Hello,Does HTML5 Responsive Help support UNIX with the NamingRule value set to 6673? Our projects generated with HTML5 Responsive Help in RoboHelp 2017 do not load the the search engine or TOC on Solaris 10 with Mozilla 1.7 browser (javascript errors). Webhelp used to work. Thank your for your help.Roy
Using RH 11Output in HTML5When generating HTML5 output, two index files are created: index.htm, and index1.htmFrom what I can tell, index.htm is what's used by your browser when viewing the output full-screen, on your average desktop PC. In this mode, the A-Z Index appears to the left of my window, within a 'sidebar'.Index1.htm is used for smaller screen sizes, such as when viewed on a tablet, or when you manually modify your browser window such that it's not full-screen i.e. shrunk enough that the browser switches into 'tablet-view' mode (for want of a better description). In this mode, the A-Z Index appears in the middle of the window (where 'topic' content normally appears). If I use RoboHelp to edit RoboHelp's A-Z Index source template (index.slp), any changes I make are then visible in the index1.htm format, but not the index.htm format. For example, if I want to add our Corporate logo to the A-Z Index, and position it under the A-Z Index filter box, it's easy enough for me to make
The Responsive HTML5 version that I committed via GIT and deployed to our app via Team City will not open a topic correctly from the Table of Contents. The book doesn't open the one topic that's inside it: Clicking the Teams book should expand to show its single topic called "Teams" - as shown on my local machine: This makes me suspect that a glitch occurred in the commit-deployment process, which is always possible, though this has never happened in 3 years' time. Am I on the right troubleshooting path? Appreciate any advice.
Hi All We have just recently installed Robohelp V6 on a computer in the office and after making sure that RoboSource is connected and visible, I have come to my desktop machine and made sure that 1. I could connect to the Robohelp "Server" 2. that I could map to the drive that the project file resided 3. that I could ping the "server" computer All appears to be fine, except that when I try to open the Project file from the "MAPPED" drive, I get the following error msg: "OPEN PROJECT WAS CANCELLED OR THE APPLICATION WAS UNABLE TO LOAD THE DATABASE FOR: T:\Content\Grail2Aug07Help.cpd" It is the Project file grail2aug07help.xpj that I am trying to open. The project WAS currently opened and in use my another person on the "server" computer, so I wonder if this is the reason for the message.??? If I cannot get the project opened. how do I then make sure that files that I want to alter are "Checked In/Out" by me and are also seen, by other users as being CHECKED OUT...?? PLEASE HE
After the reimaging and reinstallation of RoboHelp 11, the Help > Updates option is grayed out. I need to install a couple of updates to get the version back to 11.0.4.291 to match the other developers machines. How do I make that menu option available?
Hi all,I have imported a few PDFs with reviewer comments. The comments import fine and can all be viewed in the Review Pane. I go through the comments one by one, make edits as necessary, and update the status as I go. After the status is updated I make sure the topic is saved.During the review process I noticed that the status for a selection of comments, for no obvious reason, is not retained and always reverts to "None". This has resulted in a LOT of wasted time on my part because it's a large project and there are numerous comments, some of which have been revisited a number of times to find that they have already been addressed.Has anyone else had this problem? Is this going to be fixed? Is there a workaround in the meantime?
I've been hoping for some bug fixes and new features for a long time. Are they still working on this or have they given up?
RoboHelp 2017Version: 13.0.2.334Our RoboHelp online help is currently not in a secure session. We have some proprietary information on our online help and would like to make it so it all hides behind a secure login session. If someone is not logged in, they should not be able to access the online help. Currently, all someone has to do is to have the link and they will be able to access everything.I have been told by our web developers that RoboHelp is only an HTML Authoring tool and we are unable to create a secure session. I've been told that we will need to find another solution to develop our online help. We have sunk several years into using RoboHelp and would like to continue using it. I'm sure we are not the only company to have run into an issue like this. If you have made your online help secure, please help by explaining how you did it. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,When we apply tags to content that we want to dynamically filter, do we apply it on the ToC or in the project manager or both?Should the structure in the project manager be the same as the one in the ToC?
My first question is about linking from the Master project to the child projects in Robohelp 2017:I've merged 3 projects into 1 project. In the welcome page of the master project, I try to add links to the starting page of each project, but I don't get the link to work. I did Insert hyperlink > Link to and then selected File. I then get the message that an external link will be created, and indeed the link doesn't work. How can I create an internal link?My second question is about filtering. Is there a way to exclude child projects from the search results?
In a Chrome browser (Version 60.0.3112.113 Official Build 64-bit) DHTML and back and forward buttons don't work. They do work in IE. I'm using RoboHelp 2017 WebHelp. DHTML effect is Elastic. Back button action OnClick is: top.frames[1].frames[1].history.go(-1); Forward button OnClick is: top.frames[1].frames[1].history.go(+1);Is there a solution to allow DHTML elastic and Back/Forward buttons to work in Chrome?Regards,Helen
I'm using RoboHelp 2017 with FrameMaker 2017. The RoboHelp project I'm working on is a linked document from FrameMaker. I'm updating the online help files with the latest changes and my images in the document do not show up in RoboHelp. The images are EPS files and in the past they converted to JPEG and there was no issue with images showing up. However, today all the images are missing in the online help. The Image says it's a JPEG but does not show up. I also have checked the "Use Distiller to Generate Image" box in the Conversion Settings. Does anybody know what's going on here? I'd really like some help.
When I attempt to generate a responsive design in RoboHelp 11, I am able to properly view the result in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. However, when viewing the result in Edge, the TOC does not display, not all buttons that appear can be selected, and the header displays as one bar instead of two separate (as it does in Chrome and Internet Explorer).
I'm using quotation marks with a search string to get the best results for searching for content in a large project. (I'm using RH 2015)When the search results include a list of multiple hits in a single topic, is there an option that allows the user to then go to next? (Similar to using Find in Adobe Acrobat, where you can click Next and run through the list of hits.)I've searched on Google and on the Adobe Support site and have not seen this specific issue discussed.
Somehow my .xpj file is gone so I cannot edit my project. Can I recover this
Hello,I'm interested in using the Indigo layout in RH2017 for a new online Help Centre. I am using an EVAL version of RH2017 with the latest update on a test PC (downloaded yesterday). The layout looks good and it can be modified quite a bit, but it will take a bit of learning to understand it well enough before I decide to use it. However, it does seem to have issues even with using the latest update. But it may be down to my understanding.I've noticed a couple of things so far (both happen in the out of the box Indigo and my own modified Indigo).1. The 'Welcome to our Help Center title and What can we do to help you sub title is missing. They just dont appear at all. I have checked the Project Settings screen - Advanced button and the Labels tab (as I read on another discussion that this is where the words can be changed) and those options are not in the list at all. Perhaps this points to the problem, I don't know. This is the relevant HTML for the homepage, so the "@KEY_LNG.Welcome_h
We currently have 2 authoring tools, one of which is RoboHelp HTML 2017. We create CHM files with both tools and most links open in a new window (Internet Explorer browswer). The CHM files created with RoboHelp look fine when links are opened in a new window. In the other tool, most of the formatting set in the stylesheet is gone in the new window.Does RoboHelp somehow embed the stylesheet in the CHM so that it remembers the style when links are opened in a new window? I am trying to figure out why it works in RH and not in the other authoring tool, and then hopefully I'll be able to apply it to the other tool as well.
Hi,I have a Responsive HTML5 project/output. I have updated the existing master page to insert breadcrumbs. The existing topics that have the master page applied do not show the breadcrumbs. However, when I create a new topic and apply the master page, the breadcrumbs show up.Shouldn't existing topics be automatically refreshed if I update the master page?Any idea what is missing or how to fix this?
I have recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 and installed RoboHelp 2015 on it. According to my IT department, this is the original release of RoboHelp 2015, and there are not patches or updates installed (we did not purchase this part of the package). When I compile my project to Responsive HTML5, I am unable to open any of the topics in Chrome or Edge. If I expand the TOC and click a topic link, the topic briefly displays but then disappears; the TOC also collapses. Also, even though the project contains an index and glossary, they are not visible or displayed. Lastly, full-text search does not work. Can someone help me understand what is broken - or how to figure out what's broken?I'm not sure that any other topic in the forum covers this, so I'm asking. I apologize if there's an answer out there.Cindy
In Responsive HTML5 layout, I am able to add a logo. Can we add an image in the header? We have an image that we want to add to the header which matches the application. Is that possible?
I'm using RH 2017 (latest version). Can I import an .hhc into RH? I could have sworn this was possible, but it seems not.I manually made a duplicate of my existing .hhc with File | Save as in Np++. I then made some changes inside of Np++ and would like to import it. But it looks like the only way to do this is to first duplicate the .hhc within RH then modify it.
Hi,I'm using the Azure blue layout and have noticed that when the left-hand side panel is collapsed and then a search is run, the panel does not automatically open to display the search results. Is there a way of making this happen?Currently the search runs silently in the background with no indication that it has been successful and no presentation of the search results. It would be better if the panel opened to display the results.Does anyone have any ideas about how to do this? Thanks!
I wonder if you can help.We are currently using Robohelp 10 for the help pages for our company's software - specifically the Multiscreen HTML 5 output. My understanding from our developers is the HTML outputted in this fashion is of a type which apparently is somewhat longwinded, and which therefore has a negative effect on the outputted pages' SEO ranking. Therefore, is there a way to generate SEO friendlier html output? They are thinking of processing the html in house, so therefore can Robohelp (i.e. does this version, or newer versions) output to formats which they have described to me as 'semantic output formats' such as json, markdown and wiki syntax? As always, thank you for your help, it is much appreciated.Dan Wait
I've heard some comments about RoboHelp 2017 was the last version of RoboHelp and from now on it is discontinued. I would like to know if it is true or not, because I was asked to search for alternative softwares for generating HTML5 output. Because those people are concerned about not having any fresh updates and so on. It suits our purporses so far, so in my opinion it is a pity replacing this tool. However, I wasn't able to find anything more solid about it, so I don't know if it's true. I have been thinking of MadCap Flare software for replacing it as an alternative option, if necessary. As a quick view, I noticed it imports RoboHelp projects, generates HTML5 outputs etc. But honestly I haven't had enough time to learn more about it. I look forward to hearing from you!
