Hi RoboCommunity:I am using RoboHelp 10 and producing HTML help .chmI am lone-writer crafting help for a new product. The company purchasing the product and online help provided me with one of their help files, so I could produce something similar.I have several unique .htt files. Each type provides a unique look and feel (yellow mean one thing, blue means another, etc). The compiled help includes the following warning:HHC4006: Warning: The file "images\qual_01.gif" is already listed in the [FILES] section of the project file.I have a total of 5 of these warnings. Each warning is associated with a different .gif image.I have searched the directory for possible duplicates, but there are none.I used RoboHelp many years ago until my twin girls arrived. They are now 14. My previous version was RH v4. I think this is the correct forum to pose this question. Please forgive my post if it is in error.Thank you for any assistance.jean
hi,Currently i am working on a banking and Financial Project and i am using Adobe Robohelp 2017 to publish and Author the help guide.I have been asked to create a Responsive HTML5 generated help and i need to integrate the same with my product application. While i have created and generated the HTML 5 output and integrated the same with the application, i have been asked a question that can we share the .js files being generated while i am generating the Responsive HTML5 output with the customer. As, it comes under Legal and Licensing security and vulnerability threat. As a part of security i cannot provide .js (whether minifyed or unminifyed) to the customer. Is somewhere it is mentioned by the Adobe regarding that, if yes then please help me to provide the link.Or help me resolve the same, else i have to scrap it.Regards,RA
Hello again guys. I feel like I've been submitting a lot of bug defects lately. I found another problem in Robohelp 2017 Update 2 that seems really obvious, so much so that I'm wondering if it isn't something on my end. Could someone else test it out and tell me if the problem occurs for them as well? After generating Responsive HTML5 output (after reimporting the layout, as it is completely broken if you don't reimport the layout), the search feature does not work. It just hangs when you try to search. I've tried it in a few projects, including one of the sample projects:Does this work for anyone else? Thanks.
I just installed the latest patch for Robohelp 2017 and it generates Responsive HTML5 but it won't load. It looks like they broke something in the last update? When you open the generated output, it just hangs like this forever:
Hello,We are using RoboHelp 2015 to create chm files on Windows 10 1607 and are currently upgrading to Windows 10 1709. Explorer 11 is the default browser. The chm file is on the local C drive. When using links in a chm file to web sites we use New Window in the Hyperlink Options Display in frame. All works correctly in Windows 10 1607. However when we take the chm file to Windows 10 1709 clicking on the same link does nothing. If we change the option for the link to be Page Default (none) it will work in Windows 10 1709 showing the site in the chm panel. I have tried the same link in a word document and it does work correctly opening explorer to display the page. Does anyone know why opening a link to a web page from within a chm file does not open the page in a browser when using Windows 10 1709? In addition if the link is to a pdf file that is set to Page Default (none), again it will open in the chm panel but then a message shows up “Invalid plu
Hello,I use Robohelp 2017 and Chrome.Do you know why my WebHelp Output Menu freezes up in Chrome and I keep having to hit the refresh button to get it to work again? It seems to be ok in IE.Here is a detailed example:1. I click on "Acro" to view the Acronyms page.2. I click on the Acronyms page and scroll through the page to read it.3. When I click on "Basic Satcom Info" on the menu, it won't expand because it's stuck or locked up.4. I have to hit the refresh button to get the menu to expand.5. Now the menu will expand, until I click in the information pane to read the material. The menu will lock up again and I will have to hit refresh to expand it for the next item. Here is how I generate the presentation.Any ideas? My customer doesn't like having to refresh all the time. Thanks
Does anyone have recommendations for folks that translate RoboHelp projects into Spanish (Mexico-based clients)? Other than a couple companies that turned up in a general search, I'm not sure how/where to get started. If anyone has resources they have experience with (good or bad), I'd love some feedback and insight. We are using RoboHelp HTML v11 right now, plan to upgrade to 2015 soon but not sure if that would happen before this project's timeline. We current deliver a CHM file.
Editing my original post to bring my questions up to the top: 1. There's a lot of unused space on either side of my browser window (Chrome & IE) when I view help built with Indigo layout on larger screens/browsers. Is this typical behavior for that layout? Anyone see this behavior in their output?2. Has anyone found a work around to this behavior that allows the help content to fill all of the available width? I contacted Adobe support and was told there isn't a work around. That seems odd and is very limiting.Original message:I have a trial version of RH 2017 and am trying out the Indigo layout. When viewing the generated output, browser size impacts what parts of the output show and where. For example, in cases where the browser is displayed at larger widths, both the topic and a toc sidebar show up in the browser. As the browser size gets smaller, just the topic shows up and the tofc becomes available from a menu icon in upper right corner. My question is about cases
Big trouble, I have TCS3 and need to import/link FM documents with screenshots. The images are contained in achored frames. No matter what I change in the FM import settings, RoboHelp always rescales the images making them too small to read. I tried the option not to regenerate images (top right in the image settings dialog, I have a non-english UI) and also have tried setting the preferred size to 100% or 0%, no result the image size is always the same and too small. There are both referenced and embedded images, the problem is identical with both.I don't understand the reason for the problem, converting images in anchored frames should be a standard procedure for framemaker integration.Any suggestions or experiences with this feature? Does the image import work for you?
All of my topics have a gap at the top of the frame. As far as I can tell, there's nothing in the source that indicates that there should be a gap here. Is there any way to configure the output so that this gap does not display?
I installed and configured Roboserver on a machine and everything went smooth. I could log in and also publish the help to the server successfully.later, when I go to roboserver admin portal and under projects when i say View projects, the help does launch however, the ToC does not show up. Even the search does not work. I can click topic hyperlinks and browser.Any idea what is missing?
Hi allAm wondering if it is possible to change the default search path in the Find and Replace dialog, so that it is set to "Current Project" rather than "Current Window".I have to change this each and every time I do a search and it's getting wearing! Where is this value set in the code and is it possible to change it?Thanks in advanceLaura
Has anyone experienced the following in Indigo output for responsive help? I have a book in table of contents which has a list of topics underneath it. In the Indigo layout, when I click the tile that corresponds to this toc book (named Video Resources in my example images), I see tiles for each topic but those topic tiles are cut off on the right side of the browser. This 'cut off' issue didn't happen in RH 2017 prior to my installing Updates released by Adobe. Prior to the Updates, the Back button used to be in line with other tiles and all topic tiles fit in browser window. After the updates, the Back button displays on its own line above other tiles. It seems like the Back button being on it's own line created a shift in the tiles below it or caused something to be off with how the page renders?I have read some other discussion threads about dissatisfaction with the Back button in the Indigo layout and with limitations around being able to customize it (size, position, etc.). I hav
I'm converting from Webhelp to Responsive HTML5 output and created a new Master Page where all the parts (header, body, footer) are left-justified. When I generate my output, most of my topics are centered in the browser (IE11) with white space on the left (shown below) and right sides. My Master page header contains some right justified icons and java scripts and then the body section starts with a table. The Webhelp topics (original) topics all begin with a table. The good thing is the master page header and footer is placed in the output topics but the table is not (which we will manually replace). The topics that begin with text that do not have tables convert fine and are left justified like they should be with just extra whitespace on the right side. The only part that is not left justified is the footer (which my master page footer is left justified) but has white space in front of it like the centered topics do (see below).I don't know if this is an issue of missing HTML or somet
HISTORY:Edition: RoboHelp HTMLVersion: RoboHelp 2015Our Robohelp HTML online help output currently lives on our proprietary software platform. In order to protect confidential information that might be present within the topics published, we recently made a change so that when a user accesses online help, it checks to see if the user has an active login session to our platform. If they do, they are redirected to online help in a separate window. If they don’t, they are first directed to a platform login page, and then redirected to online help if the login is successful. This prevents users from copying the URL of online help, saving itto favorites, and then sending it to a user who is not registered in our platform who can just paste the URL into a new browser session to view online help.PROBLEM:Users are still able to access online help without having an active login session to our platform, BUT it only happens when the user has access or had access to our platform in the past and th
I'm working on converting a webhelp project to responsive HTML5. When I go into my project to change the snippits we have for our tables, I can change the color of the header of the table, but when I exit out of editing the snippit, the old color still appears in the table heading example. When I add the table snippet to a new topic the new color shows in the table heading color shows in the new topic, but when I generate Responsive HTML5 output, the old color for the table displays in the table heading. How to I edit the color in the snippet and have it remain. We do convert our table snippits to HTML so we can add content to them.
Background:We create CSH for all of our product's table fields We are currently using the TopicAlias marker to create tags in FrameMaker source that are defined as <FieldName>. The TableName values are Heading1, so they are being written to individual table-specific htm files.Issue:When we generate the help in RoboHelp, we get:The generic context sensitive help bookmarks: #CSH_xxx.TableName htm files are generated as TableName-.htmSo the lookup is now TableName-.htm#CSH_xxx What we really want, based on what the developers are looking for, is: TableName.htm#FieldName We want:To be able to define our own bookmark text for the context sensitive help (in this case FieldName, but could be FormName, etc.)..htm files without the appended hyphen. Is there a way to suppress the addition of these unwanted items in the URLs?
Dears,I have two questions:The first one:Does RoboHelp support the "Ratings & Feedback" features? If yes, which version and where can I find this? The second one:What are the differences between ProProf and RoboHelp tools? Thanks,Muna Al-Azzeh.
How can i resize a photo to a smaller file without loosing the quality of the image??
I am unable to configure the CHM files optimized for High-Resolution display. In Help and Manual tool, there is an option to configure the CHM to optimize for High-Resolution display. Is there any workaround to get the text appear larger in High-Resolution display without doing manually zoom in?
Hello,I am using RoboHelp 11 HTML version 11.0.0.179, my operating system is Windows 7 Professional. I am trying to generate either a Word or a PDF file but I am getting the following error: "Microsoft® Word has not been started on this computer. Launch Word and click the 'Start using Microsoft® Word' option before generating Printed Documentation again."Here is some of the troubleshooting that I did:Enable all macros in MS Word 2013.I created a blank project and tried to generate Printed Documentation still getting the same exact error message.Any help or suggestion is very welcome.Thank you in advance!
Using multiple versions of FM (10 and 2015), using insets in FM, inserting images in the FM insets by reference, inserting images as PDF files because the quality is good, linking FM book in RH....The PDF figures do not display in RH and display as blank white spaces. So no PDF images are output to help files, such as Microsoft HTML help (CHM). Other formats can be used for images, such as PNG, but the quality degrades in RH.The same applies to equations. They are blank in RH and have to be converted to PNG and inserted as an image/figure in FM in order to display with low quality in RH.Is there any way to use PDF images when linking FM files with insets in RH?Thanks.
Hi,There is a requirement that we received asking us to integrate voice over with Webhelp. So, I was wondering is it a possibility with any of the versions of Robohelp? If yes, which version allows us to do so and how?
I have a central CHM of a merged Robohelp HTML Help project in which I cannot find any search hits.In a different one built at another date I can find results. (this is independent on the subprojects chms being there or not. Alone that central CHM exposes the strange behaviour)The funny thing: a colleague cannot find search results in the same CHM (in which I can find results). OTOH, when I try the CHM where he can find resultsI don't find any. When I try the same on another machine, same picture with me.How can this be?--Christoph
Am trying to find out if we can reduce the font size of Index, Glossary, Filter, and Favorites for Responsive HTML output in Robohelp 2017 version?
