, the internal hyperlinks (those linking or referencing other chapters within the doucment) do not work.  When I click on them using the control key, it opens a duplicate window in Internet Explorer. But it does not go to the hyperlink location. External hyperlinks work just fine.   All the hyperlinks work just fine in RH2019 Classic when importing the same document.   Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated to get these internal hyperlinks to work non-Classic RH2019.   Thank you,   Ken 

Hello, where can I change the title of the chm file (the main project of a merged chm project)? I've read the posts for the old versions. Would think it is by creating a window settings. Inserting a space in de name is immediately replaced by an underscore. So the real title is not there. Anyhow I change another bit there (left out glossary) and save it.then I go the the output presets and edit microsoft html. Under Layout I indicate default window ('settings' would be nice to add there, it is confusing) and choose the just create window (setting). compile. Nothing changes. I've also tried to edit the *.win file with an editor (caption tag). To no avail...best regards Olivier

Hello everyone, I have an internal request. I work with Robohelp 2017 (and 2019 in one month). I'm looking to find out if it is possible to communicate with the search engine of a Webhelp output from a software we devellop.For example: the user works with our software, he can search in it (with a tool we will develop). The charachtere string is sent to the search engine of the online help located in our servers.The web browser opens, the search has been performed in the online help and the answers are displayed in the usual place.Is that  possible to do that ? Is there a file in which can we could send the "string" ? whfdhtml.htm ? Thank you !  

Hi Team,Cant able to import the Word  file. Getting the Document Read Error "Cannot read filename.docx Make Sure that the document is closed". Even though i have closed all the .docx files.  

When compiling in RoboHelp, the file fails constantly about 3/4 of the way through. compiling a 2017 Robohelp file in the 2019 version of Robohelp.

Does RH 2019 new UI support image hotspot feature?

Environment:Win10RoboHelp 2019.11 NewFramelessOrange (modified) Create this in RoboHelp: How it appears in the output: Problem:The build/compile process is inserting a backslash immediately prior to each double-quote. Workaround:Use a single-quote character instead of the double-quote character; those publish correctly. This is a bug, right?

I have a merged RH2019 project, with the merged project comprised of 20 individual projects. All the individual projects are at the same directory level. In 11 of these projects, I have a common topic that details a particular dialog box and all the options on all the tabs on the dialog box.I created the necessary topics (5 in total that addressed this dialog box - one for each tab on the dialog box) in the default merge project for my merged help, and then I attempted the following in one of the projects that also required this topic:1.) In my TOC, created a new page entry.2.) In the Properties for this new page entry, for the Source,  clicked on the Update Link URL icon and on the Update Page dialog box that opens, I select Local Files.3.) I then click the Browse icon next to the File Path field, and I browse to and select the local topic file.4.) If I create a popup that contains only a graphic (RH 2019, Version 11), in the Preview mode of RH, the link works as expected and the popup shows the graphic. In the actual output opened in a browser, the link is dead. . .I have attached a graphic showing this difference - the graphic on the left is in Preview mode and the graphic on the right is the same link when opened in a browser. Why would a graphic only popup cause such problems?
