Please check me on this:I think the idea of the Screen Layout Gallery is to provide fitting responsive layout.Given that the Gallery has just a couple of entries (hardly a gallery), you are pretty much left to your own devices if you want to do much more than change the color, font face, and background of the responsive html output. This means hacking into the html and css to make anything other than cosmetic changes. (I wasn't thinking I would need to do this in order to make RoboHelp work.)I'm thinking some better documentation about how the Screen Layout - Responsive Output system works would be useful.

The Standard screen layout template has a logo in the upper right corner.I know how to change logo.png, but how do I remove the logo from the header entirely? Thank you!

Hi, Multiscreen HTML 5  output  in Chrome – when scrolling down very long topics in the content pane the navigation area 'moves up' , i.e cant see search field or TOC.thanksAnat 

This is a "why" question -- Hoping William van Weelden is watching since he has lots of related topics online ---For quite some time, our developers have used this construct, where helpID is actually the string we plug into the Context Sensitive map GUI...not the Map ID number, the actual string. This has always worked well.      "/help/A/a_rhc.htm#" + helpID;I did something unusual recently (at least I think so) with a result that I can't explain.  I created a separate webhelp project, and  hid the output in a subdirectory of primary, so it looks like this:/help/index.htm <primary content, with A/B generated as part of standard webhelp>  help/A/a.htm            a_rhc.htm            a_csh.htmhelp/B/b.htm            b_rhc.htm         

Hi,I am totally struggling to understand the workflow for applying bulleted lists in RH10 (for html).If I have a paragraph style=Normal, font=Tahoma-10pt, why on earth does selecting that paragraph and clicking the bulleted list button in the Formatting toolbar add a bullet but also set style to None?I have clearly missed something here.But this being the "normal" workflow for applying bullets, if one is required to hack into the css etc to sort this out, this suggests a horribly unfriendly interface to me.Could someone please spell out in simple English how this is supposed to work? Incidentally I have just spent a considerable amount of time sifting through both the RH10 user guide and forum topics, and I still don't get it.Therefore my apologies if I'm being stupid.

Hi,I've tried for about an hour to find a list of supported browsers based on RH version & Webhelp.  I'm looking for differences between RH9, RH10 and RH11..what versions of IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc.Can someone point me to the list? Surely, there has to be one....I would like to have something official in my hands so it can be shared...thank you!

I have created a robohelp file with all of the information that I need. Now, I am beginning the process of exporting the file to HTML so that it can sit in a report center and be referenced from there. I would like to be able to create links from each bookmark page to place in various locations on the report center. When I click on the bookmark I want and create a shortcut, the link I am given takes me to the appropriate bookmark but it does not display the table of contents on the side. Is there a way to make that link produce both the bookmark I want to be pulled up and the table of contents with it? I do not want to use the feature where you have to click "show" in order to make the table of contents appear. Thanks.

In my current Help project, I have one set of topics that are specific to use of our product in one country.  I would like to change the TOC icon for the specific book without changing all of the "purple book" icons.Thanks.

Hello,I am working on RoboHelp11 and using RoboSource Control 3.1.  I am facing an issue while making an attempt to manually add new topics to the TOC (drag and drop), the error alert ' 'xxxxxx.hhc cannot be multiply Checked out' and further the alert 'The files in the list below could not be checked out from Version Control. Exclusive access to these files is required to execute the selected action.' appears.  Note that the said project file is checked out only by me and no else in the team has checked it out from source control..Can someone provide guidance on how to resolve this issue.

I'm contracting for a wonderful company that uses RH for generating online help files. My co-writer is using RH9. When I started, I got the latest Adobe TCS, so I've got RH11. We just discovered that there are compatibility issues: you can't do a "Save As Previous Version" and RH9 barfs on RH11 control files. The gents on chat support were very helpful, but they said there's no information on compatibility like this; nobody's tested it, they said. Darn. I've determined that I can check in HTML topic files into the RH9 version of the product and they'll compile okay (they're just HTML topics and we're not doing anything fancy). Has anyone tried this with other RH files, such as keywords? I'd like to get information on what changes I need to make--manually with an editor, if necessary--to achieve back-and-forth compatibility when handing off from my RH11 system to my co-writer's RH9.  (Just in case anyone wants to suggest it: No, we're not getting the latest version of TCS for her

Hi all, I'm currently working with RoboHelp 9 (haven't been able to convince the powers that be to invest in an upgrade). I'm inserting a javascript reference to my topic so that I can link directly to drop-down text. It works fine when I insert the script reference into the topic head and test it when I am in HTML view. But when I switch to Design View it gets deleted from my HTML. I find that strange since I haven't even recompiled the project. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Thanks

I have project with about 150 topics.  The projects outputs 6 different sub-projects into different folders, and each sub-project is defined by its own TOC and Layout on the Singe Source Layout pod.  Each custom layout in the pod has its own name: S1 - S-3 and T1 - T3.  Everything works fine and dandy when I use batch generate to compile all 6 version from the Single Source Layout pod.  However, I can't seem to successfully generate any of my custom layouts from the command line:For example, I enter:RHCL "C:\Edvation\Magnolia\Edvation.Magnolia\Edvation Help (Master)\Edvation Help (Master).xpj" -l S1and it then tells me that Layout "S1" does not exist.  Yet, it then lists the existing layouts, and sure enough, S1 is right there.  This happens for all of the layouts with custom names I've created.  I can, however, generate the default layouts, as long as I haven't made any changes to them (e.g. if I try to generate the "Adobe Air" or "eBook" layout from

I am new to RoboHelp 10.  I am looking for any good learning resources.  I have watched several videos on YouTube but am still having difficulty figuring out where to start!  Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Several times now, I have chosen the option to activate the product and proceed to login with my Adobe account and enter the license key and it registers the product, but after a couple days it will show me the start screen again indicating I'm in a trial phase asking my if I want to continue the trial or license the product.  When I login to my Adobe account I find that the Robohelp 10 product license detail I provided is not displayed, so it's not retaining the license key in my Adobe account.  My companies IT department has confirmed the license key they have provided is valid.  Any one have any ideas?

Hi,I have RoboHelp 10 and am producing webhelp output.I have an issue currently where the search function will not work properly in IE 11. If I search, it just hangs without returning any matches at all. I have noticed this is most likely to happen with very commonly occurring words that are used through the help project (it is a large project). If I search on less commonly occurring words, I am more likely to have results returned.One of my users says he gets the following script shown at the end of the browser help page when it has hung for a while without returning anything:"% remains at 0%, IE message  finally displays that webcoretest-2k8  is failing to respond and IE status bar contains 'javascript:void(0);"This problem does not occur in Chrome or Firefox, however, we need our customers to be able to use IE.

I inserted the following script"<noscript><!--Javascript is not enabled--></noscript>".I used the menu options Insert > HTML > Advanced > Script. Unfortunately, RoboHelp places this tag inside the "<script>" "</script>" tags which causes errors. I was in the procces of moving the tags when RoboHelp froze. RoboHelp (HTML) v11.0.1.235 was installed on my system last week. There is an Add-on to Microsoft Visual Studio (v4.5.50938) where all the files are kept in Source Control. Hi all,Greetings to everyone.Recently, my company has upgraded from Robohelp 9 to Robohelp 11. When we are generating webhelp output, the search functionality is not working. When we try to enter a word in the search box, it is not performing any search or it is displaying an messages stating , 'void'.Is it s a bug which needs to be fixed or is there any other issues causing this problem.I have checked the contents inside the  Whxdata  folder. I have the following JS files.Is there any JS files missing. I have also checked the sample projects that is shipped along with RH11 - Employee Care. I tried to generate the webhelp from those projects as well. However, the search function is not working. We have reinstalled the software as well. why does 'transparent' get into the HTML code and how can I stop this from occurring

RoboHelp HTML Version 7.Hi, I successfully generate the WebHelp but when I try to preview the output, I get the attached error. This also happens if I try to open the file directly from the generated project. The project is stored locally on my C drive.I've tried to find help online, but I think most problems with opening projects relate to the pre-generated files. My project opens as it should and I can work as normal, I only have a problem with opening the generated WebHelp.Any suggestions are much appreciated!Thanks in advance, Elaine

Is it me, or is the help for RoboHelp version 11 from some previous version?In an effort to understand how RH11 works, I've been reading the help for various functions in the program.I'm running into two problems:1) Dialog boxes with no Help button.2) Help topics that don't correspond to what is on the screen in RH11

I am using RH11 on Windows 8 with a Virtual Machine (VM) platform.I went to CREATE NEW and selected Knowledgebase as my type of RH project. In Single Source Layouts, the Primary Layout is WebHelp. Is there a reason for that? I created a Responsive HTML5 layout in SSL and have failed to be able to make it work. Am I tied to using WebHelp formats/options or shouldn't I be able to implement a Responsive Layout for the Knowledgebase. My goal is to have a Responsive Layout for the Knowledgebase and publish to SharePoint. Any experience or knowledge re: this?Thank you, - Susan

Hi,When I view the generated topics in either chrome or IE the  text defined as "normal" is not visible. This happens both in wbhelp and HTML5 multiscreen.any suggestions ThanksAnat

The 'Back/next' functionality does not work in the Theme2_Government template, therefore I have added my own arrow buttons to the template, using the same image names that came with the template, and relocated these buttons slightly on the template. I have inserted the alt text in the coding (where it was designated in the original code) because there was no alt text in the code.I have several issues:The alt text does not display in the generated file (neither locally nor on the server, neither IE nor Chrome)When I click on a topic in the TOC, the arrow buttons shift right, then back to the leftAlso when I click on a topic, the "Show" text flashes on and off2014/06/26:  I'm just looking at the code today, and not being an expert, I am wondering if there is some way I can move the arrow buttons and the code around to make the buttons stop moving.In the above image, 'Back next' has browse sequences, but these text links don't appear in the generated output.
