followed the directions in the adobe "Using RH" guide to incorporate a captivate (5.5) demo into my project. a new tab/topic was created in which it says the demo was "successfully imported" however nothing seems to be in the topic it was created for, even when I test view it. should have opened this inquiry with "I'm not a developer, nor do I play one on TV".. this is my first go at RH 2015, all my other projects were created in rh9. Any & all words of wisdom and assistance are welcome and appreciated!!
Hi,I use Robohelp 11. Why when i import a new word file in my project, the software create the .htm file with a full contol security of my user ? and do not autorise anyone else (like autheticated users). My problem is when my colleague logon into my computer and use Robohelp, he cannot see or modify those file. Thanks
Hello,When importing a winhelp project (.hpj) we are getting an 8 line paragraph of nothing but font names at the top on the majority of our topic pages. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if there is a way to remove these font names during import (i.e. an import setting of some sort?) so we don't have to manually edit and remove the font names from each topic page.Or maybe a global way to remove the font names after importing?ThanksZach
Hey guys any suggestions in solving the following issue? An ongoing issue with RoboHelp has always been our project names being too long to migrate. We can manually reduce the size of folder names and topic file names, however, with the new import procedures, RoboHelp is generating image folders separate from the topic files and we are unable to rename these folders. This negates the efforts we have made to reduce the file names of the topics. When we attempt to rename the folders, RoboHelp re-creates the original folder and the image no longer appears in the Project Manager pod or in the published HTML files.Any kind of help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.
Some chapters do not show up, even though it is included in the project....copy issue! Please help!
I am working in RoboHelp HTML 2015 (trial version). RH isn't saving the state of my workspace--pod layout, view settings, etc. In Options/General, I have Remember Project State selected, and I don't see anywhere else to save my settings. Am I missing something? Thanks,G
I'm licensed for RoboHelp 11 and have switched computers. Anyone know where can I download RoboHelp 11?
Usually the Topicmanager holds the HTM files in the same order as the ProjectManager displays them in RH.But with linked Word files the list gets totally scrambled. RH still shows them right in the ProjectManager pane, but 'RoboHelp.project.TopicManager' returns them unsorted! How can I retrieve the real sorted list?I do not have a TOC at this stage - this is what I want to create.
Today I have lost my desire. Added 15 linked word files. RH stopped working. Project can be opened but not closed again. Cannot create any SSL. After deleting the database (.cpd) and reopening, the same situation. Conclusion: RH cannot be used for complex word projects. Are there any alternatives on the market?
Can RH11 and RH2015 be installed side by side?
HiI am creating responsive outputs using RH11.I have content (say, an image and few paragraphs in multiple topics) that is applicable only for desktop users and not mobile users.I want to publish one single output for all devices. But the mobile user should not see the content meant for desktop user. Is that possible? Please guide.Sreekanth
How can I re-order the topics by jsx after a RoboHelp.project.TopicManager.importItem( MYPAGE, '' );There exists no topic.insert() or similar.
We're using Robohelp HTML 11 and Robohelp's Glossary functionality is severely limited. We need our glossary hotspots to be pop-ups, so we use the Output Generator with Glossary Restyling Script, but when we use the pop-up option, it creates an additional html file for each instance of a glossary term instead of mapping all references to a single file for a glossary term. Why does it do this? And is there a way to fix it? The tooltip option does not do this, but it isn't smart enough to keep the pop-ups from going off screen. The additional 10,000 to 11,000 files that this creates is a problem for us, as each file has to be installed individually with our software. While we're on the subject, is there a way to tell Robohelp to unmark Glossary hotspots? Or to avoid certain styles like headings or special text where we do not want to have glossary hotspots? We had to have someone write a script to fix these issues, but it seems like this should be a standard function.
I have linked a FM book in RH where most of my topics are not referenced. It is a FM TOC, so all the headings 1 and 2 are included in the FM TOC. The topics are listed but are not referenced. The topic title has a "?" next to it. Also, all the actual heading in the topic appears as normal text instead of the Heading 1 or heading 2 paragraph tag. Can anybody provide any solution to this problem?
What's the easiest way to link to an external PDF and Word file that a user can download?
Someone can help find the portuguese dictionaire post-reform for Robohelp 11?
Hi, We have created a CHM file using the RoboHelp 11 and translated the content into various languages. One issue we have noticed with east Asian languages was that, the Contents tab is showing the east Asian text properly but not in the Index tab. The east Asian text is not properly shown in the Index tab and in the search results too. But when seen from the RoboHelp development environment, every thing is shown properly. Is there anything more to be configured to make the index show the content properly? we have configured the languages also as per the translated content. Regards,Janardhanan.R.
Hi All,Happy Monday. So I've been tasked with getting our new MVC based website using the new RoboHelp 9 server running. The server is all set up and the documents they wanted to bring over have been brought over. My question surrounds calling the pages from inside the web site. Is building out a URL, really all that's required? I've read William van Weeldens site and the grainge.org site and that seems all that there is. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks,Bill
I am creating a new template for preventive maintenance procedures using Responsive HTML5 in RoboHelp 11. The powers that be would like to see persistent check boxes connected to summary tasks to provide a "checklist". I can add the form elements, and I have access to the IS resources to build a database to store the form information, but I can't identify where to connect the form elements to the database. Any insights are greatly appreciated!
Is there any automatism to "import" the language settings from a word file directly to RH?How could this be solved without an extra user action?
Hi all,I was randomly playing with menus in RH11 when I selected View > Show > Glyphs. Obligingly, a glyph showed up in the open topic. Except I don't know what it represents. "No worries," says I, "I'll check the help". Which helpfully tells me how to turn them on and shows me what they look like, but which doesn't tell me what exactly they are.Adobe RoboHelp 11 * View topics and design elementsDoes anyone have any insight into these funny red squares?
Hi all,I am using Robohelp 10 for webhelp output. The output works absolutely fine in IE10, but Mozilla does not support the output when the output htm file contains '/' in its path.Could anyone please help me with this issue.
Users want to access my site with a mobile device while it is plugged into an external monitor or TV. To do this, they need a way to access the desktop version of the site, but even the browser's "Request desktop site" option does not work for my web site. Is there something I can do in RoboHelp HTML 11 (Win7 OS) to fix this?
We're using the latest RH 9.Our company is developing an application in C#.We've traditionally used compiled html help files (chm files) as our help file. Our coders, when tasked with linking up the chm with the application for F1 mapping, are now saying that the mapping files (.ali and .h) generated by RH are in an older C++ format and can't be used. They're asking if map files can be generated in a format more suitable for C#.I'm not familiar with C# enough to know what they need. Our .h file produces this:#define HELP_ADDING_DEVICES_AND_ACTIONS 1#define HELP_ADVANCED_SOFTWARE_OPTIONS 2#define HELP_CLIENT_COMMUNICATIONS 3#define HELP_CONFIGURING_A_NOTIFICATION 4#define HELP_CONFIGURING_USER_SETTINGS 5#define HELP_DELETING_AN_ACTION_FROM_A_NOTIFICATION 6#define HELP_EDITING_DELETING_OR_DISABLING_A_DEVICE 7#define HELP_NOTIFICATION_SERVICE_INTRODUCTION
For webhelp output, is it possible to limit Dynamic Filtering settings to only the search results? My concern is that if the Content Filtering Options tab is collapsed, users will not know that filters have been applied.Terry
