Here is my scenario...In the text on the right side of the screen, I would like to link to the folder "DTM Utilities", rather than pointing the user to any one page under the folder. Is this possible? When I try to create a hyperlink it states I need to select a file, bookmark or topic to link the hyperlink to.
I'm coming to HTML5 from the CHM world. Is there a way to allow/enable my audience to use:Advanced (i.e., other than AND & OR) Boolean operators, e.g., NEAR or NOTNested expressions, e.g., bulletin AND ("form design" OR "form type")Wildcard expressions, e.g., network* or MD5????I'm currently using RoboHelp 10.Does this version (and if not, then does RoboHelp 2015) support the ability to enable any of these within RoboHelp (through a GUI setting or even by manually modifying search.js or some other file in the HTML5 output)?
Hello,I am using RoboHelp 11 (latest patches) and VisualStudio 2010 Enterprise. We created a new RH project based on one from an earlier release. The old references to source control were removed as per RoboWizard. However, it seems that multi-user editing is enabled on the new project, although this was not the case in the earlier projects. How do I disable that functionality? I thought it would be in Tools > Options > Source Control, but I do not see a check box there to change this setting. Thanks!Timothy
There appears to be a missing "Using FrameMaker with RoboHelp" chapter in the RoboHelp documentation (2015 release). Does anyone know where this is?The chapter is missing from both:Help file for Adobe RoboHelp (2015 release) - Under Projects >> Importing FrameMaker documents, after the first paragraph is a note:note: If you are using Adobe Technical Communication Suite, you can link FrameMaker documents to your RoboHelp projects. For more information, see Using FrameMakerwith RoboHelp.PDF file for Using Adobe RoboHelp (2015 release) - On page 87, under heading Importing FrameMaker documents, after the first paragraph is a note:NOTE: If you are using Adobe Technical Communication Suite, you can link FrameMaker documentsto your RoboHelp projects. For more information, see Using FrameMakerwith RoboHelp. There is no link in the help file. The link in the PDF appears to be dead (or just references the same page). Is this chapter supposed to be a separate standalone document?
Hello. I'm using RoboHelp 2015, evaluating switching from a WebHelp output to responsive HTML5, and experiencing some issues with pages and images loading slowly from mobile devices. When accessing the HTML5 output from a PC, I have no issues with loading page content. However, when accessing the output from an iPhone, the ToC is slow to load and pages with images are equally slow to load and sometimes do so with initial formatting inconsistencies (e.g. the text is there, but the tabs are misaligned and the images are initially missing).I should state that my images are currently "hidden" as dropdown text accessed through an image of a camera. For example, tapping in the Image Example below will open a dropdown image below it. Once the page fully loads, I'm able to tap the twice and open two images, but tapping the third causes the focus of the page to jump back to the top and then hang. The page never reloads. I can go back to the ToC, select the topic again, and the image will app
It also hangs when trying to browse for a CSS from Project Settings. It also hangs when editing a CSS opening the color picker. So far not impressed with this latest release. My RoboHelp 8 was far more stable.I'm operating it under Adobe Technical Communication Suite 2015.Any bug fixes or suggestions would be appreciated or I will promptly ask for a refund as it is not a usable product at this time.
Hello all,This is an old and working HTML project. I published it yesterday, it has been revised and now, when I'm doing my changes and I generate locally to see the changes by clicking View Result, it launches IE by default with nothing in the TOC/Index/Search area, although the contents of the index.htm appear. There is an error window titled Message from webpage that says Error reading masterData.xml. The only file I see in the generated output that starts masterData is MasterData_xml.js.Only thing that is different about this morning versus other mornings: my machine rebooted overnight with RH and the project open. I had saved all my work though so that at least is ok!Anyone have any ideas for me? It's a merged project that is currently working where it is published, but I need to make changes pretty quickly! Thanks,TatuMbili
Hi,Please bear with me as I'm a new user to Robohelp, I've looked around and have been unable to find an existing discussion relating to the issue I'm seeing.I have a project (lets call it Project A) in 2 forms.(1) Firstly as a standalone project (Project A). In this format the search functionality appears to work correctly, apart from dropping the 'e' on a single word search ending in 'e' (I've found a small amount of information on this but no solution).(2) The second form is that of a merged project (Project B). Its configured in the form: Project B TOC: Introduction Book Project A (Merged) In this second format if I search for a term with a trailing 'e' the number of results is less.I've managed to work out the difference
I need assistance. The below script was written in HTML view to allow a topic to be emailed that provides a link directly to the topic vs to the home page.It was working for about a year and now it does not work anymore. When the link is created and sent via email, the recipient of the email clicks on the link and it bring them to the home page. Can someone review the script and advise what I need to do in order to correct it?Thank you!
On some machines in the office the compiled chm works perfect but on few of the machines it shows a blank content window for all listed topics!!
Hi,I generated a responsive RoboHelp output using RH 11. I see two vertical scroll bars. I tested in chrome, firefox, and IE. I could see two scroll bars in all the 3 browsers. Please find the screen shot below.Any suggestions on how to overcome this issue? Thanks,Anusha
Since starting to use RH2015, images included in header/footer master pages are missing from our printed documents. This worked fine in RH11.I've tried creating a "clean" project so I can retest, but the images are still not pulling through. Is anyone else experiencing this behaviour?ThanksJonathan
There's a missing paragraph in both:Adobe RoboHelp (2015 release) help fileUsing Adobe RoboHelp (2015 release) PDF, dated June 2, 2015For the help file, the missing paragraph is under Importing FrameMaker documents >> Optimizing for online output before conversion >> Chapter versus topicFor the PDF, the missing Chapter versus topic paragraph is on page 88
Hi,I've RoboHelp 11. The window caption displayed is “HTML Help” instead of the caption I defined when I compile in French. Region and Language is set to French on my computer. I do not have any problem when I compile in English. Has anybody an idea? Thanks for your help.
I have Adobe RH9. My teammate has RH12. I cannot edit RoboHelp files created on RH12. How do I make it useful for editing the RH 12 projects? Please help.
I would like to export the User Defined Variables from one project folder into another, but cannot figure out the way to get that done.I lost the functioning set of UDV when trying to eliminate a corrupted topic; but upon restoring - my UDV set is empty. Found a set of UDV that works from one of my backup folders that is very close to what is needed, but need to know how to/what to send to the main project folder. Thanks!
I am using RoboHelp 11. I would like to customize the template of Responsive HTML 5 and insert hyperlinks in the top band (header). Is there any way to achieve this?
As previous posters have noted, broken links don't always register in the broken links folder. So, my superior suggested that I run a broken links report, but we couldn't find the button on the Tools ribbon. We fired up the Help function, which provided the path "Tools > Project Status > Broken Links" (see image below). Clicking the project status button on the Tools ribbon as directed opens a new window containing a project status report, but there's no option for a Broken Links report. The Tools ribbon also features buttons for a table of contents report, topic properties report and map IDs report, but a button for the broken links report seems to be absent, not to mention buttons for a conditional build tag report, see also, index, external topics, glossary, images, etc.Where might I find these report options, namely the "broken links report" option? Thanks!
Hello, We have a group of 3 writers working on one project. We use TFS 2012 as our versioning system, and are all on Windows 7. This morning, one of the writers reported that two of the files within the project would cause RoboHelp to crash. This was verified by the two other writers (myself included) for the same files. I've tried rolling the version of those particular files back to a known working date, but the application still crashes. This issue is also preventing the creation of any new outputs. (As a side note: Can anyone recommend any versioning system that might work better than TFS? This really is causing a lot of trouble for us. I literally have to spend at least 10 hours a week trying to figure out technical issues and inconsistencies between TFS and RoboHelp.) Thanks in advance.
Hello,I am working on a project that has many topics which use a Topic TOC placeholder. I formatted it the way I want it to display in the project (for viewing in the web browser) and saved the Topic TOC placeholder as a snippet so I just insert the snippet in all the topics which use it. My question is this: how do I modify the print CSS for the Topic TOC placeholder? I have changed the print CSS for all other styles in my topic and they look great printed out, but the caption of "Contents" for the Topic TOC is way too big when printed. I'd like to change it so it is the same size as my Heading 2 style in the print version of CSS. I know how to modify the print version of CSS for basic styles and tables - I have no idea what to use to change the settings for the Topic TOC ...Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Thank you in advance!).Here are some screenshots from my project, don't know if they'll help or not...
We have a collection of Robohelp 11 chm projects which share some of their topics, so in order to keep all the projects updated as we make changes to one of the shared topics we decided to add the shared topics to a the Resourcer Manager. This works wonders while being used by a single person on a personal computer, but now that we need to have more people working on the different projects we are trying to implement a Version Control System compatible with RobohelpWe are testing with SubVersion, but it doesn't work quite well with the files on the Resource Manager, for example:When I add a new shared topic that is going to be used on other projects it asks me to check out the .fpj file of the folder where the new topic resides, after all the changes I check in all the items and the rest of the team synchronizes, but the new topic is not added. We found out that the .fpj file was not updated. This among other silly situations are keeping us from making that jump from working on a single c

Hi everyone,I've been using William's incredibly helpful webinars on editing a responsive HTML5 layout to redesign the Theme 1 Standard layout for my project in Robohelp 11. However, it appears that if I edit the HTML of the layout (mainly the default Topic layout), the result is that the search function no longer works; i.e., I can type in a search term, but submitting it does nothing. The issue is not browser-specific because the search function stops working in Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 38.0.1, and Chrome version 43. I also tested this on two different computers and the result is the same.It appears that I can edit the CSS without any issues, but I cannot edit the HTML of the layout without the search function breaking. I tested this by creating a new responsive HTML5 layout and editing only the main.css file and not making any changes to the HTML of any of the layout pages. The search function still works in this instance. However, if I make any changes to the HTML of a layout p
Help! I am using snagit to capture images and pasting them into Robohelp. I've done it many times without any issues. But today, when I cut an image and paste it into Robohelp, the color changed. I tried pasting into Word and PPT, and the color is fine... then I go back to pasting in Robohelp the coloring changed. in particular, the grey seem to turn a pale yellow?Does anyone know how to fix that?
In master page, header, I have inserted the chapter name. When I generate the output, it displays the variable name, PD Chapter Name, not the value of the variable. The code is unaltered from the button selection 'Insert Chapter Name' . Is there another step I'm missing? Thank you!<p><?rh-variable_start name="pd-chap-name" value="&lt;&lt;PD Chapter Name&gt;&gt;" ?>&lt;&lt;PD Chapter Name&gt;&gt;<?rh-variable_end ?></p>
