I'm posting here, because the link to the general discussion appears to be broken. I want to delete the conditional build tags that come with RoboHelp 11. The online help for RoboHelp (accessed by clicking the ? Help button on the Conditional Build Tag dialog box) says:"To remove conditional build tags from a project, click Project. Expand the Conditional Build Tags folder, click a tag, and select Delete. Then click OK."I haven't used RoboHelp in a while, so pardon my ignorance, but where exactly do I "click Project?" I seem to recall that the Conditional Build Tags folder used to reside in the Project Files folder in the Project Manager pod. But it is not there.Thanks!Carol

RH 11.0.4.I have been using RH since 4.0 and am currently I have a RoboHelp HTML project where I am using two different style sheets. Each style sheet is associated with its own Master Page. I've done this because my client wants to eventually migrate to a new look. The 'Normal' style in both instances is mapped to a different font. I have ensured that the style sheet is attached and that all content is in the appropriate style. There is no issue with the first style sheet (and Master Page) I created. The 'new look' Master Page and Style Sheet have had random display issues with the Normal style; occasions where part of the topic displays or all content is not displaying.This is the case if I select View Selected Item from within the project and view the topic after compiling WebHelp.I have created new Master Pages and re-assigned styles. HiI recently upgraded to RH 11.0.4.291 and FM 12.0.4.445. I have been importing a FrameMaker book into RoboHelp for several years, without any issues. The Framemaker book is a "master" book consisting of 17 books. Some of the books have multiple chapters. For these, I created a folder each sub book and put the chapter files in the folder. Until today, when I imported the FrameMaker book into the RoboHelp project, and I got the FrameMaker TOC structure in RoboHelp: Book A Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4Book B Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4Book C Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 When I imported the FrameMaker files into RoboHelp today, I got this: Book A Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4Book B Chapter 1 from Book A Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4Book C Chapter 1 from Book A Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4Book D Chapter 1 from Book A Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4Book E Chapter 1 from Book A Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 1 from Book A appears in the TOC fo

Pressing F1 (to open a Help topic) results in a blank page opening and obscuring the required Help topic. This happens with RoboHelp 10, IE11 and a Windows 8 machine. None of the available patched solve this problem.

Hello,I've created a couple webhelp projects after being told by our QA/Development team that the projects I created in HTML5 format were not compatible with 1.) legacy versions of IE [specifically 7 and 8 - posted another discussion on this over the past couple months, tried the shiv patch to no avail] and 2.) the control used by the program to display an HTML file set on a given [iOS] device - from what I'm told, this applies to iOS 7 and there is supposed to be a new version of the control in iOS 8 that does support the HTML features. But we're not there just yet (still need to support iOS 7), so per QA/DEV request, I created the webhelp projects to see If these work and display better on the devices.I've noticed some display issues when I generate and view the webhelp output. Initially, the books in the TOC are cut off and I have to resize the TOC pane and slide the scroll bar at the bottom of the display window to see them. I have a WordPress site that I want to incorporate my RoboHelp application into.  Is this something that can be done?  Or, do I need to do the reverse and create the RoboHelp site then add the blog content?

Hi folks,I recently tried to add some of the button functionality from Williams toolbarscripts to a webhelp skin, specifically the email link and print options. Following the instructions I added the .js file to the project and referenced it but couldn't get it to work. I was able to make the inline javascript option work for printing pages from Peter Grainge's (super informative) website work. I tested to see if I could call any .js file using the "External JavaScript File" function in the custom tool bar item. Couldn't get anything to work, is this a RH11 issue? Any work around for getting the email link url function to work in an Inline JavaScript?Please, thank you, please!Thanks,J

This one might require some back story.I'm working at a company with roughly 60 business units that will each be getting their own emergency response procedures (.FM files compiled into a single FrameMaker .book file for their department). I then want to link all of these books to a single RoboHelp so that when it comes time to publish all of these plans into WebHelp menus I can do that with a single batch generate/publish.My problem is that some of the FM files within the books are shared (maybe two or more departments are at the same location or all of them share the same corporate level plans) so that when I try to link two books with a shared FM file it throws an error.Is there away to allow multiple copies of a FM file to exist in a single RoboHelp? Or is there a better solution to the task at hand?Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated as I am still a moderate beginner with Frame and RoboHelp.---Corey---P.S. We are trying to make a help file through Robohelp with the help of word document, but the main problem is the files which are generated through Robohelp they are not proper ID based Html files.so how could we generate proper html files with ID's?Please someone help us with the solution.

I have searched through these forums before and found that by selecting the "single click to open book" option in the HTML help advanced settings, your .chm's TOC will only expand the book that you are viewing, closing all other books.  My question is, is there a way to do this when outputting to an .html file (instead of a .chm file), and if so, what is said method?I am using RH11 (HTML edition), on a win 7 machine, trying to create an HTML5 help page.edit: added edition

Hi,I've got another problem with RH 11. We're trying to customize the printed documentation output for PDFs to match our styling conventions. We're not able to find any way to change the page margins in the PDFs that are generated.We tried to change margins in the Page Setup window for individual topics (both in the Design Mode and the HTML mode; BTW the window with settings looks different when opened while in the Design Mode and in the HTML mode), we played around with the Master Page, we went through all the possible settings in the wizard for generating the Printed Documentation, we looked everywhere to no avail. We tried to "google it out" but we didn't find anything on this topic. Does anyone know how to change such basic settings?I've been using RH for two months and already got frustrated several times. Before, I used Help and Manual almost 3 years and things like that were so simple to achieve. Please help.

Hi,I'm trying to figure out how to customize PDF docs generated from RoboHelp 11.There is a section named <Default Title Page> that you can add or remove when generating a PDF doc. Is it possible to edit this section in any way? I've been looking for an option to do it, but I haven't found anything.We want to create a custom title page for our PDF docs. The only info I've found on this topic is here: RoboHelp: Customize the title page for printed documentation (Word and PDF output) « Technical Communication SuiteThe tutorial instructs to remove the <Default Title Page> section and insert a topic file or a Word doc with the custom title page. I think it would be more convenient if you could change the this Default Title Page section.Thanks.

I successfully generated a subset of my project last week and wanted to generate a Word version with all the topics included from the selected TOC. The dialog box reaches a point where it says "Processing topics" and the Output View just keeps saying "Saving 'Touchstone_Help_PrintedDoc.doc". I tried generating using .doc as well as .docx. I tried creating a new SSLs.It's been almost two hours and I don't see completion in sight, and so was wondering whether I'd exceeded some limit.Thanks for any assistance any of you can provide.Carol

Hi there, I am new to Robohelp as it has been years. I managed to retrieve the files and open the project on my computer. I tried to troubleshoot and I HAVE enabled macros in word already. I believe the errors are related. I have not successfully be able to generate on this computer with this project. While I can see the Search tab in the CHM, I have two issues1. The List topics does not display anything.2. When I search for a specific topic, I receive a list of relevant topics for my search, but when I click on it or on the Display button, I do not see anything.Would appreciate a response.Thanks,Iris

I am using TCS 4, fully updated.I have Frame books that are linked to Robohelp projects; in the RH project FM Conversion settings, I have Apply FrameMaker Conditional Text Built Expressions selected.In FrameMaker, I have the conditional text set the way I need it, and the content displays correctly.  Two CB tags are used in the content; we'll just call them A and B.  In Frame, CBT A is displayed.  When I update the project in RH, I get CBT B instead.I then set Frame to display CBT B.  This time, RH correctly displayed CBT B.Just to try an eliminate random weirdness, I set the entire tst file to unconditional.  It ALL displayed in RH.  But then I re-applied the two CBTs.  Back to square one.Getting very frustrated w. TCS4.  Never had this problem in earlier versions.Does anyone have any suggestions?  An option of last resort would be to unselect the Apply FrameMaker Conditional Text Built Expressions option and process CBTs in RH; it appears

Hello-I am currently creating a Responsive HTML user guide for my company's software product and I cannot figure out how to change the default color of light blue displayed in the generated help to my company's colors.  Specifically, I wish to change the color of the title bar (#1 in the image) and the shadow of the selected topic (#2 in the image) to other colors.I'm sure this should be an easy fix, but I cannot figure it out in spite of my efforts.Can you help me, please?I'm using RoboHelp 11.Thank you-Michael

I have a Rh project that links to a Fm book. I'm trying to embed some html into Fm and have it show up in the Rh output. First item is a form. I'd like to have the form within the RH html files.I've tried to add the code to the Fm reference page in the General Macros, then inserting an HTML macro marker per this help document. But the form didn't make it to the Rh output.I'm not even sure if what I'm trying to do is possible.

We're using RH 9 (latest build) to generate our chm files.One of the developers I work with has problems in Windows 8 (8.1 to be exact) opening up our chm help file by double-clicking on the chm and it gives a software crash. The curious thing is if he accesses the help from within our own software by pressing F1, the chm displays fine. He said the chms didn't used to do this and is wondering what could have changed. Any ideas? It's not just our help system that does this though. He reports that any help system he tries to open from within explorer crashes. To me it seems like some necessary component got uninstalled or removed in a windows update or something, but wondering if anyone has experienced this and if they know the fix.

Is there a simple method to use URLs for context sensitive Help?

Hi,I'm wondering if it's possible to disable manual formatting of text in RH11. We want our tech writers to use only the configured styles for text. We don't want them to apply any manual formatting, like bold and italic, to text. The only thing that I could find was hiding the Formatting toolbar, but it's not a solution. I'm looking for sth similar what MS Word offers. There you can disable all the buttons which allow for manual formatting, so that only configured styles can be used to format text.Thanks.

Hi there,this is my first post, so apologies if I am in the wrong place...I would like to insert a "last modified" date in my topics, but can't figure out how to do this! The Date field inserts today's date whenever the topic is opened, and so doesn't reflect the timeframes of changes accurately.I'd appreciate any help on this.Thank youCaroline
