Hi guys,Is it possible to make CSH calls within a merged help project without hard coding the full web address in the link?For example, in a topic I want to link to a search topic which exists in a project for functions common across all modules.At the moment I just insert a link following Peter Grainge's source project set (described on his website, but modified slightly to work with Multiscreen HTML5).I was thinking maybe it was possible to create the links using CSH Topic ids as this would solve a number of issues if we ever need to support more than the desktop output (long story why we aren't using Responsive HTML5 and not something I can change in the short term). However, I seem to need to specify the full web address, which means the links are incorrect when I publish to our review environment.Instead of inserting my link as:http://mydomain.com/index.htm?rhcsh=1?&rhmapid=SEARCHTOOLI'm hoping to enter the link something like:rhmapid=SEARCHTOOLAnd have it just do the CSH call

Hi all, I'm brand new to using Robohelp 11. I'm converting a small project from Framemaker into help, as a trial.I'm using RH11 and FM 13 from TCS5.When I import some files from Framemaker, I go to Project Settings, click Edit under Framemaker and am able to map FM to RH styles fine.Then I do some generation, work some more on the project, go back in to the same dialog, and the + sign beside each of the FM styles is no longer there. So I am now unable to make any style changes (for example, I want to change the colour of my Heading 1 style in RH).Can anyone tell me why this is happening or what I have done?!Any help gratefully received.ThanksLaura

My topic titles are not sorting correctly in the Search Tab.  I've included a screen shot, so you can understand.  What controls the sort here?The topic title matches the H1 header inside the topic.  Wth?Shannon

Dear,I was using RoboHelp 8.0 for our help file compiling, in the past time, I was using HTML Help for all my applcations. Now I want to create a WebHelp for my apllication, I got a problem while browse the help contents. Here is my problem, in contents, there are many books in there, when I select one page in book "Get Started" and then click a hyperlink in this page, it should go to the page "Creating a blank system" under the book "Creating a System' and it go there indeed, my problem here is that the left pannel the contents, there is no change, it still stay in "Get Started" book, it cannot redirect to book "Creating a System' ->"Creating a blank system". would you please guide me how to fix it, this is very important for me I think.I need to let you know this works well for HTML help(.chm).thanks for your help,NgCC

Hi,I am trying to find the API to set the style in RoboHelp Script. In the Clean Project Example (as in the following code snippet), it shows how to find a undefined style and remove that style. In this case, instead of token.removeAttribute("style"), is it possible to set a style, for example, a paragraph tag, say "body". Also, is it possible to find a paragraph tag, say "Normal", and replace it with "body" paragraph tag.if(token.tokenType == RoboHelp.TokenType.TOKENTAG){//Does this token have style attribute?if(token.getAttribute("style") != ""){//This token has a style attribute. Help please. What am I doing wrong?We have RH11 and publish output as webhelp. Someone in the company gave me permission for a sharepoint site so I could implement version control, but we are having all sorts of trouble. I am not a sharepoint user, so I'm fumbling in the dark. My RH and Doc-To-Help version control experience is based on using a system someone else has already created for me.I thought this would be easy and sold my team on the idea, but now team members are overwriting each other all the time. We cannot seem to lock a project so that no one else can edit/overwrite. We get messages on a topic level that we do not have permission to work on them, but we want the entire project to be locked. Also, another team member keeps opening files from SharePoint site instead of from their local drive.Where is detailed information on best practices for setting up and using RH version control system with SharePoint? Robohelp 2015. Can I make two different styles of drop-down hotspots available? For example, could I have regular drop-down hotspots italic but a special class of drop-down hotspots roman--without resorting to inline styling?Hoping for a solution within RoboHelp, but I'm open to ideas for CSS.

Dear readers,For a project I need Robohelp 2015 to convert a Word 2010 text containing numbered section headers (1. Heading1, 1.1. Heading2, etc.). I would like Robohelp to generate separate topics for each of these headers. For un-numbered headers (Word default) this works fine, for the numbered headers I get one single topic with the headers converted to bookmarks. Anyone knows how to make Robohelp generate separate topics for each numbered header?I use Robohelp 2015 on Windows 10 Pro.Many thanks in advance!

Using: RoboHelp 10, version 10.0.0.287Steps to reproduce issue:1. Click File > Generate > Primary Layout (Multiscreen_HTML5)2. In Generate window click [Save and Generate]3. Wait4. Click [View Results]5. Results show entire sections of the TOC duplicated in other sections.  Its taking 10 plus times to repeat the generation before all of the TOC items are correct and I can publish.  It's not stopping me from getting the job done, but it's certainly a time killer.  Background: I inherited a working version.  I did not create it.  I have more than basic knowledge of HTML, but I'm not a developer.  I do not have the option to upgrade beyond RH10.  I have researched this multiple times, but have not been able to find any fix.  The only other thing I have seen occasionally are error messages related to toctree.js file, but I don't always get those.  Even when I don't, this still happening, but I have included that error just in case it may b

I've been the sole author of a moderately large WebHelp project for several years now.  Due to organizational changes, including a change in my duties, my leadership would like to me to transition the project to three (3) new authors who will assume the help authoring duties.  I'm currently running RH11 but will be upgrading to RH15 to assist with the transition.  Since we've never had more than one author for the project, I have a few questions for the community regarding multi-authoring:Required Software:  As I mentioned, I will be upgrading toRH15.  We have an Adobe volume license and will be purchasing RH15 licenses for the new authors.  Is there any other software that needs to be purchased for the group or per user to facilitate multiple authoring?  I've seen RoboSource Control mentioned in many posts in this community.Cloud Computing:  Does the RH15 software have to reside on the user’s PC?  My company has shifted to cloud computing.&

When doing a printed output in .docx format, i use default as the header. The help says:HeadersHeaders repeat at the top of each page and are blank on the first page of sections. The name ofthe document appears on even-numbered pages, left-justified. Hello, I am using RH HTML 11 and have created a Master Page with headers and footers and applied it to all topics (500+) in my project as every topic must display the same header/footer info.   The problem is, the footer does not show up in about 10 topics (in either the preview, generated, or published version).  I can see the placeholder in the HTML of those topics <?rh-placeholder type="footer" ?>, yet the footer appears as an empty box in the Design view of the topics – not with the actual content of the footer which I see on the other 490+ topics with the Master Page applied (not sure why it is doing that). (Meanwhile, the Master Page header appears and works just fine on all topics). I double-checked that the Master Page is applied and is set up correctly. I tried removing it and reapplying it to the 10 topics, but nothing changed.  What else should I do? Thanks in advance!

I have a WebHelp file and I have created an additional toolbar button that, when clicked, opens a pdf version of the Help file (so users can easily print all the Help). This has been working fine with IE6 but when it was tested on a machine with IE7 installed, the pdf wouldn't open. Does anyone know if it is IE7 that is causing the problem (seems likely as it is the only variable that has changed) and if there is anything that can be done about it? I have searched Adobe Reader forums and Robo forums to no avail. Any help appreciated.

People,Does anyone know how to set cell spacing in tables in Adobe Robohelp 2015, so that there is a space between the left-hand border and the text in the generated Word document, please? Using RoboHelp 11, can anyone describe the best approach for providing the same image, at varying resolutions, to accommodate different screen sizes? I think this can be done by modifying the CSS to recognise the screen resolution, and serve the appropriately-sized image. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello,I have a project I'm working on right now where I created Printed Document output as Word document. I'm manually fixing styles and formatting. I'm trying to add a .05" inner margin on the left margin of every cell in each table. I'm following these steps:Select the table.On the Layout ribbon, click on Propertiesin the Table Properties window, click Optionschange the left margin to 0.05"Click OKSomewhere in this procedure, for the last 10 attempts this process has crashed Word, requiring shutting down the program and re-opening and dealing with Recovered documents. This is not the first time this has happened to me. Almost consistently when working in table formatting in a Word document created by RoboHelp for Printed Document output, I run into this.Any thoughts or solutions? Robohelp 11 WebhelpAnswers to this question in the forums say that to generate webhelp with an expanded toc requires using 508, thus eliminating other features. However, has anyone tested under-the-cover methods?This link looks useful. It appears my user defined variables file has been corrupted. When I generate the HTML5 output, the project shows up correctly, but each variable is gone and replaced with the "ERROR (variable_missing...)" wording.Please help! Where can I find the variable file and copy an older version into the latest project?

Caveats: I am new to this forum and have been using RH 2015 since the end of May. I'm somewhere between beginner and intermediate with CSS and HTML, and I know nothing about JQuery or javascript.I have tweaked the Desktop Catalog with Home Page multiscreen layout so that it has a fixed header and the content scrolls up underneath the header. This works well and looks lovely until clicking a link to an anchor, such as when using the MiniTOC to navigate in a topic. The anchor loads underneath the header at the top of the browser window instead of below the header at the top of the visible space.After investigating the problem, I had hoped that I had found a fix at Hashtag Links that Don't Headbutt the Browser Window, but it didn't work.More research and digging into how RH configures its bookmark anchors and I discovered that the bookmarks are configured with a     <a name="blahblah"></a>tag for the anchors instead of a     <h1 id="b

I am using RoboHelp 2015. One of the outputs that we use is XML Outputs. In our template we us a placeholder for breadcrumbs. These work fine for our CHM and WebHelp outputs.I saw in the RoboHelp help that breadcrumbs are not generated for XML Outputs.I was wondering if anyone has found a way to "force" breadcrumbs for XML Outputs.Thank you,Debbie Sarig

Is there a way to copy my entire project (styles, master pages, all topics and images, and snippets and tags) to rename and make a new project? I want to use the original project as a start for my new one.

We have just purchased the 2015 Technical Suite. We have been using Robohelp 7. We branched our data so I am working with a separate folder. We do not not have links to Framemaker, snippets, or variables. We have an enormous Help project (almost 40,000 html files.) Before we start, yes, I know we need to reduce the size, use snippets, variables and Framemaker. I inherited this thing and have plans to do all that, but first, I'd like to convert to the upgraded software. Also, we are using Microsoft Visual Studio as source control.When I opened my first project, I got the message that it needed to upgrade. I expected that. But is it going have ask me to check in every one of those 40,000 files? And it is deleting syn files. Is that a bad thing? I guess the two most important questions are : Am I going to have to check in every singe file and is it deleting these files OK? It's scaring me....Any advice before I go on?Thanks.Susan
