I'm working with RH 9. I produce Webhelp projects based on FM related books.This new book is based on existing projects and formats.But one thing is new: There are many text insets.My problem: The file that includes text insets has corrupt crossreferences.They are underlined and have the right color, but do not work. Every cross reference starts with  What can I do? Any known work around? Is it a known problem?

First, I'm sorry if I post this in the wrong category, but it seems the general RoboHelp category has been removed.I recently upgraded from RoboHelp 11 to RoboHelp 2015 on my Windows 2008 computer. I installed the available updates, patch 2 I believe, so there are no updates that I'm currently missing.I have converted my project, but when I started to work in RoboHelp I noticed that it responds very slowly. I'm really just trying to add new topics and edit existing ones; I haven't tried creating any output yet (normally, I would use the Microsoft HTML Help and WebHelp options). I have not experienced any problems with my projects before upgrading. Hello,I'm trying to create a project template that can be reused and has files, topics, images, etc. that need to be uniform across all authors and projects. I've learned to import topics, etc. rather than copying in Windows Explorer. I haven't figured out a way to import images, either.How do I get image files from a previous project? I can get the images in the "project" when I view in Windows Explorer, except when I open the template project in RoboHelp, they're nowhere within the project. I can get to the the images in the Image name field using the open folder icon and looking in the root folder level, but nowhere in the image folders within the project (i.e., select the drop down arrow in the Images in project folders heading.Is there a better way to do this? Dear RH experts,I'm creating an HTML5 Help system for a web-based software application that has two versions: Cloud and On-premise. The Help systems will have some shared content and some product-specific content. I could set conditions on the topics and generate two separate Help systems. But my developers would like a more elegant solution. They don't want duplicated content. Instead, they want a single output, and they want to use scripts and tags in topics to identify content that should be displayed or hidden dynamically, depending on the product version. The script would run when the Help system is launched, and the appropriate content would be displayed based on the tags.Does anyone know how to do this? Would this have any implications for Search? My bookmarks, when assigned, are a horrible shade of green and underlined.  I can not find prefernces to change the look of the bookmarks in the CSS or anywhere else, all I know is that I don't want the expletive deleted bookmarks to be green and underlined. I want the bookmark to look like any other text.Where in the tanj are the bookmark "look" preferences?I have a deadline and I can't release the help files looking like this.- Dana Kincaid

Can someone please provide step-by-step instructions to add Print button on Webhelp. I'm currently using Robohelp 10. I saw some suggestions using javascript in skin, but there isn't a step-by-step procedure available.I have been seraching for this from past many days. It'd be of great help to me. Thanks!

I am currently using RoboHelp 10. I receive this error when publishing. It does successfully publish though. Was wondering what was going on. Can it be there is someone at the user end in it, at the same time?

After spending a fair amount of time searching for way's to improve my RH efficiency, I've covered a lot of ground with things like Macro Express, (THANK YOU Peter Grainge) a specific Advanced FAR tool, (it took me FOREVER to find a sturdy program w/ hundreds of FAR's out there) and a few others.There is one thing though that I've been having problems with lately that I''m hoping the trusty Forums can answer. In recent projects I've been encountering an increasing number of larger images, many over 200px high. I've set a sort of standard for anything above this height to be placed into a DHTML Drop-down Hotspot. I quickly setup a toolbar with just 'Insert Image' & 'Create DD Hotspot' buttons, and flip between CTRL+G and the toolbar for images and DD's. I got frustrated at having to hotkey or use the toolbar and navigate to the top level folder every time to find my icoCamera.jpg.Is there a way, tool, or sort edit to change and or set the default folder path when inserting an image

Hi, has anyone else experienced problems displaying WebHelp output in the Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10? I have found that that CSS styles are not being used in any of the topics, and images are being blocked. When I try to access the Start page, it is being redirected to whnjs.htm. The WebHelp content displays correctly on other browsers on windows 10 (IE, firefox, chrome, etc.). Any advice would be appreciated.

Though Snippets are good reusable components, there are requirements where one complete topic would be required as a reusable component. Can we use HTML in placeholder? If yes, what is the syntax of it? Request you to help me with it.

Hello,I need to create both a WebHelp project file and a printed document file. I'd like to first generate to Word and then create the pdf in Word. Is there some way to generate the help file into a specified Word template and have the styles in RoboHelp convert to Word styles?Thanks,MDawn

Hi,I'm using RoboHelp 9 and I've inserted couple of Captivate videos in between text. When I generate WebHelp I see that these videos play automatically when the page is opened. There is a play bar underneath the video through which I can pause the video, but I was wondering if there is a way to disable autoplay function of these videos? I've tried inserting:autoplay="false" <param name="play" value="false" />But it doesn't seem to work.Can someone with expertise in HTML please help?Thanks!

We have a web-based application developed in Java with Bootstrap. Using RoboHelp 11 we generated WebHelp and were able to call it from the application using the JavaScript file RoboHelp_CSH.js that came with RoboHelp 11.When we chose to generate Responsive HTML 5 the help window did not appear. We think the problem may be with the JavaScript code inside the Responsive HTML 5 help files.Would it help to upgrade to RoboHelp 2015?Is RoboHelp_CSH.js updated in this version of RoboHelp?ThanksPeter

I recently upgraded four RoboHelp projects from version 11 to RH 2015. The first three converted fine and I generated WebHelp output when finished.The fourth seemed to upgrade correctly, but when I tried to generate it, RH crashed. Nothing happened. The Output window did not appear and I could not exit RoboHelp. I had to kill it with Task Manager or wait until I got a Windows 7 prompt stating that the application had stopped working. I have restored the original project several times -- and even successfully generated it in RH 11 -- but I get similar results after upgrading it to RH 2015. During the upgrade attempts, I have gotten a message stating that something was wrong with the .ali file. I created a topic and added a hyperlink to another topic. The hyperlinked topic included a hyperlink to another topic that included numbered steps. When the web help is generated the numbering is missing from the steps. What do I need to do to have the numbering appear? The styles are correct so it isn't a CSS problem.

I am using RoboHelp 2015. Is there any way by which I can use topic titles in snippets? For example if I have a snippet with snippet name as snippet1.hts and have a topic named as topic1.html with topic title as Topic1, when I insert snippet1, can I display Topic1 in snippet as a variable?If not, at least can I display topic title or any topic property as a variable in the topic?

I'm not sure I fully "get" the concept behind the new snippet functionality in RH7. I understand the part about how they are reusable blocks of text that you can create once and insert in many places. That makes sense, but I rarely include *exactly* the same block of text in multiple places. What I do, though, is to include very similar instructions in many places. The steps vary slightly depending on the topic. That is, the topic called "Creating X" includes numbered steps for setting up X; the topic called "Creating Y" includes numbered steps for setting up Y; and the topic called "Creating Z" includes numbered steps for setting up Z. Except for the names of what's being created (X vs Y vs Z), the step-by-step instructions are the same. I was hoping to use a snippet for the text in topics X, Y, Z that is identical (most of it), while somehow inserting a variable in the snippet that would change from X to Y to Z, depending on the topic. Can that be done?

Hello everyone,I'm using RoboHelp 2015 outputting to WebHelp (not my choice). Is there anyway to merge existing User Defined Variables (UDV) into one name? Some of my companies are turning into one big company and I need the UDV names to also change.For example, I have two UDVs called "abc123" and one called "321cbe". I need them to both to be "abc123".I have tried manually tweaking the rhvariable.apj but just keep corrupting my project even if I delete the *.cpd file. Search and Replace is not finding my instances.This is one big help system using UDVs, Snippets, Build Tags, and Multiple TOCs.  Thank you,Tawni

I compiled a CHM file using RoboHelp HTML 11. When I double-click the compiled CHM file, the Search tab works just fine. But when I view the Help in the application that uses the CHM file, the Search tab does not work. When a search term is typed in the Search tab, the "No topics found" message displays.

I am using FM 12 and RH 11. I am linking the FM book in RH and everything is fine except the FM glossary I does not show up in RoboHelp. I followed these steps from the adobe site as follows:"Select Convert Glossary in the Content Settings dialog box, and select one of the following options:Add To Existing Glossary Add the FrameMaker glossary to the RoboHelp glossary of the project. You can select the glossary from the list.Create New Associated Glossary Enter a name for a new associated glossary that is associated with the existing glossary in the RoboHelp project."I selected the "Create new associated Glossary". After I generate the Multiscreen HTML 5, the Glossary is empty. Does anybody else have this issue? Please Help!Thanks.

Hello there,I am currently using RH 9.  We have numerous homes for our eManual.  We publish using Web Pro, and also generate the .htm file to a websitThe project that is published to the server does not have scroll bars when using the search option.  The results of the search produce many options however I can't get to the bottom of the search as there are no scroll bars however, if I open the project on the server with Google Chrome the scroll bars appear.I don't see this problem when it comes to opening the project not published on the server.Can anyone help me with getting those scroll bars on the project published to the server using IE?Thanks
