Can someone please share how one can set up the Help project to open up with the left Navigation pane hidden by default? Thank you.

Anyone know any "under the hood" changes that can be made to make the "Highlight search results" field in the Search be set to unchecked rather than checked? I can see in the SSL recipe where to enable it to appear or not appear (and change the colour of the highlighting), but nothing about making it be set to unchecked in the resulting WebHelp output (or any of the other forms of help output where it can appear).

We've created a Product_Table style. When a user inserts a new table using that style, we'd like the table header and table text to use our TableHeading and TableText styles, not the default styles. We have two writers who are very fluent in HTML and RoboHelp and neither have been able to find a way to accomplish this goal. The end result is that the users have to manually apply the TableHeader and TableText styles after inserting the table.Thanks in advance for any help.Carol

Hi All,We do not typically write indexes or glossaries for our product or P&P documentation, but the Responsive HTML 5 layout has icons for both in the Sidebar (Layout Customization). We would prefer to remove these, but I haven't sorted out whether it's possible. It appears it is not simple if it is possible. I tried the 1x1 invisible png, but Layout Customization forces you to use the index.png and glo.png file names. I renamed the invisible png as index.png and it left a 1x1 px white spot in the header. Meanwhile, if you mouse over where the icon was, it makes it look like there's a clickable icon there. Any suggestions?Thanks,Matt

I have RoboHelp 2015, 64 bit computer, Windows 8.Software is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 2015I manually created a Browse Sequence named it, added files, etc. As a test I also created a second browse sequence and let RH create the browse sequence and set the level to zero.I am creating Microsoft HTML helpIn my Window (in Output setup) I have checked in the Tri-pane Tabs and Windows to include Browse SequenceWhen I view the help file, I cannot get the Browse Sequence to appear.I also tried creating a WebHelp (checked to include the Browse sequences in settings) and that too does not display the browse sequence. I also checked the enable browse sequence under navigation in WebHelp settingsFrom reading other topics, I registered (as an Admin) C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 2015\Redist\x64\HHActiveX.dll. The registration succeeded, rebooted, but still no browser sequence.Any suggestions on how to get the Browse Sequence to appear in the Microsoft HT

Is it possible to find and replace double-spaces with single-spaces in RoboHelp? I know it can be done in Word, and I am trying to do this in a RoboHelp project, but it does not seem to work. Please advise. Thank you in advance!

I'm on RH8. If one adds a pdf file into a project as a baggage file, can a user search info within the pdf or would the search only point to the pdf document?

I thought of using WebHelp to publish the online documentation, but then I noticed that there is also the Microsoft HTML Help layout. It doesn't publish an HTML document but something else. Can I use that instead of the WebHelp? What I am trying to do is there will be a link in our site and then when they click it the HTML help file will pop up. Any information you could provide would be very helpful. Thank you!

RoboHelp 2015.In the WebHelp Settings you can select "Enable Highlighting in Search Results".If you do not select the check box, the field does not appear in the WebHelp output.We chose not to select this option because the highlighted results often make the Help topic very cluttered and hard to read.However, now the user doesn't even have the option of using the feature.Does anyone know of any way to enable this option, but enable it with the check box empty (not selected)?Thanks.Carol Levine

When I use Responsive HTML5 Output none of my child index topics will load.All Index entries load in WebHelp format. This little icon will turn all day long…nothing comes up in my INDEX. Here is what I get in Responsive HTML5 Parent Project

Hi all,Trying to figure out if RH 2015 is capable of managing cross references. I have hyperlinks in my topics that I want to be cross references in word and give me page numbers when I generate. Not much use having a hyperlink on a piece of paper.Only search items I found seem to turn up posts from years ago about using word macros to do it. Any ideas?Thanks,Nick

I am using RoboHelp 9 and IE11. I tried to compile my project using WebHelp as my primary layout. When it opens I see that the TOC and topics are listed on the left, but when I click to allow blocked content, all of a sudden the TOC and topics disappeared. I do not know how I can make them show up. Here is the screenshot of what I get. Please help. Thank you!

I am using TCS 2015, of course with my writing done in FrameMaker and the Webhelp done in Robohelp, with all the FM files linked in RH. What are the best practices for implementing See Also references in RH? When I use the See Also pod, the topics are deleted when I update the linked files. I assume I have to do something in particular in FM, but I am struggling to figure out what.Thanks,Marc

Hi guys,Just wondering if anyone can share their strategies for ensuring variables, snippets, stylesheets, skins, conditional tags etc stay synchronised between multiple projects with multiple authors?Do you have an automated process? Use the sharing feature? Designate one person to manage the admin side and update all projects on a regular basis?I'm gathering ideas for how to manage this with the assumption that the other writers will not be technical.Thanks in advance

Hi all,Can it be done in RH 2015? I've set up my own title page by using a word doc, but I want more than just a company logo and doc name in the title page. I want to add version numbers using variables and I want to be able to set a variable in the text as well as the product name changes slightly with different versions. Is it possible?Thanks,Nick

I have a parent/child project currently in Webhelp with 1 Parent 30 Children (with more on the way). I just upgraded to RoboHelp 2015.  I want to compile the project for Responsive HTML5.  Will the "Customized Selected Layout" settings I choose in the Parent project be the default for all the Child projects?  If so, that would be great. If not, I suppose I am going to have to be sure to duplicate all the settings on each Child project, correct?

So, I am new to FrameMaker, but not to RoboHelp (been using it since 1994).We have linked out User Guide FrameMaker book to a RoboHelp project. I generated the first update of the book to the RH project using the Force Update All. and now I see the cross reference content comes across as expected, but the hyperlink tags of the cross reference are lost. The text is formatted to LOOK like a hyperlink, but the aref tabs are missing.I have been told that is a known issue and that I need to recreate them manually in the RH topics. There are over 300. I am beside myself. Can anyone confirm that this does not work as I expected? I just cannot believe that this is not imported with the hyperlink - or maybe it is that I just don't want to recreate 300+ hyperlinks in my source project.ANY help/confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

Large Merged Project. I do not understand how search works in a merged project. Sometimes one term does not pull up topics from all the projects, which confuses my users. For example, only one project responds correctly when a user types forms, for example. If I type "forms" (with the quote marks), it behaves more like I would expect, but this is something extra to teach my users that is inconsistent with other terms. I cannot find any reason for this behavior. All the projects appear to have same settings. Often these missing topics already have forms as part of their heading 1. I have tried to force the missing topics to show by adding forms to keywords. This is just one example. Why does this happen and how can I control it?

The Expand/Collapse option on my new RoboHelp 2015 > Projects menu > View section is disabled/grayed out all the time. I cannot use it for the Table of Contents panel. The Help file doesn't cover anything about it. What is wrong with this?

In Robohelp 10, can you make a form within Robohelp, free standing, that can include calculations or formulas?  For example, for verification an Account number is needed and the person selects Fail, meaning the customer couldn't verify the account number, the form will then calculate and say 2 more items are need to complete verification?  Just don't know where to go to see if we can do that in Robohelp 10.  Any help would be appreciated!

I am using RoboHelp 9.0.2.271 inside of TCS 3.5 on the following Dell laptop characteristics:I build HTML CHM help files. I have many times used Hyperlink/Popups for users to view a picture of what is being discussed underneath it. As illustrated below, the "grey colored lines" link should bring up the picture below it. This is a screen cap from the View Selected Item command on the tool bar. That is why you can see it here.I first save it using the Display in frame option, then reopen it and change it to Display in custom sized popup, giving it a proper size.I then save all, and produce the CHM file. Opening the chm file and clicking on the link brings up this error box.I then click on the Hyperlink/Popup above it in the previous paragraph and that picture displays OK.I check the Hyperlink/Popup properties and it is virtually the same. The jpg files are both in the RoboHelp Projects directory I am working this page in.Switching to HTML code view... both hyperlinks look the same.There

We have been using RoboHelp off/on for client projects for a decade, but these tools usually sit behind a corporate firewall so the help file itself is never exposed to the Internet. We have an application we are launching soon and we want to ensure that only authenticated users can access the Help File as well as the Training File (which is actually a separate RH file).The primary goal is this:When a User logs into the main application, there is a Help File link on the top navigation ribbon. When the User clicks this button, it opens a new tab in the User's browser so they can navigate the Help File. .Our goal is to ensure that the contents of the Help File are restricted to authenticated users only.This means that the Help File can only be accessed in two ways:General Access.
