I am using RoboHelp 11, Internet Explorer 10. I generated a responsive HTML output using the default layout.Problem: the slider buttons for the search options: "Highlight Search Results" and "Show results that include all search words" are missing. (see screenshot below)However, the slider buttons seem to show up when I use the "Government" layout.(There doesn't seem to be responsive html forum, so I posted here.)Thank you.
Hi everyone.I am working on a pretty big help project in Czech. This is not something I started from scratch, I took it over from a colleague who left our company recently, so I don't know much about how it was done. The project is made of 3 components, resulting in 3 CHMs which are then copied in the same folder with another CHM using some sort of algorithm.Once all these files (4 CHMs in total) are copied in a software's Help folder, they are displayed as a single component when you clic the Help button in the software - meaning you see a complete TOC with chapters from all 3 files). The problem is, when I compile the individual CHMs, I get the message "HTML help settings has unsupported characters for the chosen language. Do you want to continue?"If I continue, the file is compiled and when I open it, the TOC looks ok. However, when I copy it with the other files and open it in the software (a CAD type program) some characters are replaced with someting else:I am using Robo Help 10 a
Hello all:I am using RH10 and generating webhelp. There are a few topics that occur in multiple places in the TOC and browse sequence. When I browse through the webhelp, it skips over a topic when it is encountered for the second time. The browse sequence is set up like this:Topic ATopic BTopic CTopic ATopic DWhen I browse sequenctially through the generated webhelp, the topics are displayed like this:Topic ATopic BTopic CTopic DIt occurs in IE, Firefox and Chrome. It seems that a topic can appear only once in a browse sequence. Is there any way to work around this and make the topic appear in two locations in a browse sequence?Best wishes,Juliette
Hello All,My help topics were created using RH8, and am looking into other web base help solution due to the large amount of files that Web Help currently outputs. For example, Adobe Air in RH8 has the following Output Types: Adobe Air Application, Browser based help, Air Application AND Browser based help, and Help Content. My ultimate goal is simply to have a compact output file (e.g., like a CHM file) so my developer can incorporate into his workflow solution (SharePoint 2010) to automatically deploy my web help to not just the central admin server but also all sub-servers. The initial approach of incorporating the help files (currently using RH WebHelp) into the install package did not address that scenario. Unfortunately, for him, he cannot dynamically include all the files into the solution; they must be included one-by-one, which is pain and will cause issues if new files are added later on. Hence, my inquiry to find another web help platform output to reduce the number of
Can I get a better explanation than what's available in help. I am deploying these multiscreen profiles /outouts for apple, android, and desktop on the web. I need them to be fully functional and I am confused on why and when I would check or uncheck these two settings.By the way - I do have popups - both image and text ...
I have RH 10 projects published in WebHelp that have the following behavior in IE10:Click a TOC entry and view the topic as expected.Click other TOC entries and see the corresponding topics. Then click a button on the skin such as Index or Search, then click an entry: the main pane turns white. Even if I just click the Contents button again, none of the entries respond. This does not happen in Chrome nor in IE10 Compatibilty View, but we don't have the option of using either as a fix.
Using RoboHelp X5 - how can I open a .chm file and save as a Word.doc?
I have completed my project in RoboHelp 10 and it will be uploaded to SharePoint for user access. The "chm" file extension is a forbidden extension for the server that will host this infomation. Is there a way to convert the current "chm" file to another approved extension without corrupting the current file extension?
Hi, I am using Tech Communicator Suite 4.I have have a dozen RoboHelp projects with linked FrameMaker books, generating MS HTML Help (.CHMs) as my output. In all of them, I have the import settings set so that any Heading1, Heading2 or Heading3's trigger a new topic in my CHM.Everything is working fine apart from one stubborn project, where I have two headings (one H2 and one H3) which Robohelp just refuses to break into new topics for! The CHM's ToC has them showing correctly (and if you click the relevent ToC node, it takes you to the heading) - but they're not seperate topics.I'm completely baffled! I've tried saving the Frame source as a MIF and re-opening it, I've tried re-applying the H2 and H3 paragraph formats to the headings, I've tried adding new test headings (they don't work either - it's like I have a wierd Bermuda Triangle in the middle of my .fm file where RoboHelp won't recognise new headings!) Any suggestions?
Hi,Have you found a solution to this? I am having the exact same problem - it was working well previously but now, whenever I have conditional text IN A TABLE in my FrameMaker source that is hidden, Robohelp crashes.Thanks.
HI, I am experiencing a problem related to page numbers in the pdf generated through the RoboHELP source files. Hereby I am giving some images of the initial pages of the PDF, in which I have clearly explained the issue. I have removed the content and images related to our project. Please let me know, how I can overcome this issue. NOTE: The page numbering issue was not there earlier. I have imported two frame maker files. Then I was not able to generate a PDF. That particular FM file had a table. Read in the Adobe forum that some type of tables may affect the generation of PDF. Hence, I have deleted the FM files. Since then I am facing the page numbering issue. Here are the images with my explanation of the issue:The following is an image of the pdf. This is actually the fourth page of the pdf, but it is numbered as xiv.The next pae is numbered as xv. Again the numbering reverted back to xiv as shown in the following iamge.Immeditely after the TOC, the 1st page is numbered as 11
I recently converted from RH 7 to RH 8. I have updated existing pages and created new pages. Any pages that I have touched since the upgrade will not display when published with WebHelp out to my company's networked location. They will display when I publish WebHelp just to my computer. What can I do to fix this? I am using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8. Publishing via WebHelpThank you
I converted WinHelp to HTMLHelp in RH8. I lost all of the indentation of my index. Is there an automated way to fix?
Hello, Situation: Upgraded several projects from RH9 to RH11 WebHelp Pro Output RoboHelp Server 9Search no longer works for upgraded RH11 projects. No matter the topic or keyword entered, results are zero.Search works on RH9 projects.I looked through forums for similar situations, I didn't find any for RH11. Some solutions for RH10 said to verify the whfts file included all the xml packages and the RH11 output does. Others had to do with settings in WebHelp but couldn't find anything specific to WebHelp Pro.Any ideas? Thanks,Julie
Selecting Printed_Documenatation crashes more than half the time in RoboHelp 10.There are two messages saying that RoboHelp has crashed and needs to close. Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:RoboHTML.exe Application Version:10.0.0.287 Application Timestamp:4ff35b9d Fault Module Name:OLEAUT32.dll Fault Module Version:6.1.7601.17676Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:RoboHTML.exe Application Version:10.0.0.287 Application Timestamp:4ff35b9d Fault Module Name:ntdll.dll Fault Module Version:6.1.7601.18247This happens when double clicking on Printed_Documenatation or right clicking and selecting Properties. Sometimes it works, there seems to be no pattern though. Tried multple projects including the sample projects.
Has anyone observed this problem. If so, is there a way to fix this? If I have text in angle brackets <> right next to a glossary term, and I run the Robohelp Glossary hotspot wizard, Robohelp will get confused and delete that text in the generated output . I've shown this using some screen captures. The problem appears to be that Robohelp replaces the code for the text angle brackets, < and > with regular angle brackets <>.Thanks.BEFORE RUNNING HOTSPOT WIZARD:CORRESPONDING HTMLAFTER RUNNING HOTSPOT WIZARDCORRESPONDING HTMLGENERATED OUTPUT
I'm losing my mind. I tested adding a PDF to my RH 10 project last week and would have sworn the Baggage Files folder appeared after I did that. Now nothing I do will trigger display of the Baggage folder. I've toggled the Project Manager view back and forth; I've readded the file; I've restarted the project. When I toggle between views in the Project Manger pod, the only thing that changes is HTML Files toggles to Project Files but the contents look identical. 😕😕The only thing I can think of after perusing the forum is that I added the Baggage file to the root folder because we don't have subfolders in the project. I did try attaching it to a specific topic but that didn't have any effect either. I must be missing something obvious. Help?
I have created an image map with multiple hotspots (using RoboHelp HTML v11, creating a WebHelp help system). The hotspots are invisible by default. Is there any way to make them visible, so the user can see that they are present in WebHelp? Thanks!Tim Huddleston,Charlotte, NC
When I search for specific words that starts with a bold letter (e.g. "Allowance"), that I know are in the eManual, I get zero results. I have several other eManuals with similar formatted words, but have no problems with them coming up in the search results. I've spent some time comparing the settings between the eManual that works and the one that doesn't. I've gone into the topic properties, checked the Stop List in Project Settings, and reviewed the HTML, thinking that the bold tag was breaking the word up in HTML, therefore limiting the search- but I believe the search uses text instead of HTML. I've attached two screenshots. One of the Design (text) and the other of the HTML.Design/TextHTMLI am using RoboHelp HTML, version 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!Gretchan
I've searched for whether this can be done from Robohelp but all my queries are matching the FM Named Destinations to PDF, which I know how to use, but is not the particular goal. It seems there should be a way to convert MapIDs in RH to Destinations in PDF but I have not found anything that indicate the Printed Doc Single Source workflow supports this. I'm probably missing something obvious. 😕😕Robohelp 10Acrobat X ProDoable? Diana
We recently upgraded 5 WebHelp projects from RoboHelp 10 to 11. Everything went smoothly except for one project that is displaying a huge amount of broken links. These appear to be for Index words and even Map IDs but the strangest are the ones that appear to be picking up the first few words of a topics. For example: Copying_a_statement.htm#Select_a_statement_and.Any ideas what may have caused this and how do I go about correcting the problem.
Why when publishing and merging 2 projects, one of the projects does not completely publish? When I publish each as a standalone project they each publish completely.Additional Info - Using RoboHELP Server Web Administrator, if I uncheck the "Automatically merger projects of the same type" and then View each project seperately each Project is complete (the TOC for each is complete). If I check the "Automatically merger projects of the same type" and view the merged Project one of the Projects is only partially viewable. In other words the TOC does not contain all the project books and pages. Unchecking the "Automatically merger projects of the same type" and the TOC is once again complete.I applied a fix suggested by Adobe support and now I am getting the following message whenever I click on a Book in the TOC at any level, "Loading, click to cancel..." BTW, clicking on the message does nothing.
