I am using RoboHelp 9 and creating HTML Help. When I access the Help system from the Help menu in my application, the glossary displays fine, but when I try to access it by clicking on the Help button on the Window, the glossary is empty. Any thoughts on how to fix this problem?
Hi all,Used to use RH for a while on version 8. Now back to use it again with 2015 but I'm a bit rusty.I've set up my new project, created my CSS just how I want it with the styles I've got. My Word doc has several styles that I want to bring in to a single style in RH. e.g. I have 3 'versions' of a normal style that I want to all map to a single RH style. Not sure if this is possible, or if I have to cleanse the whole Word file instead of all these style variations. The option to select a CSS for Style Mapping when running the word import is always greyed out so I can't select my own CSS here, only the RHStyleMapping.css.Ideas? Or do I have to spend some time cleaning Word docs? Thanks,Nick
I prefer to keep de Robohelp project files separated from the content. For example, content pages are stored in GIT (and connected to a Jenkins job), but I don't want my repository filled withRoboHelp files.Yes, I can use .gitIgnore but it would be far more convenient if RoboHelp gave the opportunity to use content pages thatare NOT part of the directory RoboHelp is stored in (this is so 80ties ;o)) or maybe use symbolic links. Is there a way to keep the RoboHelp files separated from the content?
I am working in RH HTML along with a co-worker on separate workstations but using a CMS. We basically check out all RH files to a local folder and check them back into the CMS for storage/backup.My co-worker changed a topic name (with its HTML filename) in RH (via Topic Properties) and uploaded it to the CMS. When I downloaded the file (with the new filename) from the CMS to my local RH folder, the following occurred when I tried to insert a link from another topic to the (new) topic:1) The Hyperlink dialog box still had the old topic name but when I clicked on it the Preview pane remained blank.2) The new topic did not appear at all in either the Hyperlink dialog box nor the Topic List pod.I imported the file/topic using File > Import, which solved the problem. But I seem to remember a file that RH uses to manage topics. I think you can delete it and have RH automatically generate it when you open a project. Does anybody know the name of the file? Thanks.
I would love for someone to explain why topic heading styles are tied to how the TOC is laid out when outputting to PDF and choosing to use bookmarks for the TOC. The following always occur:If you uncheck the option to Maintain HTML Heading Levels (Outputs (SSL) > Printed Documentation Print Document Content - Printed Documentation), then the PDF TOC bookmarks mimic the Book/Page structure present in the default TOC file (.hhc); however - any topic that holds a position in the folder structure higher than level 1 (so if it's within a sub-folder of one of the main folders), then all heading styles in that topic get bumped the proportionate number of heading levels. For example, if Topic X lies in Folder 3 - a sub folder of Folder 2, which is a sub folder of Folder 1, then the heading styles in Topic X are output three levels down (Heading 1 becomes Heading 3, 2 becomes 4, and 3 becomes 5).Conversely:If you check the option to Maintain HTML Heading Levels, topic heading styles remain
Hi,When the WebHelp output for RoboHelp 9 is viewed in Internet Explorer 11, the following issues arise:Search functionality in WebHelp displays no search results. The WebHelp TOC do not display any entries.Tried to fix the issue with the patch available in the link (http://www.wvanweelden.eu/blog/2014/06/14/ie11-patch-robohelp-9)The webhelp doesnt open after the patch is applied. Thanks in advance.
My colleague tried to open RoboHelp 2015 using Firefox, but the Table of Contents wouldn't display? is it a compatibility issue? Thanks,Lon
I am trying to update a RoboHelp 10 project. When I make a change to a file and try to save it, I get this error: Could not rename file. xxxx<filename>.htm# to xxx<filename>.htm.It seems to think the original filename is a .htm#. But the topic properties say the filename is just .htm. I did get a new PC and backed up this project and then downloaded it to my new PC's hard drive. Could something have gotten corrupted?Thank you,Kathleen
I use HTML5. Execute and Title bar is displayed. I test for resizing of monitors. The Title wraps and I get the scroll bar. I select minimum and maximum, and shrink sides. Back to Maximum and Title is wrapped and scroll bar stays. The Title is short. What option and where can I fix this. Thanks, Julia
I want to use google analytics to track a large training and help website. Actually seperate sites but same material. Training just has a browse sequence turned on.When I insert google analytics code via template to all pages, as suggested here, I get google reporting on the skin pages rather then the real pages, except for the initial welcome page. What can I do to get google analytics to track each page and how do I insert the code properly so it doesn't catch extraneous pages?I'm using robohelp 7 and did have it on roboserver, but it would never work properly for us.
I recently used RoboHelp 9 to generate a WebHelp. At glance the desired output looked neat-customized skin, easy navigation and the like. But to my dismay, I was met with a plethora of numbers, characters and words on clicking the search tab. Since then I have tried various combinations of generating an output which can be viewed in IE 10, but am yet to reach a satisfactory solution.Help!
We're finally upgrading our projects from RH9 to RH2015 (build 12.0.2.384)Windows 7, 64 bit machineOffice 365 (Word 2013).I'm trying to upgrade one of our smallish projects (about 250 topics), and RH2015 consistently freezes during the conversion. There's not much as an error message. It just hangs. If I click on the app, then it says it's not responding.I did get it to convert a week or so ago in a test folder and it went fine (though I did have to delete the RH 9 .cpd file first).I find it sadly interesting that RH has show-stop issues converting its own project to a later version. Flare had an easier time converting my project when I was testing that HAT... I'm currently walking back in time in my source control to see if there's something that's causing it to crash. The project works fine in RH 9.Ideas on how to get it to convert without crashing?
I'm trying to figure out how we can prevent our HTML webhelp from being crawled by search engines like Google. I found these instructions while digging through some of the discussions on this forum: Stop search engine robots indexing Your private folders by ‘robots.txt’. | Internet marketing BlogHowever, you would think we could add some code into the project itself in order to stop the search engines from crawling the help. We tried adding this code into our master page since the master page is applied on all topics, but the code didn't remain after the output was generated:<meta name="robots" content="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW" />Does anyone know how we can prevent search engines from crawling our help?
I'll repeat the question here: RoboHelp HTML Version 7 - when does support end for Version 7?Thanks, Chuck
We just upgraded from RH9 to RH2015. I have successfully converted one of our projects. However, when I do a simple adjustment to the width of a pod panel, RH2015 locks up every time. For example, if I click and drag the panel's right pane border to the red line, RH2015 immediately locks up.I've closed the project and deleted the project's cpd file, then reopened the project with the same result.Any help would be appreciated.
The registered products page on my Adobe page says that we own Robohelp version 13. Where can I download this version. We are still using version 7, but that doesn't support Word 2010.
Hello, I'm using RH 10 I can not open my project, I deleted the .cpd and .xpj files then I tried to open the project clicking the hhp file but it can not open anyway because . Please I need help whit this problem.
Hi, I would like to kwon if I can upgrade my robohelp 9 robohelp 2015 or I have to buy a full license ?!
I'm using the latest RH 9.My output is an html help output (chm).I use breadcrumbs in all topics. They're generated at compile time from the single source layout. They don't come from a bc placeholder in the .htt nor from the .htm topics.Let's examine just two topics:Topic1 here has some not-so-good formatting (ugly standard blue) in the breadcrumbs:Topic2 here has the desired formatting in the breadcrumbs (aside from the formatting of the final item in the bc trail--but that's a separate issue):When I look at the compiled topic's html source for Topic1 (from the chm in Notepad++, it has this code. Notice the JavaScript code it's getting (that I marked in red):Source from Topic1 in CHM<!doctype HTML public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Frameset//EN"><html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <meta name="generator" content="Adobe RoboHelp 9"><title>Step 1: Installing PC-DMIS</title><link rel="stylesheet" hr
All of the changes I had input to RH11 for yesterday's deployment have vanished from one version of my user guide. Any graphic or text changes - all gone. I save constantly, and I have a backup on GIT.The updated graphics appear in the images folder, but RH does not have the changed graphics on the topic pages - it has reverted back to the version before any changes were made. Now, we did have several power outages this week and last weekend, but I had everything saved prior to that. I may have left RH open over the weekend, so I am wondering if the power outages would have an affect on my topics? Seems unlikely, but I just can't figure this out.For the other user guide, it looks as though the changes are there, but it does not recognise my changes to the TOC, even though when I generate locally, the TOC is changed as it should be.Any light someone can shine on this issue would be appreciated. Thanks,Pam
Hello,I have converted my project to latest 2015 version to have the support of Hebrew. I can now have the pages and summary displayed correctly but the index not. The hebrew characters are not displayed correctly. I have tried to change the font of the index but it is the same problem. How can I display it correctly?
I don't think this is possible, but I might have missed it. Is there a way to add a shape within RoboHelp. I want to point out certain things within a document so I'd like to put a shape around it.
My Robohelp (2015) freezes on MobileApp output? Initially I figured maybe it's to big of a file so I made an empty project with ONE link, still freezes. It gets through generating the Mobile App just fine, uploads to to the PhoneGap server but as soon as I click "View Result" it freezes.
I have three unique problems:Index doesn't jump to correct placePhone numbers are formatted as linksTOC disappers and I have to refresh
One recently converted RoboHelp 11 WebHelp project stalls/hangs in the compilation process and creates the following file with 0 KBs: __cpSwf2HTML5ZipMap. All of our other projects (20) compile successfully without this noted file. What is the problem and how do we resolve it?
