Hi All - I just realized in my Responsive HTML5 output that my TOC isn't behaving the way I anticipated.I am using Robohelp 2017, with the Indigo Layout.My Issue: I have a single topic page (e.g. "Getting Started") that is placed in multiple books within my TOC. Navigation from my Indigo homepage always defaults the TOC on the right of my topic page view to display the first iteration of the topic. Using the TOC structure below, if I were to navigate to 'Book 2' from the Indigo homepage and then select the 'Getting Started' topic, the topic page opens correctly, but the TOC on the right shows the structure as being under 'Book 1'. Hi, is there anything I can set up in my FM files that will allow for the RH import to assign an image class to all images so that I can use the new thumbnail functionality?Currently all screenshots in FM are imported by reference in anchored frames, anchored at the end of a step as Below Current Line. If it helps, most of these anchored frames are conditioned as "screenshot", as there was a time that I was hoping the client would agree to hide them in the help output. But they are not in their own paragraph - they are either added to a step or a body style.I'm hoping there's some way that this can be easily/globally implemented without having to restructure how all images/anchored frames are inserted.Thanks,Laurie

Hi all, I've gone through all image-related discussions in this forum, as well as Preparing Anchored Frame for conversion in RoboHelp – Adobe Technical Communication Blog. I've been inching closer but still not quite there.Here's the story:Legacy project in FM8 - gifs inserted into anchored frame below line at 175DPI (this worked best to fit the entire screen in, and at the time there was only PDF output, help was added much later).Over time I gave up on TCS1 conversion and started importing into RH10. For screen shots I would just copy the original gifs over the generated output, this was acceptable quality. Not sure what changed or when, but this no longer works, even the copied gifs are displaying poorly.I now have RH2017 and have been experimenting.FM8 > RH2017:Clear “Use Distiller to Generate Image” and “Do Not Regenerate Images”, set Width and Height to 0. We recently updated to Robohelp 2017 and the first time we tried publishing to our server, we got this popup error for a picture in a topic "Publishing has been cancelled. Failed to create file: file.png". We moved this picture into the same folder as the topic, and this error went away? This same error then came up for the next picture. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have RoboHelp 2015 V12.0.4.460I'm creating a TOC. When I drag the folder from Project Manager to the TOC window, the order of the topics is changed. I want them to stay in alphabetical order as they are listed in the Project Manager window. I've gotten it to work before, but can't seem to for this folder.All suggestions are appreciated.Thanks,MDawn

Using RoboHelp 8 and Word 2007, whenever generate a Word file, the prints every page in the project, but it numbers the pages in Word as odd: 1, 3, 5... Now, when I export to PDF, it shows all pages---1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...--but all the evern pages are blank. What could be happening? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone!I'm new to RoboHelp but will be taking over the primary help text authoring duties at my workplace in a couple of months. I've been learning a bit of RoboHelp on my own, but I learned yesterday that there may be some training dollars available for me to take an actual RoboHelp class. I'm interested in learning everything I can, but with the intent to publish a lot of content in the Responsive HTML5 output. I have no background with HTML, CSS, etc. I found a few courses through searching the web, but I am a bit in the dark about which one would be the best. I'm running RoboHelp 2017. When I generate WebHelp and view it locally, Search works fine for all search terms, but when I view it on the server after it's integrated in our application, it no longer works for all search terms. For example, I can search on bank account and chart of account structure, and the search produces results. But when I search for use tax, the search produces no results, and the search freezes. I get the same results in Chrome, IE 11, Firefox, and Edge.I've installed update 2 for RH 2017, and I've made the changes to whthost.js to fix the table of contents.

I am decoupling online help from our product-- it is important that the help version number (my online help, not the RH version:)  be embedded in a manifest file that is extracted from a string within a topic. I am open to work-arounds too as long as the build number can also be picked up from the manifest text file by an external application.Does anyone have any experience with this or ideas if it will work and if it could be integrated as part of the build compilation moving forward?Thanks!

When I build my help with Indigo, the main help output page has shifted away from the square buttons. Instead, the buttons appear as links of text.Here is a sample:You can still click on the links and the pages will open, but it is not an attractive look.How can I get the buttons back?I suspect this has to do with the !Language! folder, as I was working in that to try and fix the missing Favorites button issue.Thanks,Tim

Is there any good example/article/blog on how to use areas/groups/users to its best in RH Server 10?I am able to publish the entire help content to the general area with access to everyone. I can also view the project.I want to accomplish this:There are few topics/chapters I want to hide from general users but make available to only few users.Any good article/blog on user authentication through both database and LDAP to refer to for Development team.My product uses its own authentication which is DB-based. Can I extend that view content. How do I relate it to areas/users/groups. If user1 logs in the product how can I ensure that he sees only content published to Area1. If user2 logs in the product how can I ensure that he sees only content published to area2?

I have RoboHelp 2015. I remove HTML Files (Topics) I not longer need. The links stayed as broken links. I do not have "remove Hyperlinks" as an option to remove them.How can I get rid of them.ThanksJulia

I'm compiling a master .chm for our company which has all the .chm helps from our partner companies. I always have had books as the icons in my .chm's. Each individual .chm uses books as well. When I add this one particular .chm to the TOC however, it changes all my other icons in the TOC to folders, while it remains as a book icon. How can I correct this?

We are doing a conversion from WebHelp to Responsive HTML5 output. All the tables in our current topics were created with snippets and then converted to HTML so they could be edited. I created table styles for all of our tables and verified their definitions in my CSS to make sure they are all defined correctly. If I apply the new table style to the existing table or create a new table and apply the style, the style does not work properly. For example, in existing topics that have tables with the first row being navy and when I apply the new table style to that table the header row does not change to the custom color.I also have embedded tables within tables. I know this is not a good way to look at content on a mobile device, but it isn't my decision to change the tables to text like it should be for readability. Anyway, I have table styles for these embedded tables but when I apply them they pick up the style of the "outer" table. For example, the embedded table style has left justif

Hello,Long story involving crashing PC, new Win10 machine, many problems with Team Explorer and the MSSCCI installation but yesterday I finally managed to get my project, originally started in RoboHelp 10, then upgraded to RoboHelp 11 and now upgraded to RoboHelp 2015, linked to Source Control (TFS) and worked successfully on my project for about 5 hours. Then I discovered that 1 of 4 of my TOCs contents had disappeared and then that 2 of the 4 had completely disappeared from the TOC listing. After trying to work with them for a while, I checked everything in and then moved on to insert a row in a newly created table and got the Adobe RoboHelp 2015 error window saying that Adobe RoboHelp 2015 has stopped working with choices Close the program and Debug the program. The title is what I get when I choose Debug but I don't have the knowledge to follow through on the debugging.I had shut down my machine last night after I'd had the problem four times. Using RH 2015 and generating a Responsive Layout. When using the search facility (top right field with the magnifying glass), the search works, but you are unable to scroll through all the items that have been found.For example: search for the word foreign, and you get back 115 results, but you can only see the first 8 results.There isn't a scroll bar or any means to look at all the other results.Is this a bug or a setting that should be set in order for the search to allow scrolling?

Hi RoboCommunity:I am using RoboHelp 10 and producing HTML help .chmI am lone-writer crafting help for a new product. The company purchasing the product and online help provided me with one of their help files, so I could produce something similar.I have several unique .htt files. Each type provides a unique look and feel (yellow mean one thing, blue means another, etc).The compiled help includes the following warning:HHC4006: Warning: The file "images\qual_01.gif" is already listed in the [FILES] section of the project file.I have a total of 5 of these warnings. Each warning is associated with a different .gif image.I have searched the directory for possible duplicates, but there are none.I used RoboHelp many years ago until my twin girls arrived. They are now 14. My previous version was RH v4. I think this is the correct forum to pose this question. Please forgive my post if it is in error.Thank you for any assistance.jean

hi,Currently i am working on a banking and Financial Project and i am using Adobe Robohelp 2017 to publish and Author the help guide.I have been asked to create a Responsive HTML5 generated help and i need to integrate the same with my product application.While i have created and generated the HTML 5 output and integrated the same with the application, i have been asked a question that can we share the .js files being generated while i am generating the  Responsive HTML5  output with the customer.As, it comes under Legal and Licensing security and vulnerability threat.As a part of security i cannot provide .js (whether minifyed or unminifyed) to the customer.Is somewhere it is mentioned by the Adobe regarding that, if yes then please help me to provide the link.Or help me resolve the same, else i have to scrap it.Regards,RA

Hello again guys. I feel like I've been submitting a lot of bug defects lately. I found another problem in Robohelp 2017 Update 2 that seems really obvious, so much so that I'm wondering if it isn't something on my end. Could someone else test it out and tell me if the problem occurs for them as well? After generating Responsive HTML5 output (after reimporting the layout, as it is completely broken if you don't reimport the layout), the search feature does not work. It just hangs when you try to search. I've tried it in a few projects, including one of the sample projects:Does this work for anyone else?Thanks.

I just installed the latest patch for Robohelp 2017 and it generates Responsive HTML5 but it won't load. It looks like they broke something in the last update? When you open the generated output, it just hangs like this forever:

Hello,We are using RoboHelp 2015 to create chm files on Windows 10 1607 and are currently upgrading to Windows 10 1709.  Explorer 11 is the default browser.  The chm file is on the local C drive.  When using links in a chm file to web sites we use New Window in the Hyperlink Options Display in frame.  All works correctly in Windows 10 1607. However when we take the chm file to Windows 10 1709 clicking on the same link does nothing.   If we change the option for the link to be Page Default (none) it will work in Windows 10 1709 showing the site in the chm panel. I have tried the same link in a word document and it does work correctly opening explorer to display the page. Does anyone know why opening a link to a web page from within a chm file does not open the page in a browser when using Windows 10 1709? In addition if the link is to a pdf file that is set to Page Default (none), again it will open in the chm panel but then a message shows up “Invalid plu

Hello,I use Robohelp 2017 and Chrome.Do you know why my WebHelp Output Menu freezes up in Chrome and I keep having to hit the refresh button to get it to work again? It seems to be ok in IE.Here is a detailed example:1. I click on "Acro" to view the Acronyms page.2. I click on the Acronyms page and scroll through the page to read it.3. When I click on "Basic Satcom Info" on the menu, it won't expand because it's stuck or locked up.4. I have to hit the refresh button to get the menu to expand.5. Now the menu will expand, until I click in the information pane to read the material. The menu will lock up again and I will have to hit refresh to expand it for the next item.Here is how I generate the presentation.Any ideas? My customer doesn't like having to refresh all the time.Thanks

Does anyone have recommendations for folks that translate RoboHelp projects into Spanish (Mexico-based clients)?  Other than a couple companies that turned up in a general search, I'm not sure how/where to get started.  If anyone has resources they have experience with (good or bad), I'd love some feedback and insight.We are using RoboHelp HTML v11 right now, plan to upgrade to 2015 soon but not sure if that would happen before this project's timeline.  We current deliver a CHM file.

Editing my original post to bring my questions up to the top: 1.  There's a lot of unused space on either side of my browser window (Chrome & IE) when I view help built with Indigo layout on larger screens/browsers. Is this typical behavior for that layout? Anyone see this behavior in their output?2.  Has anyone found a work around to this behavior that allows the help content to fill all of the available width? I contacted Adobe support and was told there isn't a work around. That seems odd and is very limiting.Original message:I have a trial version of RH 2017 and am trying out the Indigo layout. For example, in cases where the browser is displayed at larger widths, both the topic and a toc sidebar show up in the browser.
