I am using new RoboHelp 2019 and all of my patches are up to date. I have a style called h1 for heading 1, and I can't change its font. When I click the drop-down list box arrow next to the field something flashes up but then nothing happens. Surely this is a fairly standard/common thing to want to do? Here is a picture: I have looked in the forums and help but can't find an answer. Is this a bug?
Greetings!I need the community's assistance with a weird occurance. Hopefully someone has ran into this before. We have Robohelp 2019 installed on multiple PCs and log on with our Adobe IDs (to which the subscription licenses are tied). As a result, we're never asked to enter a serial number (by design). One of the PCs that had a trial version installed on it will sadly not recognize the licenses tied to our Adobe IDs and keeps asking for an actual license number. Troubleshooting performed: - Did a fresh install of the latest RH 2019 and chose the option to remove all stored settings during the uninstall - Went to Windows -> Syste32 and made sure that the "hosts" file doesn't have any entries related to Adobe in it. My next step would be to re-image the PC compltely, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. Has anyone else ran into similar behavior, and if yes....were you able to find a quick soluion? Thank you in advanc
This is something that has been happening seemingly randomly for a long time. Some topics have a gap at the top of the page while others start at the top as expected. Here's a side by side comparison: The headings for both of these topics use the same style and they use the same css file. I don't see anything in the html that would explain this, as far as I can tell. Anyone have any idea why some topics have a gap at the top?
RH2019.I have a project with one file.When I generate a Word file, it timeout and tells me to look at the log files.Abyone know how to get Word gen to work? Error messag is: UnhandledCssParser error: line 342 col 3: invalid identity. CSS => /**/ line 342 is: border-width:1px;
I'm using HTML5 for a merged project (one parent and many many children). The header displays a "Click here for Table of Contents" link in the upper right corner. I (along with others in my group) would like to change the link's text since clicking that link opens more than just the TOC. I don't see a setting in RH (using 2019 Classic) that allows me to change it. Is there a source file I can change? Thank you!
I recently upgraded to RoboHelp 2019 due to receiving a new laptop. I had issues with slowness, but I reinstalled RoboHelp and that went away. Now my drop-down text I created in previous version are not opening. Our software product that my Help file runs in only supports .chm. On my old laptop I was using RoboHelp 2019 version 14.0.4.026 and drop-down text boxes acted perfectly in .chm output. My new laptop is running RoboHelp 2019 version 2019.0.9 and when I output in Microsoft HTML Help and view the .chm my drop-down text either doesn't open, or if I double click on one, another one opens. Before I got RoboHelp 2019 2019.0.9 on my old laptop I used to have to compile in WebHelp and then convert WebHelp to HTML .chm output. Do you think I need to do that in the 2019.0.9 version? I'm not seeing where I can do that conversion in the version I'm using. I've STRONGLY encouraged our development team to upgrade our software to use Responsive HTML, but so far it gets pushed back. &nb
When I generate a PDF for review, all the procedure content of my drop-down text appears with a number 1 (sequential numbering is lost). I am using the latest version with the newest hotfix RoboHelp 2019 classic.
I'm using Responsive HTML 5 to generate help. I've customised my layout and things look good, except for the headline and the contents, which appear in Times New Roman. I'd like to use our corporate (Google) font like I do in the rest of the document. I have the font on my PC so it's all good WYSIWYG, but of course not all users have it so they get the stock Times font. I'm good with getting the Google font out there for the main body - just about. I've tried a few things around @1552174 and @11220649-face etc. in the style sheet and this is okay, but this doesn't cover the contents. I've selected the right font in Layout Customisation - Basic Settings - Layout font, but presumably this only works for web safe fonts? Is there another css file that I need to specify my font in?
In the new RoboHelp 2019, on the Author tab | Glossary, I have several terms and descriptions. On the Output tab | MS HTML Help | Content | Glossary, the name of my Glossary is selected. When I Generate Preset then preview the CHM, the Glossary is blank.I tried generating the preset with "None" selected for the Glossary to see if the tab would just not display and do without the Glossary. But the Glossary tab still displayed. Why is the Glossary blank or as another option, can I hide the Glossary tab from view in the CHM file?
I'm working in RH 2019 again using the latest hotfix version 2019.0.9 (trial version). I'm trying to see if I can get the two projects that RH 2019 fails to compile to work. When I last used the RH 2019 trial version a couple of months ago two of our projects never compiled in 2019 new UI (even though they worked fine in RH 2017 and RH 2019 classic). Where does RH 2019 store the log file during preset generation? That's what I currently need. (Well, what I really need is an output window that shows the output progress as it generates so I can see where it fails. But an output window like that that unfortunately doesn't seem to exist in RH 2019.) I'm hoping to open the log file in a text editor, press F5 to refresh periodically while it builds to mimic an output window, assuming the log is still text-editor readable to hopefully find the needle in the haystack. I cannot find such a log file. I searched in the source, I searched in the output, I searched the install locati

Hello,We had to delete entirely Robohelp and to reinstall it. We deleted it from the Creative Commons window by pressing the Desintall button. Now, RoboScreen Capture doesn’t work at all. A window displaying Error in launching RoboScreen Capture appears. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.
Hi RoboHelp lovers (Solution to this issue is shown in CAPS, below) My techy colleagues have set up my Robohelp to push to GIT, in order that they can manage changes and versions in parallel with the software they are developing. Everything seems to be working OK but this morning (while working at home with no techies available) when I tried to open up a project in the new location they had created, the project tried to open up in 2019, which I didn't want to happen. (I'd installed an evaluation copy of 2019 some time ago and decided to stick with 2017 - thats another story for another day). As the project seemed insistent on opening in 2019 and 2017 did not even come up as an option on the "open using other programs" dialog the fix seemed to be uninstalling 2019.Anyhow, having uninstalled 2019 and re installed 2017 (which subsequently seemed to be necessary) I found I was unable to use RoboScreen Capture. When I tried to do my first "Screen grab" of the day, a pop up m
Hi guys, Am a Tech Writer and am quite a rookie with respect to RoboHelp. Lately, I've been wondering if there's any template or any other kind of aid available for me in-built in RoboHelp. I understand than I can create a template of my own and reuse the content pieces to stitch a complete API guide on my own via RH, but am just curious to know if there's any help from RH by default. Am expecting your reply on this to plan my works this weekend. Please consider this as an immediate favor.
Hello Fellows, I've just started looking into Robohelp 2019. The interface change is not an issue. The first problem I encountered is inability to import an FM book by reference, to dynamically catch changes in the content authored in FM. I don't intend to author directly in Robohelp. There is an option to create a link to an FM book but brigning the book into Robohelp doesn't bring the book chapters. Trying to generate HTML5 output from the linked FM book fails miserably. Another issue is that when importing an FM book, Robohelp lists the book chapters in an order that is completely different from the original one. Trying to generate HTML5 from the imported book results in an index page that contains nothing. Any ideas how to resolve the issues above? The application behavior is more than weird (all updates are installed). Thanks!
I'm trying to get a Word output, but am not very successful yet.Using a Word template. Mapping all the CSS styles to their Word counterparts. I can select the styles just fine. Almost all styles are mapped. However, when I generate the Word file, it has the header and footer of the Word template, but all the body text is Normal only with direct formatting applied. Except the headings, these do have the Heading 1/2/3 style. The Masterpage uses the RH CSS with all styles in it.Is there a setting that makes Word choose to use all RH CSS styles directly instead of the selected Word styles?
Hi, for our help system https://help.celum.com we generate the output from 4 different projects - a dedicated project for each of our product lines and a parent project which merges all of them together and contains some marketing intro topics. If I try to generate the "Printed documentation" output for the merged project, it only includes the marketing topics that are actually part of the merged parent project. All the child project topics are not included. Is there any way to generate a single PDF from a merged project that has 1 parent and multiple child projects? Or is it simply not possible? Do I have to generate a Word document of each child project and then merge them all together before converting to PDF manually? We are using Adobe RoboHelp 2019 Classic (have not switched to the Reimagined UI yet). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Birgit
We have a requirement for some hyperlinks to open in the user's default browser. We do this by manually creating the links as follows: href="default:../topicname.html".When the link is created in the HTML 5 output, the target="_blank" value is added to the link. This currently works OK, but in the new version of our own Help browser, it does not work. I have discovered that the target="_blank" value is not supported in HTML 5 (https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_link_target.asp).My question please: is there a supported way to get a link to open in the default bowser? I am using the Charcoal Grey output in RoboHelp 2017.Thanks for any advice you can offer,Mark
Hi there, I just noticed that hyperlinks in the PDF behave a bit strangely. If I link to a bookmark chapter, the hyperlink goes exactly where I want it to go. If I link to a topic, it goes to someplace within this topic, not to the top of it. I assume, the difference is that in the first case it jumps to a bookmark, but in the second case does not (I have not used bookmarks for the topic title / main header, only for sub-headers).In the HTML output, the hyperlinks lead to the top of the page.Is this a bug or is it necessary to add bookmarks also for the topic titles?I am using RH 2019.0.9Thanks and regardsKarin
Running RoboHelp 2019 (update 9). Generating Frameless outputThe project's main/only style sheet is default.css. It looks and operates fine in the project. However, when compiling/generating Frameless output, none of the styles are being applied. I opened default.css in Notepad in the output folder and discovered that [data-region="topic"] is being inserted in front of each style. The default.css in the project folders does NOT have this. Screen shot below shows a comparison. For now, I can manually copy in the CSS file from the project over the one in the output, but obviously this isn't ideal. Thoughts on what could be causing this - and how to resolve it?
Hi there,I have a couple of problems with my HTML5 online help when I try to display it in IE11. I am using RoboHelp 2017.I have always zipped the !SSL! folder and uploaded to sharepoint sites. Now, when I do, I always receive notification that the changes in a guide do not show or the files can't be used. Today I looked at the Index file in the SSL folder. It open fine. Then I zipped the SSL folder and when I look at the Index, it does not display properly. Why did this used to work but no longer does?I am using Responsive HTML5 Output.Thank you,Michele
Hello! Is there anyway to create a table in Robohelp and remove all exterior borders so only the inside borders exist? I've attached an example of this performed in Word - I'm hoping there is functionality in RoboHelp to do this. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
RH 2019 New UI (2019.0.9) RoboHelpers, The challenge is back! (Related Challenge). *cue the Mission Impossible music* This mission, should you choose to accept it... is to get the end of a Topic List report.Let's get started! Suppose for a moment you have a large help system with 2300+ topics and multiple folders. Because, hey, who doesn't like a challenge right? Now suppose you have a need to get to the bottom of the Topic List report in order to eventually select a range of several hundred topics to apply a Conditional Build Tag on a large subset of topics. How long does it take you? What's YOUR best method? Your fans want to know! If you're like me, you might think, well shoot, RoboHelp 2019 is a new fangled piece of software. It should just show all the topics. I'll just scroll to the bottom and boom, I'm done! It shouldn't take more than a second. Nrrrrgggg! (That's the sound of the dreaded red you-are-incorrect buzzer!) Sorry, a reasonable
We use Robohelp Classic and our main project is very large with maybe close to 2000 topics. It grows gradually as we add more content, but it used to take maybe 15-20 minutes to generate the project in HTML5. Now it takes closer to an hour, and it seems to get worse all the time. Is there any way to cut the generation time down? It's getting to be difficult to work around.
