I have been using merged CHM files for years now, but all of a sudden when I open the master CHM, I can't see index words for my other merged projects. From the TOC, I am able to open the topics. Any suggestions?
I ran a Search and Replace just to locate help files where the word "codec" appeared. I just clicked Find All and did not specify anything in "Replace With."It found two files. I closed the Find and Replace Options dialog box, but the results window remains open. It is located on my second monitor and the top part of the window is off the screen so I can't click a Close button in the title bar -- if there is one. I have closed and reopened the project, Exited RoboHelp and rebooted my workstation. The window remains opens. Not only in the project where I performed the search but in every RoboHelp project I have tried opening so far. How do I get rid of this window?
I'm using RH 11 and generating HTML Help. When I generate the chm file, I get all three of the tabs I want: Index, Contents, and Search. But if I change the chm file name, the tabs disappear and I get the Show or Hide button, which doesn't work.I'm changing the chm file name by clicking Single Source > HTML Help > Properties, and then changing the name in in the Outot folder and File name field. Why do my tabs disappear if I change the chm file name? The same thing happens if I change the name after I compile the chm file.
I'm hoping someone can help me. I ran into some problems with a robohelp project (yup, gambled and ran the project over a network and lost) but to make a long story short, I recovered an older back up of the project I had on my computer and then imported all the topics from the broken server version and I'm mostly back in business. The one thing I don't have though is the more recent TOC and Index Files. I tried just copying and pasting the .hhc and .hhk files from the broken project folder to the recovered project folder but when I'm in Robohelp I still don't see these TOC options? What can I do?
I am running RH10 with Source control. I have a topic that has a red check to show it is checked out. I open source control and is shows the topic checked out exclusively to me. If I click check in all, I get this message, $/PATH/topic_name.htm is not Checked Out. How can it say its not checked out when I have the red check next to the topic in the Project manager AND source control has a big red check with a status of Checked Out to you (exclusive)?Ideas? It seems to be only with this one topic. Other topics check in and out perfectly. Thanks,dv
RoboHelp 2015.Selected a hyperlink that is currently displayed in a frame with Page Default (none) as the value.Selected "Display in auto-sizing popup".Saved the change.Previewed the topic and clicked the hyperlink. The following screen shows the Script Error. Is anyone familiar with this problem? After I undid the changes and open again in Preview mode, there was no error. Thanks!Carol Levine
Hello,We are thinking about having 7 different projects and having all of them go through Version Control. I was wondering if it is possible for Version Control to handle that many projects. Currently, we have two projects going through VC.Thanks,Andre
I was mucking around in the layout.css to adjust the horizontal placement of my header (just moving it from left-aligned to centered by changing the 3 em in the body.media-desktop div.header div logo to 15em), when lo and behold my filter checkboxes were altered as shown below, before and after. I never changed anything close to the Filter. BEFORE: Normal checkboxes AFTER: ABNORMAL (multiple format changes to the checklist)Note that in the "after" shot, I can actually click on the "remains" of the checkbox to filter.
I'm single-sourcing my FM book into RH (TCS version 2015). I've auto-mapped my FM paragraph styles in RH, and in the Conversion Settings, told RH to Convert Autonumber to Text. This has worked perfectly, except for one weird thing: if I have an alpha list that extends to G, the space between the period and the following text disappears. When looking at the HTML for the list, it looks like this: The yellow highlighted part is how it should appear. The blue highlighted area is what G is automatically converted to. It's in every topic linked from that FM book that has a long alpha list - not just this one.I can manually fix this by adding that span tag, but that defeats the purpose of single-sourcing. I shouldn't have to go through all topics that have a long alpha list and fix this. Why is it doing this, and how do I fix it?
I have just upgraded my TCS from 4.0 to Release 2015. In the process of updating my team's templates, I've discovered an issue that I've not run into before. We have a custom CSS. We single-source our FM manuals into RH, and the custom CSS helps keep our topics formatted as we like them. When applying the custom CSS in RH, everything looks and works like a charm. We also have a custom master page that inserts a header bar and footer bar on each page. I've gone into the Master Page file's Properties, and applied the custom CSS to that Master Page. However, when I apply the Master Page in the Topic list, the format of the body looks different than it did when just the CSS was applied (when no Master Page is applied). I've included two screen shots - one of just the CSS applied, and the other with the Master Page applied.I've tried applying both the CSS and Master Page through the General and Appearance tabs of the properties dialog, but I still get the same issue. I've also checked out the
I am attempting to customize a Responsive HTML5 layout based on Theme1_Standard. Once I save it, I can no longer re-open it using the Customize Selected Layout button. I get an error: "...\MasterThemeSchema.xml file has invalid data". This has happened several times (with several attempts to customize a new layout). It also happens with the Theme2_Government layout. I was originally working with an imported project but have since created a brand new help project, and still I get the same error. Any suggestions?
Background:I've been using Robohelp since v5 - we're currently using v9.0.2. We create Microsoft Word user manuals for our product which I have created Robohelp projects for to generate webhelp. I use the "link" feature rather than "import" so that it is easier for me to update the webhelp when the word doc is updated. We use pagination for heading levels 1-3 so it generates 50-200 HTML topic files per webhelp.Everything works fine from a customer point of view.Earlier this week a developer who was running a Burp security scan on our site sent me a report which showed the following:Issue detailThe application may be vulnerable to path-relative style sheet import (PRSSI) attacks. The response contains a path-relative style sheet import, and so condition 1 for an exploitable vulnerability is present (see issue background). The response can also be made to render in a browser's quirks mode. The page does not contain a doctype directive, and so it will always be rendered in quirks mode. Th

With a Robohelp MS HTML Help project, would it be possible to dump all text contents into one big file?--Christoph
I inherited a RoboHelp project created in RH 11 and now in RH 2015. I have used Baggage Files in the past to allow my users to open, download PDF files. When I go to the Baggage Files folder in my project, it appears that there are exact replica of the folder structure. I have searched on the Internet and Adobe sites to describe the Baggage Files feature. I still am unable to figure out what would happen if I removed the folders. Does this have something to do with the mapping when publishing my WebHelp? Why do I have the folders in the Baggage File folder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hello Community!Hoping someone might be able to help with this urgent issue. All of a sudden, my.cpd project file has been corrupted and cannot be opened. Nothing out of the ordinary happened overnight to cause this error in the morning. Other project files open fine, but the main project I always work in has now become corrupt and RoboHelp 2015 says that it cannot be opened.Has anyone ever experienced this before? Any tips to look through before contacting Adobe directly would be much appreciated.I have backups of the .cpd that I could load. To bring in the most up to date htmls though, is there any quick way of doing that besides dragging and dropping each individual topic page into the older version of the .cpd?
I am using RoboHelp 2015. The title of a generated .chm file is not what I wanted. How do I change it?
I'm deleting the CPD file to clear it and let it rebuild but it isn't rebuilding it's restoring from several days ago. I'm using RoboHelp 2015. I understood that if you delete the CPD file that it rebuilds but every time I delete the file it restores a copy from several days back. So does it rebuild or restore? If it is supposed to rebuild why isn't it?
Hello,A client is asking to add a fifth button to the toolbar shown below. Content is generated in WebHelp, using RoboHelp 2011. The button would need to open a page. Is this possible? If so, any pointers would be much appreciated!
I am using RoboHelp 2015 to generate WebHelp output. The development team would like me to check in the files into TFS so that they can pick up the files and integrate them into the build.I am looking for some best practices here as I am running into some issues every time I try to check the files back in. For example, I need to manually track the files I have added/renamed/deleted in the RH project. We have discussed the following options:Deleting the contents of the WebHelp output folder in TFS every time I want to check in the new files. This works, but does not seem like a very elegant option.Zipping up the contents of the WebHelp output folder and checkin/checkout this single fileThis works well for me, but the devs have to create a separate process to unzip the file every time they generate a build, which they are not crazy about.Checking out all files in folder, overwrite the files with the new files, manually add the new files, and then check everything back in.This work fin
Hi,How to import a Help and Manual project in Robohelp? Using reverse engineering i can import html files but how to preserve the Snippets, variables and conditional build tags ?Please suggest a solution to convert a Help and Manual source project to Robohelp. Thanks in Advance,Remesh
I can see my browse buttons when I generate my HTML Help layout and view the result from the "Result: HTML-Help has been successfully generated" dialog box and press "View Result" -- but not when I run the CHM file as a stand-alone file. Help!
I've been building a large project for several months. About a year ago we upgraded from RH9 to RH11 with no issues. We just discovered that there are now issues with the full text search. Investigation shows that anything loaded prior to about a month ago comes up in the search, but anything loaded after that does not come up. I've checked the whxdata folder in the published files and found that the packagexx_xml.js files are all dated February 3, 2016 even though this has been published since then. Should I delete the whxdata files and let them recreate? If I look in the project files there are no package files and if I open index.htm and do a search I get "null" for everything. Do I understand that these package files hold the text search information? Obviously something has gone haywire. Might I be having JavaScript issues? Any suggestions?
