I am having a problem with the Exclude unreferenced topics and Baggage features not working. Meaning when I do a search all topics display even though they are not in the TOC.I even did a simple test. I created a new TOC with only one topic. Created a new BLANK topic.Created a new WebHelp SSLUsed the new TOC and selected both Exclude options.Generated the SSL and created a test search using a common word in the other topics. Results: Many topics list.So I thought maybe there is something funky with my project.I opened a RH Sample and had the same result.Help! I need to get this done today, what am I missing?Using RH10
is there any way that i can do away with the underlining on the hyperlinks on any page? I found some simple style scripting that i added to the html code, but when i saved the page, the code changed and the links stayed underlined.this is what i added into the HEAD section of the html:<STYLE> <!--A{text-decoration:none} --> </STYLE>
Hi all,I’m encountering an issue with index keywords in the print version of our Help system (Printed Documentation layout). I am using RoboHelp 10.When I generate the print (Word) version of a Help system, the index entries appear before the topic heading rather than inline with the heading text. Here is an example:This causes two problems. First, extra space appears before the topic. Second, if a page break comes between the index entries and the topic heading, the index refers to the incorrect page.A co-worker at a different office also generates a Word version of her product’s Help system and all of her index terms appear inline with the topic heading.Obviously, I can fix this once I have converted to Word by moving the keywords into the heading. However, there must be a way of taking care of this on the RH side so that I don’t have to spend time correcting the Word version. My co-worker and I have compared settings within RH, as well as how we add index terms to our topics. No answ
But the files are viewable on a server (we've tried two servers). Any ideas?
Upgraded to RH 10. We did initial testing w/Internet Explorer 8 and everything seemed fine. However, some users are now reporting problems. (Note: we do not control IE upgrades so we cannot just upgrade them to IE 10).I thought that we would have problems only if we used the multiscreen output but now I suspect IE 8 is the problem. Is there anything that can be done on my end to get the project to work in IE? If not, anything besides rebuilding to make project backwards-compatible w/RH9 again?

If use the expand / collapse feature is there a way to expand all within a topic? To Clarify - I have a topic and within that topics there are several sections, and within each section I collapse the information, so that when I want to see the information within that section I click on the section header and it will open up. If I want to expand all sections, is there a feature that I can use to expand all sections?
i am evaluating a trial version of Robohelp server with the primary purpose of getting usage statistics from an existing robohelp 9 site.Robohelp server has been successfully installed, and I have published the existing site to the general area of the server using webhelp pro. Robohelp server was installed on a Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server, and is configured to use the built in Access database.I have now opened the newly published site, done some navigation and searching, but when I go into Robohelp server admin and try to run some reports there is no data. Please advise on what could be causing this and how to best troubleshoot. Thanks.Ryan Fielden
When I generate and view my webhelp project now the navigation pane comes up showing the Index instead of the Contents. It used to show the Contents initally, but now it starts out with the index and I can't figure out what I changed, if anything, to cause this. How do I get the Contents to be the first thing you see in the Navigation pane? Thanks,RP
HiI have set a custom image strip for a CHM produced with RoboHelp 8.It seems that in Windows Server 2008 Operating system, such strip is ignored. Can anybody help me?Thank you
I want to create a Context sensitive Webhelp - one help topic for one page/function for web application. I'm using Robohelp 9 with Team Foundation Server 2012. I also have MSSCCI provider installed. I will be using unique ID (Map ID) or unique window names for mapping.Below are the details about what I have and my requirements:I have multiple module projects in Robohelp 9 integrated with Team Foundation Server 2012. I want to merge these projects to create one tree structure which will display all the functions same as application.Which are the files that I need to give to developer to integrate Web Help? What are the steps for linking and generating Webhelp in merged projevct? Can we do merging of ToC in merged project and extract the ToC (.hhc file) and use it in all modules projects just like merging chms and extracting ToC?What is the simplest way to do create the Webhelp? Can we use a single Robohelp project for large number of topics to avoid merging? Please suggest as soon as
is there any way to control the size (width especially) of an entire project? are master pages the answer? and if so, where should that be configured?i'd like to do away with the normal left-pane TOC display and create a thinner (horizontally) page, like Microsoft Word does, with their help system. i like that it's streamlined and not 'distracting' to the user.
I have searched all available doc and this is what I've tried:Linking to a Word 2010 doc with just the glossaryLinking to a Word 2010 doc with glossary appended to existing topic(For both of the above, I chose "convert glossary" in settings AND used unique Word paragraph styles not used anywhere else in my project--mapped one to glossary term and one to glossary definition.)What I got:In both cases, the glossary came through as a topic (or added to the existing topic when appended), but what am I failing to do to get the glossary to be recognized as a glossary?P.S. I hand entered one term and it generates just fine. However, in any of the settings locations where there's a choice to "Add to existing glossary" or "Create new," I notice that the "add" feature is grayed out. Is this a clue...or a random, unrelated issue?
I need to add a close command multiscreen HTML5 screen layouts that will work on multiple platforms and browsers. I have 3 screen layouts defined: Desktop, Tablet, Mobile. These are called by a responsive design web application and display based on the screen width of the platform calling the help. My problem is that there is a requirement to be able to close the help. To do this I have added the javascript code:</a> <a href="javascript:window.close()" class="wPrintButton"><img src="Close.png" alt="" class="wPrintButton" border="0" />in each of the layouts to allow the user to close the help browser tab/window.My Desktop layout is based on the stock desktop. I added this command Topic.slp and SearchResults.slp d just to the right of the Print icon.My Mobile lay out is based on the stock iPhone. I added this as an additional row in the homepage links to the Home.slp.My Tablet layout is based on t
I need expert help to resolve this issue. Hopefully, this issue will sound familiar to someone, and they can provide some guidance.Since I started using RH10 a few months ago, I have delved into the details of Multiscreen HTML5 only as much as was needed to get the work done. I have an issue that has me flustered. By default, I am building my help project for all platforms (iPad, iPhone, Desktop, etc.), with iPad selected as the Default. The iPad & Desktop help both work fine, no issues. However, when I open the index.htm file in the iPhone folder, it opens the table_of_contents.html screen, which contains nothing but a search field. Additionally, many of the html files (that are in the iPad folder) are not being built for the iPhone folder (missing). When I look at the other folders (kindle_fire, or android_galaxy_tab for example) the files are all there and they work fine. When I compare the HTML for the Table_of_Contents.htm files for ipad and iphone, they are identical except th
Hi guys.Getting an error on a Win 7 machine trying to open help (she has IE10). It gives the following error:"Object doesn't support property or method 'request'" and then the URL points to the whproxy.js file. It asks if we want to continuing running scripts, but won't accept either a yes or a no.This does not seem to be an IE10 issue - I have another machine on Win 8/IE 10 that opens fine. AND I have a computer with Win 7 and IE10 that opens fine, too.The WEIRDEST thing about this is the message refers to "Line 137, Char 17." But my "welcome" topic on the project is a simple one with only 26 lines of HTML code!Any ideas? Thanks!Chris
Hi Rh'ers,I am facing an issue with Bullets. Type of Output: CHMRH version: RH10 in TCS4OS: Win 7Following is the description:I have downloaded a .png and .gif Yellow Bullet image(Square bullet), as I wanted to use it for list of topics. The text inside the yellow bulleted dropdown(Create dropdown Hotspot and text) actually had numbered lines. But when I saw the same in output, the numbers were replaced by the yellow bullets. On clicking relate materials to jobs, a dropdown hotspot displayed the actual numbered bullets as yellow bullets. However in the preview mode, there were no issues.Note: I have covered the content, due to privacy issuesI tried many combinations:Without yellow bullet and just dropdown: worked fine - removed the yellow bullets and tried. With numbered format: worked fine - in place of yellow bullets i tired normal numbering. With default black (Square) bullet: worked fine I have to retain the yellow buton ONLY. Thats a prescribed method. Please let me know a solution
Hi all,for generating an uncompressed Java help with search function I need to configure the JDK path in the settings of the SSL. I have jdk1.7.0_45 installed but when I select the correct folder then simply nothing happens and the SSL settings are displayed again. To verify, if I select a different folder then RH displays an error message because the required files were not found. So evidently RH does find and recognize the JDK, but fails to generate the output. This in Win7 64bit, has anybody succeeded in setting up RH in this environment for java help?Robert
I am currently updating all the child projects in a merged RH8 webHelp. I prefer to work in a development directory on my hard drive and then transfer to my company's shared drive. Can I update the content of each child and create links within that child and then move the updated child to the shared drive using the proper merged help structure? At what point can I create the links between child projects? Do I generate the each child then create the links between child projects and then create the merged help? I am concerned that my directory structure is conveluted and I would like to simplify it with this update. I need some guidance on the best practice on how to order my tasks. Thank you in advance for any help you may offer.
Hello, I develop WebHelp using RH10 and have noticed that in my published output, linked PDF baggage files launch in the users' browser window rather than in Adobe Reader. Is this something I can control? This seems to be the case no matter how I set the options in the Hyperlink Properties dialog (Page Default, New Window. etc). Thanks,Mike
I'm creating help in HTML5, using RoboHelp 10. The information applies to eight related companies, which are all part of a bigger organization. I know that I could create a user-defined variable and generate the output eight times. But is there some function that could {insert company name here}, and the user would see his own company's name, based on the URL that he clicked? That way, I would only have to generate the help once. I know it's probably not possible, but I figured I'd let one of the experts here say that for sure!

I have Jave SE Development Kit 6 Update 3 installed on the computer that has RoboHelp 7 installed. The folder for the jdk is at C:\Program Files\JAVA\jdk1.6.0_03. However, when I try to compile my JavaHelp project, I get dialogs that Java 2 SDK is required to build compressed JavaHelp and full-text search. So, I then click "Locate Sun Java 2 SDK Install Folder" twice (once for compressed JavaHelp and once for full-text search) and navigate to the path mentioned above. RoboHelp does accept that path as the path with the JDK. However when I click Finish, RoboHelp 7 does not build the JavaHelp but again prompts me for the jdk path. It is stuck in a loop. RoboHelp X5 had no problems with my Java SE installation. I have set environment variables for "JHHOME", "JAVA_HOME", and added the C:\Program Files\JAVA\jdk1.6.0_03 path to my PATH variable, but it doesn't help. Does anyone know what RoboHelp 7 is expecting?
I am a RoboHelp10 newbie with two projects on the go, one inherited and one new. Placeholder content (breadcrumbs and Topic TOCs) is visible in Preview mode (Ctrl+W) in the inherited project, but not in the new project. They don't show in Firefox/IE Preview either. All other content/formatting seems to preview just fine. MS_HTML_Help is the designated primary layout for both projects. Based on a post in this forum, I tried updating DHTML effects, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?I am assuming if they don't appear in Preview, they won't appear in the generated CHM. Correct? RESOLUTION: I finally fixed the problem with brut force by starting a new project and importing the HTML pages, etc. Even then, it took a few tries before it worked. Still don't know the underlying cause. Message was edited by: Steve@SSA on 16Nov2013

Everything was fine until I got to the topics after Book 3. At that point everything started to fail again. When I removed Topics C, D, etc. from the C
