I'm using RH2015 and trying sharing whole topics (instead of just snippets) across projects using Resource Manager. However, I'm finding that this happens:1. Drag topicA in Folder1 in Project1 to Folder1 in Resource Manager . TopicA uses onlinehelp.css in the project root folder.2. Drag topicA to Folder1 in Project 2 from Resource Manager. TopicA in this project points to onlinehelp.css in Folder1, rather than maintaining the link to onlinehelp.css in the project root folder (that file does exist in project 2).As a result, I end up with Project 1's fonts, colours, branding in Project 2, which is not ideal. I'm guessing as a workaround I could apply a master page to all files in the output or something like that when I generate the CHM file, but it seems kinda messy while i'm working on files, and confusing to end up with so many CSS files. Hoping this is something I'm doing wrong!
Hi All, I wanted to touch base with the Adobe RoboHelp 15 community to ask if any of you are aware of the following issue when generating Responsive HTML5 Help output. I recently upgraded to RoboHelp 15 (12.0.4.454) and just recent noticed that Search Options is appearing in all help topics in the Help system. Please see the two screens below:If I then perform a search and return back to a topic the Search Options do go away from each help topic. However, the Search Options return when I refresh the Help system. Please see the three screens below.Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can resolve this Help output issue. We have a release in a couple of weeks I need to be able to generate a clean version of the Help system using RoboHelp 15.Thanks in advance for the support and assistance.Regards,Kurt Kroeber
Hi,Would it be possible to have in a Responsive HTML5 output all topics numbered automatically like:1. 1.1 1.22. 2.1 2.2 2.2.1 2.2.2 2.33.and so on? Something like in DITA, w/o needing to do this manually every time the chapter order is changed?Thank you
Hi,I generated a Responsive HTML5 help, and after I put it online, when I tried to look for a word, I got only 2 results, whereas when I searched the same word in the Word document generated from the same project there were many more.I activated the search options to look also for substrings, and I got 3 results. Is there anything else I should do in order to have this functionality work properly?I am using RH11 in an Win7 environment.Thank you
I am using RoboHelp 7 (for Word), producing WinHelp output. In many situations, the Navigation Pane appears blank in the browser. Here are a few situations:Internet Explorer 11: - Open file on local c drive with URL file://localhost/B:/MoT/CIS/Doc/Help/RoboHelpProject/!SSL!/WebHelp/helpfile.htm - I get message: "Internet Explorer restricted this webpage from runing scripts or ActiveX controls" but the navigation pane appears and works fine. - If I click the "Allow blocked content" button, the navigation pane goes blank! - Open a web url http:// ... - the navigation pane is blank. - adding the site to the "Trusted Sites" does not help. If I open the web url in Chrome or Opera, I get t
I have created a dynamic filter in a Responsive HTML5 layout. The filter seems to be working but not as expected. When I select a filter, the affected topics do not appear in the search (as expected) but they are still listed in the TOC (not as expected). And when you click the filtered topics in the TOC they are blank. My understanding was that the topics were supposed to be removed from the TOC as well as the search? When I conditionally tagged the topics I tagged them both at the TOC level and the Topic level. What am I doing wrong?
We are currently trying to get higher google rankings to bring more customers to our site (as I'm sure all web developers want). We've generated a user guide using the responsive HTML5 output. After checking our Google analytics the site crawlers are not indexing the pages at all. We have nearly 300 topics and only the main index.html page is being indexed. We have tried generating the sitemap.xml using the option within the responsive HTML5 settings and then uploaded the file to google site maps but it still skipped over all of the topics. Google won't craw the frames and therefore won't index the site. We've even tried updating the generated sitemap.xml by using the direct path to the article (i.e. https://www.qoppa.com/files/pdfstudio/guide/Articles/Annotating_and_Commenting_PDFs/Annotating_and_Commenting_PDFs.html ) instead of the one using the index page with a variable and still no luck. On the google website resources, if you go to ‘Fetch as Google’ under crawl, when using the d
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but RoboHelp 11 occasionally freezes when I am in HTML editor mode. The only solution I have found is to fire up Windows Task Manager and kill RoboHelp, thus losing any unsaved changes.Any ideas?Simon
Hi Everyone,When I try to view older web help systems in Goggle Chrome the display of the main page flickers. I then tried displaying the same help system in IE but the TOC panel was blank. What I would like to be able to do is view my legacy wen help systems in Chrome without a problem.Any thoughts?ThanksSteve
I'm getting errors when trying to install RoboSource Control (Server) on Windows 10, 64 bit. I experienced two dialog boxes near the end of the install.Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: '_reserved_lastInstallerAttempted'Key being added: '_reserved_lastInstallerAttempted'andThe installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2869.Then, it backs out all the changes it has made, Is Windows 10 supported with RoboSource Control 3.1? Is there a fix to get it installed?
OK, so a game that I regularly play has changed to mostly black...happens in FF and IE, on multiple sites where you can access the game. Reinstalled java+flash players. You can select things as normal but you can only see background effects i believe...any ideas?Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
Yesterday I thought I would take a shortcut and copy/paste the Index file from one project into a another project. The problem is, I was careless and copy/pasted the Table of Contents file by mistake, renamed it for the current project, saw what I'd done when the TOC changed right away, then had to fix things in a hurry. I put the original Table of Contents file back, but Robohelp remembers links to baggage files from the bad TOC that are not in the current project, and displays them in the Project Manager with a red X through them. I can't find any way to delete them. How do I clean this up?Thanks!
Hello we upgraded from RoboServer8 to RoboServer9 and from RoboHelp8 to RoboHelp10 and now all of the help projects on the server return unexpected search results. Meaning that we search for terms that we know are in our help project, such as "delete" and "piping" and no results are returned. Other terms, search results are returned. We now have customers reporting issues like this and need to fix this ASAP. I have searched Adobe resources here and found a couple of patches, scripts, etc., but nothing has fixed this issue. Through the troubleshooting process, it appears that it might be the server instead of the client RoboHelp since it is affecting all projects. After each patch, or restart of the server, I have tried to republish, but this has not fixed the problem. I had admin change config on server not to index there, but use the client. This took quite a while to complete (over 24 hours). Afterwards, I republished and this did
Hello,I noticed a different discussion thread where a RoboHelp user reported an issue where no topics were displaying in the TOC pane on the left in IE 11. The user saw the TOC in Firefox and Chrome. I am having a similar issue, except I cannot see a new topic added to the TOC in IE 11 after I generated it in RoboHelp HTML 10. The topic displays in the TOC pane as expected in Firefox and Chrome. I believe the user's issue was fixed by upgrading to RoboHelp 11. We do not have the budget to do this. I was wondering if the issue I'm reporting is the same issue as the other one reported in this forum. If it is linked to the other issue, is upgrading to RoboHelp 11 the only solution?Thank you,Sandy
RH10Hi, I have a project that is recreated with each release to import Frame8 source files. This go-round the client wants to add a confidentiality statement to a footer. I created a master page with the footer to apply to all topics, and edited my custom CSS to format it. But the only placement options I can find are to have it at the end of the content (i.e. could be high up on a short topic), or fixed at the bottom of the window (on a long topic the footer then overlaps any content that has not been scrolled to).I've seen fixes online that involve adding div wrappers, but I was hoping for a "set it and forget it" CSS solution, since the project is recreated each time (3x year).Any ideas, or does the client have to choose one of the two options above? Can the div wrappers be set up on the master page and then broadcast to all topics? Thanks,Laurie
Hi EveryoneWe are considering a migration to RoboHelp but our web administrator advises the WebHelp output cannot be hosted on our Drupal™ content management system.Has anyone been able to integrate the RoboHelp development environment with Drupal?RegardsGeorge ChapmanTechnical Writer
Hi all,Can anyone check whether the following occurs in RH2015?1. Select a couple of paragraphs.2. Click the Bullet icon to create an unordered list.3. Switch to HTML view and check if the list has something like style="list-style: disc;" (or circle, or similar) hard-coded.e.g. <ul style="list-style: disc;"><li>My bullet 1</li><li>My bullet 2</li></ul>Thanks in advance.
Hi EveryoneWe are considering a migration to RoboHelp but our web administrator advises the WebHelp (and we assume WebHelp Pro as well) output cannot be hosted on our Drupal™ content management system. After reading some of the available documentation, it seems like RoboHelp Server may help overcome this problem.Has anyone been able to integrate the RoboHelp Pro development environment/ Robhelp Server with Drupal?RegardsGeorge ChapmanTechnical Writer
I I want to use the second image in my online help. I am using RoboHelp10 with RoboServer9. My search works properly when my search box shows as in the 2nd image here. Is there a way to control this? In addition, sometime my project, once generated, is displaying "show" at the top of each topic and when this is available, typically the TOC isn't showing and when I click show, the TOC displays. Any help you can provided would be appreciated. I am generating WebHelp Pro.Message was edited by: Lana Johnson
I started a trial of RH in order to evaluate its ability to generate JavaHelp[/OracleHelp] output. From the online documentation and from the Adobe tutorial I watched I was led to believe that there were generators for both of JavaHelp and OracleHelp. However, I don't see these output types as being available. Am I missing something? Can anyone help with this? TIA.Note: I have seen some vague references in the forum to JavaHelp no longer being supported, but I can't see any definitive documentation on this.Note2: I have a large Java application that I'd like to integrate RH generated output into and I'd like this to be pure Java (having to use Web Help or HTML help and manually triggering a browser to run is a non-starter).
Is it still possible to purchase Robohelp 10?We have various users all using 10. We need another licence to purchase but none of us can find this on the siteany links appreciated
I have seen this same issue for IE11 and Robohelp 11. I did not see a resolution. It seems that I am experiencing the same issue. Any help is appreciated.Issue:In IE11 the help opens, but there is an additional small blank window that also it opens along with it, It does not display in the main screen, but when you close the help window then that small window displays in the main screen then the user has to manually close it. This is not an issue in IE10.Robohelp Version 12.0.4.454IE 11 version 11.0.9600.18426Using Windows 7Robohelp updates 1-4 have been applied.

Hi All , I have been using robohelp for a little while now great product....We have recentley upgraded to Office 2013 and it seems that Robohelp 10 does not support output to Word when Office 2013 is used - ( Printed Document output works "Most" of the time on Office 2010) Other than rolling back to 2010 (my current solution ) has anyone else come across a way of making Robohelp 10 work with Word 2013 - If Adobe are looking at this - are there any plans to release updates that will ensure compatiblity ? Many Thanks
Background:I write help content for three different software applications we develop. Until recently, the help was delivered as CHMs. I've been 'converting' that content to Responsive HTML5. Furthermore, I've combined the content into a single project; three helps combined into one - one master project that contains topics for all three applications. The Table of Contents root is basically three books; one for each application, and users can drill down into the content from there.I chose to do this because, although these three applications are independent, they are also related, and I wanted users to be able to quickly and easily access information across all three applications from one help system.Problem:The issue I'm having is where users use the search facility to look for content, and the search results don't indicate which application they relate to.For example, in application 'A' it's possible to scan documents into a client's record, and save them. It's also possible to do thi
