Hello.I am using RoboHelp 2015.  After outputting my chm file, when I open the file it is always positioned at the upper left of the screen and is a little too small.  Where in RoboHelp 2015 can I go to change the the attributes of size and position for how the chm file is shown when run?Robert

Hello.I used to use RoboHelp 11 and in that version to get a CHM file with skins all I had to do with a WebHelp project was select File->Generate->WebHelp to CHM Converter and the CHM file would be output.  But that menu option is gone in the 2015 version. I am using Robohelp 11 and have published a project to the webhelp layout.  When I access the published file in Safari, the Search funtionality is not displaying at the same size as the other options in the navigation pane.  any thoughts on how to fix?Gene

Hi all, I have been working offline and am ready to sync everything to the server. I "Checked All In" but the new items did not get checked in, and if I right click on an item, the menu contains neither check in nor check out. Please can someone help? Louise

HI,There is something unclear to me in the helpI am creating a regular chm file.The help in FrameMaker says:"HHActiveX.DLL is an Adobe ActiveX control that provides support for online glossaries and browse sequences. Install and register the HHActiveX.DLL file on user systems. Copy this file from the appropriate location into the same folder as the CHM."Do I have to give the developers this dll file in order for the chm to be displayed correctly?It was not clear to me?thansk

Hi there,I use Robohelp 10, and create a webhelp for our software product. All our clients are from the same domain. We now have increasingly started to encounter a situation where Client A uses different field names, sees a different set of fields or even uses a different version of our product than Client B. The webhelp is deployed as per the version of the software a client uses. Is there a way I could use the conditional build tag to create a webhelp output that picks topics based on client names. (This might not be ideal as there might not be space on the server to host many versions of the webhelp!)Or even if a topic is included in the webhelp, is there a way that it gets displayed only if the code indicates it is client A or B?I would really appreciate any suggestions on the best strategy to be adopted here.Thank you,S Augustine

Hi,I have an toolbar image containing about 5 icons.  An image map, encompassing the entire image, links to a specific section. I'd like to keep that image map, but I'd like to allow users to hover their mouse over a particular icon within that image to see it's name. Other than restructuring sections, building new topics and creating new image maps (one for each icon), is there a way to display the name of each icon within the toolbar image ? There's got to be something I'm missing here...it shouldn't be that difficult! always grateful......thank you!RH webhelp 11.0.4.291

I was really looking forward to using RH6 to produce printed documentation because I attended an Adobe seminar where the presenter mentioned that there were lots of improvements. Well, I am very disappointed. I have yet to create a print doc in RH 6 without first going through quite a number of 'Code execution has been interrupted' message boxes. With RHX5, there were quite a few formatting issues, which I hoped would be corrected, but I never got error messages like this. I don't know what the problem is, but I would sure appreciate some guidance. Thanks, Mary

In RoboHelp 11, for some reason when I a run a text search in the final project, I get a "No results found" page every time.  The Topic.slp looks normal, as the search widget is still there and has not been changed at all.  I'm also not doing anything out of the ordinary to the responsive layout properties.  What could be causing this issue?

I can't be the first to consider this....anyone know of anything out there, or anyone that is currently working on such a site for RH 2015?

Expansions cannot be toggled to "off". This happened suddenly. I did not, to my knowledge, set a global preferfence to always edit HTML in expanded view. I've found only one other forum post on this topic with no responses by a user who referred to the issue as "extra spaces". It took me awhile to find the "expansions" option. Highly annoying. Switching to an external HTML editor (Notepad++). Wish I could get off RoboHelp entirely!

Hello,I have linked a FrameMaker (11) file to a RoboHelp (10) project. I am beginning to map the paragraph and character styles. Most of them look good, except the bullets. I have tried all the bullet options available in the FrameMaker conversion settings dialog. Somehow after that experimentation, the bullets now look like this in RH:Every time I go to update the files in RoboHelp, another one of these rh-list start lines appears in my bulleted list. This is what the HTML looks like:I am not sure what I can do to fix this, other than create a new RH project and relink the FM files and try again.I would appreciate any tips.Thank you,Laura

Have an existing Robo HTML V11 project that has been successfully generated hundreds of times. Updated to Robo 2015, copied the set of project folders to a new folder.Converted the copied project to Robo2015Generated WebHelp and copied to serverContinually receive error when trying to use SEARCH.Receive the following error messages:ThenUnable to clear error or reset SEARCH to function.Reinstalled Robo HTML V11The original project folder was opened in RoboHelp HTML V11 and now that project, when generated, no longer has a working SEARCH either.Have tried to delete the whxdata folder in hopes that regenerate will recreate properly, obviously didn't work.Can anyone shed light on this situation and provide a solution. My company has been using Robohelp 7 for quite some time, in support of a product built in VB6 (don't laugh, it still works). We're using Microsoft HTML output. RH7 gave us a few difficulties at the time of our last release - having transferred the licence to a new machine, we couldn't get the help to compile - but we got through them by reinstating the old machine, and we've had no indication that users have had any problems.In the meantime, however, I have had some problems, in that typing too quickly in the text box on the Index and Search tabs causes the help file to hang. It doesn't come back, and you have to kill it in task manager, which takes the host app with it.Our backup RH7 machine is no more, so I've been wrestling with RH7 on a new one again, and it's been such a nuisance that I resorted to trialling the RH 2015 version. I cannot import or create a project in RoboHelp HTML (v10) - an error message saying that the OpenHTML.dll is missing or moved, but it is located in my Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 10\/RoboHTML dir. Does this file need to be in a different location?

I have been tasked with designing a new skin for my projects. I used a skin from the Gallery and just swapped out the icon images and reset all the colors, etc. However, the project doesn't display the Print option when I apply this skin. Furthermore, it didn't allow me to select Print when I tried different skins.I'm not aware of any Print switch anywhere else - the only place I know to go is Webhelp Settings>Navigation. Print displays in the Toolbar Buttons box, and you click to select it. Is there something else that controls this? The skin I show in the image is NOT the basic skin I used, but it doesn't display Print either. Thank you!

Hi,I've used a customized whthost.js file for a couple years now with no issues.  Lately, it seems that clicking on a TOC entry does NOT expand it.  Clicking once on a topic in the TOC will display the content in the reading pane, clicking twice on it will (sometimes) expand the TOC.  Subsequent selections in the TOC seem to sporadically expand the TOC entries and then not expand the TOC entries.  I can't figure out why it's not working consistently & correctly.I've customized whthost.js using William's awesomely helpful information here:  Make WebHelp TOC Wrap | WvanWeelden.eu‌, including wrapping the TOC around the images.For fun, I've reapplied the customizations in a newly generated whthost.js thinking there's been an extra space or something in my customized file that I've overlooked and is now causing a problem. No luck.  This happens whether I'm viewing the docs in Chrome or IE, locally.  It doesn't discriminate I've also customized  t

When a topic in a child project of a merged Help project is called from the application, the complete, merged, TOC is not shown. Peter Grainge explains how to get round this problem on his site by editing each topic. My question: is it possible to add a button on the toolbar of a custom skin which would display the merged TOC? I have gone into the WebHelp Skin Editor, and can see that you can add a link or JavaScript  in the Action tab, and was wondering if anyone has done this successfully. Hi,I'm trying to create a text box with a trigger that opens a second text box. If I use a regular (in line) text box, when the trigger is placed in the text, the text becomes invisible in the output, so the user sees an empty box. A click where the text should appear still opens the second box, but without the effect I assigned it (fade in).If I use a positioned text box, the text appears if I use one trigger, but not if I use two triggers (1st trigger activation fades in, 2nd trigger activation fades out). And the effect still doesn't work.How can I get around this problem?

how to print to pictures back and front

In the Responsive HTML5 layout settings (RH 2015), go to "Basic settings" and set the default pane to "filter".With this setting, there is no way for the user to access either TOC, Index or Glossary in mobile view ("Phone"). The "sandwich" icon (yes, this one http://bit.ly/1S3q9If) in the upper left opens the filter pane (= the default pane). Next to the sandwich icon, there's the search icon and (again) the filter icon, but no TOC/Idx/Glo icons.Please fix this. I think the easiest solution would be to implement two options: Default pane (Desktop) and Default pane (Mobile). One sets the default pane for desktop display, the other one sets the behaviour of the "sandwich" icon.

This has been a question ever since RH switched to the multi-doc interface, but I have just worked around it up until now.I am looking for a specific string and then I need to edit each file where it occurs. A simple replace won't do.After using Find & Replace in Files I get a list of topic titles in the Find Results dialog. If I r-click on a filename and choose Edit or or double-click a result in the list I get a window that only lets me Replace, Replace All, Undo, Next File or Save.How can I open a file from Find Results in RH Editor? Or even any editor? The window it opens in is not an editor.As of now I put Find Results on the left, Topic List on the right (sorted by filename) and manually open and edit each file from the Topic List. This is painful and slow.Has this gotten any better in 2015? I can't upgrade this particular project but would be good to know for future reference.Thanks!Jeanne
