I need to know whether RoboHelp 10 can deal with old win help projects (,hpj) and their output files (.hlp) because i have so many help files in this format and i need to upgrade robohelp version from RoboHelp 6 to RoboHelp 11 and i want to make sure it will open (.hpj) files and convert (.hlp) files to (chm) or webhelp .. one more inquiry; how many users are allowed to use RoboHelp 11 License at a time? My current version (6) allows 3 users, so i need to know about RoboHelp 11, but unfortunately their helpdesk did not answer me nor could i talk to the sales team on phone. Thanks
My question is:How many users are allowed to use a RoboHelp License at a time? If i upgrade fro RoboHelp 6 to RoboHelp 11, how many users can use this software in my office?
I am using RoboHelp HTML Version 11 with Windows 7 Enterprise/Service Pack 1. My problem is with generating HTML help files. It appears to generate and I get the message that it ran successfully. It even generates the CHM file, but when I click on a topic, nothing happens. The topics don’t open at all. The TOC books do, but not topics. I do get a compiling warning “The size of the stop file has to be limited in 512 bytes.” I have no clue what the stop file is. Did a quick search but didn’t find anything useful other than another user a few years ago who had the same issue and same warning. Unfortunately, I did not see resolution posted. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Our IT department recently did a company-wide system upgrade to Windows 7 and ever since then I am receiving the following message when I try to access my project: This project is from a newer version of the program. This project is no longer compatible with this version. Please make sure you have the newest version installed. What exactly is the message stating? I have been unable to access my RH project since 3/3/14 since our IT department has been unable to assist me with this error. They just keep stating to locate where you are saving your files. I have and am receiving this message. Thanks in advance for any input.
Hello all,I have generated a merged webhelp project as per the instructions at:http://www.wvanweelden.eu/blog/2013/02/28/adobe-robohelp-creating-merged-webhelpThe output help file is quite large. I can run it without issues on my PC. However, when I copy it to a server, it does load, the TOC pane appears empty until I click around a few times in the help. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
Hi Guys I am in desperate need for someone to please explain to me how I can save my artwork in a html/htm format?I am working on Mac, I have illustrator CS4 in which I have done my design. Hi,Where can I find a good tutorial/manual on RoboSource Control? The help included with the source control is pretty cryptic to say the least.I managed to install RoboSource Control, and my team has been using it all these years. But I've never delved into the more powerful features like Pinning, Tagging, Branching, whatnot. As our team consists of multiple writers working on the same project, the source control works transparently, enabling us to complete our task, but I've been rather scared of doing anything more than that. The help doesn't say much. Nor does Google.Any help, pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Ajay
I am updating a project in RoboHelp 10. During this process I have deleted some topics that were out of date. It seems that I did this the wrong way since I now have broken links that refers to these topics. (I’m quite sure they were used for context sensitive help.) They are of no use and I want to delete them but can’t figure out how. Grateful for any input on this!
I do not want to use a Glossary or Index, only TOC and Search for my help system. Can I turn off the glossary and index buttons with the Responsive HTML5 output?I deselected those two items in Project Set-up - Windows - main - properties. But that seems to affect Web Help but not Responsive HTML5.Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
Hi folks,On a windows 7 platform, connecting to a Windows 2008 server with SQLExpress2005 for RoboSource Control 3.1.I wanted to start a new WebHelp website, and so went on to the SQL server and used the Robosource Server Configurator to create it. No problem. But when I went onto my windows 7 computer to create a connection using RoboSource Control 3.1 Explorer, I open the Open RoboSource Database windowGo into the "Or Create a New Connection" section.Enter the fields like I have done for twenty other projects.Click Create Connection and I get the message box: Invalid Object Name 'NG3 Node'I can open and work with all the existing databases, I just cannot create a new connection.I did see the post about using the same logins, not quite sure that I understand this. I have computer ==> server on network.
Hi,I'm running on a trial version of RH11 to test a few things before we upgrade.I imported a webhelp project from RH9 to RH11. When the generated project is viewed locally on Chrome, the toolbar on the skin does not display as expected. The order of the buttons in wrong. The buttons display correctly when viewed in IE11.In Chrome, the "powered by" About button displays between 2 buttons (index & search) on the left side of the screen. In IE11, the "powered by" About button displays correctly - on the far right of the screen. The order in whstart.js is:var gsToolbarOrder = "toc|custom21369|idx|custom18272|blankblock|banner";Why doesn't Chrome follow this order? Any other files I should check....?The same project generated in RH9 doesn't display locally in Chrome, so this is a new issue to me using RH11....Also in Chrome, the "about" window displays the file path of the whskin_banner.htm file under the window's header.tested using Chrome version 33.thanks!
Is there a way to change the font formatting for the default style (none) so that it is not Times New Roman?I converted a large project (2143 pages) from RoboHelp 7 to RoboHelp 10 and it appears that half of my content didn't have a style assigned to the paragraph. Now I'm being forced to go and touch each one of the pages to force the Normal font. I see the properties on the (none) style for my style sheet are all dimmed out.
We recently upgraded to RH10 from RH7 and now use Windows 7 operating system. When we compiled the project in RH10 (Microsoft_HTML_Help), duplicate images were displaying in all of the files. In addition, the WebHelp had graphics missing. Is this a problem with Windows 7, RoboHelp 10 on Windows 7? I am doing all of this on my local drive.
My company is adding more work from home (WFH) options. I was unaware that online help published as WebHelp accessed through VPN was so slow as to make it a chore instead of a help. I go in through my remote desktop, so did not see any difference when I tested output. WFH users do not have a remote desktop to access. I began experimenting by publishing as .chm to gain some speed for them. I instructed some users on how to download the HTML chm help to their desktops, but they reported that it takes from 30 minutes to 2 hours for the download. In addition, it would be up to the end user to download it daily to stay current. That may not be workable, either. Once downloaded, however, it is acceptably fast.I have been asked by another department to assist them in setting up RoboHelp for their area if they decide to purchase. I would train the Instructional Designer on how to use RoboHelp from and author/publisher standpoint
When editing the map IDs of a topic, then the order of the map id's in the project.ali file is always changed. When using source control, this often generates conflicts, because a merge isn't easily done. Is it possible to leave the order of the ids in the ali file as it is?
To preface, everything works fine in Firefox. I have a very large help system with over 70 merged projects. Prior to upgrading to RH10 there were quirks with IE, but it would run the entire help system okay. Chrome, no dice. The issue is now that I've upgraded my files to RH10, any child project files do not load in Chrome or IE. I have downloaded all the fixed files from Adobe for the browsers and republished the files. Now, however, while the TOC/Index panes load (all in chrome/only half in IE), unless the file is living in the master project, then the files do not render. It seems to be stuck in a continuous loop to try and display. When I looked at the error code, I get a "Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND error and a link to a file with "whproj_xml.js" at the end, such as file:///z:/878xBuild/Solar/!SSL!/WebHelp/mergedProjects/MOBILE/whproj_xml.js.Anyone know any additional fixes? Is this a known issue for IE / Chrome? I couldn't find anything on the forums or
Hi,I am trying to use ClearCase8 as the source control with RoboHelp10. I have ClearCase installed on my machine, and I have RoboHelp installed. In the toolbar for source control, I see the option to Add the project to source control. When I click that button, a window appears with ClearCase listed. I select it, and click OK, the window closes, and then nothing happens. I must be missing a step to tie the two together. Any idea what it could be?Thanks.
I use the glossary wizard to create hot links to my glossary items, and they work fine upon compilation when viewed in IE11 browser....then I recompile (without having made any changes to any of the glossary links whatsoever), and suddenly the links don't work....then I recompile again, and they suddenly work again. Always in different topics. Anyone else experiencing this?
We generate the project using the Output Generator with Glossary Restyling script to display glossary terms as popups but each day RoboHelp wraps multi-word glossary terms in the HTML and breaks the popups. Help! Is there a fix? Why is RoboHelp doing this? We're using RoboHelp 10.
Hello, I'm trying to connect Adobe Robohelp 10 to a TFS repository using Microsoft VS2013. I started by following the tutorials linked here, plus the subsequent advice (including registry modification): http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1261856. (The last piece of advice was to open a ticket with Adobe support. However, after going through the support page, I was directed here, so this is where I'll ask.)TIA
I am generating a Robohelp 10 xpj using WebHelp to deploy in an html (using ClearCase). If I need to then remove certain individual files from the deployed html or add new individual files to the deployed html, are there hidden files that need to be associated with these htm items that I need to remove or add (depending on what I’m trying to do)? Unfortunately I may not be able to simply replace the existing files with newly generated version each time I need to do updates. When trying to remove individual html files from the deployed full html, the link for the file still displays in the table of contents, even though the html content has been removed. I just get a “Page Not Found” message. When trying to add new html files to the deployed full html, nothing displays in the TOC nor can I find the newly added html anywhere else.I think there are other files I need to be removing/adding along with the individual html files, but I can’t easily identify them.In urgent need of help...Thank yo
Hello,I used the skin editor and was able to add a logo I wanted in my toolbar, however I would like the logo to display on the left (as the first item). I went and edited the skin file in wordpad, but re-ordering that did nothing for the output but in the skin editor it is listed first. Is there something I'm missing in the code or skin editor where I put the logo as the first item?Thanks!-Using Robohelp 10
Hi,I'm using Adobe Robohelp 9 with Team Foundation Server 2012 on Windows 7 - 64 bit. I've also installed Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012 MSSCCI Provider. I've mapped all the project folders on my machine. We create HTML help (.chm) for our application.I have different versions for each module of our entire product on Team Foundation Server 2012 (As we have multiple modules in our product), for example x+1, x+2, x+3 and so on. Each module has different Robohelp projects for every version/branch. This means, if the Online help for any module from any version is changed, we update it in the respective version of the Online help project. When we move on to the next version, due to binary files, the next version contains the same path and properties of previous version. We need to have different project for single module for the next version. For this, I have changed the TFS project path of every .xpj project for every version. For example, if I'm working on versi
Has anyone seen the Search Results list cut-off when using Google Chrome? The Search Results screen works as expected in IE and Firefox, but Chrome cuts the list off at result item #7. I am using RH 10 multiscreen layout. Additionally, my TOC has extra spacing when the search results are returned (as soon as I cick a topic, the TOC returns to its normal spacing). Did I inadvertently modify a setting?
Hello,How do I add a repeating background image (not logo) to the layout found in RoboHelp 11 Responsive HTML5?Is this something that has to be done inside of Dreamweaver?Where are the RoboHelp 11 Responsive HTML 5 default themes (skins) stored on the computer?I have seen the following files in RoboHelp 11 and would like to know if it is possible to editthese files? Responsive_Layout.fpjC:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 11\RoboHTML\Samples\en_US\EmployeeCare2\EmployeeCare2Project\!ScreenLayout!\Responsive_LayoutGlossary.slpIndex.slpSearchResults.slpTable_of_Contents.slpTopic.slpC:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 11\RoboHTML\Samples\en_US\EmployeeCare2\EmployeeCare2Project\!ScreenLayout!\Responsive_LayoutBy default, there are two themes found in Responsive HTML 5.
