I just thought I'd post a few tips for people deciding to use Multiscreen HTML5 (possibly also Responsive HTML5, but I haven't tried it myself). Some of it may be obvious, and some of it may be because of the highly customise screen layout we have, but it tripped me up. 1. Removing TOC, Header, etc when printing.I decided to put a Print media definition in the css for my screen layout (skin), to keep those styles close together. It is possible to define them in your regular project css, but it seems neater to keep the styles in the one spot.Put the @media print section at the end of the stylesheet. I originally had it at the top, and had to use !important statements to get the styles to stick. When the section was placed at the end, the !important statement was no longer required.2. "Viewport height" measurement and Internet Explorer 9"Viewport height" basically (simplified) says to use the height of the browser as the value. It is used in conjunction with a number representing a perce

We habe some licenses of RH9. One user would like to move his license from one desktop PC to another. The person using RH has changed. So he would have to deactivate his license from his PC. How is this achieved and how do we find out to which licensed CD pack his license belongs?--Christoph
The Webhelp generated from RH10 does not work properly.Issues arise while opening it with Firefox 35.0 . The left pane does not appear.Earlier issues were there while opening it with Chrome, but i resolved it and now the help is working fine with Chrome.Firefox issue is still not resolved. Please, provide a solution for this.
We are generating a WebHelp project in RoboHelp HTML Version 10 and the navigation panel (TOC, Search, etc.) is no longer visible in the index file (viewed locally) and it's only visible by clicking "Show" when viewed in a web server. This issue is occurring with Internet Explorer 11 and Google Chrome Version 39.0.2171.99 m. I also tried to view the index files of previously generated projects and am experiencing the same issue (this did not occur before). Is this a known issue? It appears that there a few other discussions posted recently experiencing similar issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nikki
My online help project will be translated into 35 languages, including Hebrew and Russian (Cyrillic) and other languages that don't use latin script or western style numbers. So now I'm wondering if there is any info out there about what fonts might work universally. I wonder if anyone has run into this issue. I've been using verdana, arial, and times new roman in my help systems..I'm not sure if this is correct, but I assume that if a user in another country doesn't have one of these fonts, their system will just subsitute it for something similar, so maybe it's not a problem. Although it might affect the overall appearance of the Help topics .
Webhelp generated with Robohelp10 has a defect when opened in IE10. The Search fields do not enable topics to be visualized.I have tried the recommended changes to enable Searches to operate, but they result in blank pages all-round when launching the Webhelp in Internet Explorer 10.The files that I have replaced in the Webhelp folder are: whtbar.js and whskin_frmset01.htm.
Using RH11, no Table of Contents display in left navigation pane when WebHelp (Primary Layout) generates. What am I doing wrong?
We currently use WebHelp Pro to publish projects successfully to Robohelp Server 9. What we would like to do now is transfer these files from our Robohelp Server (Apache\Tomcat) to our IIS Server (C:\inetpub\wwwroot) in an automated way (these are 2 different servers). We would also like to be able to generate Robohelp reports off of the same IIS Server. Are there ways to automate this process in Configuration Manager using Contexts or does IIS have to be on the same server as Robohelp.
In Multiscreen HTML5 output, is there a way to keep the TOC on the left side of the screen from moving when I scroll the right side of the screen?
I just attempted to import a fellow colleague's topic into my RoboHelp project and am noticing the following issues: 1.) The topic title has the word "User Guide - " added to the beginning of it. 2.) The topic, when opened, contains Responsive HTML 5 navigational icons across the top. 3.) The entire imported topic appears to be sitting in a borderless table. 4.) Small, icon images appear stretched to the width of the topic; however when I double-click on the image it appears perfectly normal in the Image Preview. Your advice on how to correct these issues is much appreciated.
Hi,1. As, i have added previous and Next Topic buttons in my robohelp 11 chm, yet i am facing a flow issue.2.
Should a responsive .css be used for Responsive HTML projects? My H1, H2 etc. headers stay the same size and look way too large for mobile viewing. You need to change the sizing of graphics and tables to percentages in order for them to adjust…but what about the general .cssformatting? Are there .css guidelines for responsive projects so that everything adjusts properly for viewing on different size devices? How is itdone? Any help appreciated. I’m using Adobe RoboHelp 11.013.268
I need to provide help in French, and the information I have found is spotty. - Thanks
(TCS5 on Win7, unstructured FM)Got a trailhead for this? I would be surprised if a thread does not already exist, but I don't see it (yet). For linking of FM content to RH and then publishing with one or more Help formats, what restrictions or standards, if any, do you recommend for naming FM tags, object styles, and variables? For the names of files (as to the operating system), I read elsewhere to avoid spaces. OK. But that is about the names of files, not the names of the assets in the files. Some of our writers want to use the space ( ) or period ( . ) as a character in the names of tags, object styles, or variables. On the keyboards we use, this is an easier "reach" than the hyphen character ( - ), and does not require the Shift key for the underscore character ( _ ).Best regards,
Hello,I'm working on converting a set of documents from Framemaker 11 into Robohelp. In these documents, we have a style set that uses the automatic numbering, with the position set as "End of Paragraph". This means that in Framemaker, all of these paragraphs show up as:[Texty text text blah blah] <Auto Number>When I import the documents into Robohelp, the number is correct, but the formatting is incorrect, as the autonumber now appears at the beginning of the paragraph:<Auto Number> [Texty text text blah blah]I've been tearing my hair out trying to change the importing behavior or css to change this, and have hit a brick wall. Is there any way to fix this so that the numbering can appear at the end of the paragraph in Robohelp, as it does in Framemaker? Thanks
HiI am linked a FM12 book to the RH11 project. After linking I browse, select, and apply the settings file (Settings.ISF) I had created. But after I click Apply, OK, and close the window, when I open the Project Settings again, I see the name has changed to [Custom].My RH is the latest version 11.0.3.Please advise.Sreekant
RoboHelp HTML 11, output Multiscreen HTML5.I wondered why some of the text in my project output was green instead of black, but I finally realized that these are bookmarks. Is there any way to make bookmarked text look like ordinary text?
I'm trying to publish an RH 10 project to SharePoint using the Multiscreen_HTML5 layout. In SharePoint (Native), I selected the 2007 version option because 2010 wouldn't work. The publish process goes all the way through until I get "Publishing has been cancelled. Access Denied. Before opening files in this location, you must first add the web site to your trusted sites list, ..." Of course the whole site is already in my Trusted Sites list.Is there something I can do on my end, or should I bother my SharePoint admin about this? I think it has a problem adding .aspx files.
Robohelp 11 install instructions: Adobe RoboHelp 11 * Getting starteddoes not discuss installation other than to say insert disk and install.I have the .exe and the .7z files from the Your Download page. How are these used to install Robohelp?
How do I change the highlight color used when "highlight search results" is selected and I'm working with the Multiscreen HTML5 layout? I know how to change it for the WebHelp Pro layout, but haven't been able to find where this is changed for Multiscreen HTML5. Is it now part of the style sheets?
Hi,I'm wondering if it's possible to share User Defined Variables across projects. What I have in mind is that I would like to have my User Defined Variables configured in a central location and then insert them into my projects as linked variables so that they update automatically when I change their values. For example, I define a variable named Product_Version that has its value set to 9. Then I insert this variable into all my projects as a linked variable. After 2 months the product version changes to 10, so I change the value of the variable to 10 in the location where it is stored and it is automatically updated in all the projects. Can this be done somehow? I'm new to RoboHelp and I can't find any answer. I've been searching for the solution for some time in the product help, on the Internet to no avail. I even contacted Adobe Support and they redirected me to this forum I used Help and Manual before and their way of dealing with user variables was pretty simple.
