Hi there,We now have > 15 child projects in our merged online help, each containing hundreds of topics. Each child project is a chapter in our WebHelp online help output. If a user opens a couple of topics in each project, the TOC can become difficult to navigate. Is it possible to add a button that enables users to collapse all of the open chapters / expand all of the closed chapters? We are using RoboHelp 10.Thanks a lot,Niamh
When I create RoboHelp HTML output of a project in Chinese, the characters in the index do not display correctly. This happens even when change my PC's locale to China. Everything else seems to display as it should, and the index itself looks fine in RoboHelp. Has anyone else found a solution to this problem, or even encountered it?
Hi,When i generate the multiscreen andriod output, uneccesary blanks space or line is added to paragraph or that word shifts to the next line. However the same appears fines in the robohelp project. Can any one please help me out .Thanks,Nutan
I am having trouble understanding the mapping that RH10 does to display to topic I identify as my default topic. I've studied the source code of index.htm and whnjs.htm to understand how it is supposed to work. When I publish my project, whnjs.htm maps to my default topic but index.htm doesn’t map to whnjs.htm. As a result, my generated project NEVER launches my default topic even though it displays correctly when previewed in the Generate function. When I asked the Adobe support tech to explain how this was suppsoed to work, he said that "someone smarter than me" would understand how.Unfortunately, I am the smartest guy I have access to, so I'd like to escalate this issue to someone who 1) understands how it works and 2) is willing to pass the knowledge along to me.Thank you!
Hi, I have used Robohelp 8 to create help file. The webhelp output can be perfectly seen in IE 7 OR 8. However, in IE 10, when the start page in the webhelp folder is cliked, the TOC is opening but the topics are not getting displayed in the right pane. When we click a topic from the TOC pane, no topic gets displayed. Please suggest a solution ASAP, as we have sent the help to a client. They are are facing an issue with the help. We have to fast fix this problem to avoid an escalation. Please respond with a fix to this problem. Please note we have used Robohelp 8 and viewing the webhelp output in IE 10.
Using IE 10, the helpfiles I made in RoboHelp 8 are not correctly displayed. When you click on a topic in the index at the left in the screen, an empty page appears. However, the context-sensitive help does work as normal: when you click on the help-icon on a page, the helptekst is shown correctly.I found a fix on the forum (by Willam van Weelden) for RoboHelp 9. This fix didn't work for RoboHelp8.Anyone knows a solution for RoboHelp8?Greetings,Gerdi
Hello. I am using RH 10. In our help system, I would like to add a feedback link to each topic. When the user clicks the link a feedback from opens. This feedback form should have the name of the topic or the file name (either one) that the user clicked the feedback link on. The name can display in a field or be hidden, we just need the information included when the user mails the feedback form. I know how to create the form and add the feedback link to the master page. A discussion here http://forums.adobe.com/message/2238475#2238475indicates that the topic or file name could be captured and passed to the feedback form. I have seen the grainge article about creating a simple email feedback form ( http://www.grainge.org/pages/snippets/mailto.htm) and it is helpful, but not exactly what I need. Has anyone used RH to do this, and if so, how? Tbanks for your help.
I recently inserted a large image (1979X1045 pixels) into my project. Aspect ratio is maintained. When generating the project, rather than have a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the page, the image's height and width is scaled so that it can be viewed entirely on the screen,Any idea how I can get robohelp to maintain the image's original size? Recently we moved from webhelp to multi-screen HTML5 help. Just out of curiousity, I inserted the image into the old webhelp and generated the project. The image came out fine, and the height and width were maintained. Any idea, which setting in my project is responsible for this? I am using the desktop knowledge with homepage layout.I am attaching a screenshot. Don't know how helpful it is, but the large white area to the left is the TOC pane.Yehoshua Paul
Hi,I'm using RH 9.0.2.271, Webhelp, Zoom SearchAmong the many gifts IE10 has given me, I have acquired an extra scrollbar when displaying the documentation in IE10. This vertical scrollbar appears to the outside right of my content page. When the content pane correctly requires a scrollbar, I now have 2, and inside one (correct) and an outside one (not correct). The 2nd outside scrollbar becomes INACTIVE when I switch to compatibility view in IE10, but it is still there! How can I get rid of this annoying scrollbar, active or inactive, for once and for all?Things I've tried to do to elimate this extra outside scrollbar:1. Turned off the skin thinking my buttons are now too large when displayed in IE10. Nothing would surprise me. No change.2. Change the magnification of IE ; zoomed in/out. No change.3. Asked a colleague to test. No change. 4. Played with the TOC pane size. No change.5. For fun, eliminated the white space on the home page. The scrollbar appears even
Hello,I was not able to activate RoboHelp6 that I'm installing in a new laptop.I need your help.
Hello!I'm using RoboHelp 9. When I try to generate Primary Layout (WebHelp), my books and topics don't display. The Contents, Index, Search, and Glossary do (even though nothing happens when you click them), but the rest of the screen is blank. I have included a screenshot.Does anyone know what could be wrong? It worked a few weeks ago when I last generated it, and I don't think I've made any changes... so I am at a total loss.
I am using RoboHelp Server 9 to allow users of RoboHelp HTML v9 to publish too. There has been nothing but problems with the server component since the beginning of time. Basically all functionallity of the server works as described except for the fact it crashs periodically throughout the day. Below I will describe with detailed explination of my setup here...Also, the problems only appears during the day when load on the server is greater than in the evening. The server will run all night without load just fine, but in the morning 45 minutes into the day it goes unresponsive... 😞Operating System Specifications:Windows 2008 Server R2 64bit16GB MemoryJava v1.6.0_37 64bitTomcat v7 64bitOracle Database Enterprise 64bitAdobe RoboHelp Server 64bitTomcat server seems to run OK for 60-90 minutes and then starts to hang and become unresponsive. After a lot of stopping and starting the Tomcat service for weeks I started to use JConsole to monitor the Tomca
Is it possible to fetch data from a table in the database and generate help content (displaying table fields) in RoboHelp HTML version 10?
Someone has worked on a webhelp project using robohelp, but now I am taking it over. Is there a way to transfer or import her work so that I can work on it, so I don't have to start from scratch and copy her work?
I have created my own .css file and have changed the expanding hotspot character style. When I create the expanding hotspot using DHTML> create expanding hotspot (or something like that, don't have the app in front of me because it doesn't run on a Mac {what's up with that?}) my expanding hot spot character style doesn't get applied. Instead, the normal style gets applied.I have to use the style drop-down box to get it to apply which doesn't make sense because it's not a paragraph style. Can't figure out how to say "Expanding hot spot, use the expanding hot spot character style"
Using RH10, HTML to generate HTML help (.chm file). First line indent for bullet incorrect:Using the ruler in design view, and the indents appear to be correct:The style descriptions is as follows:The CSS is:Any suggestions as to how I can get my first line indent to work correctly?Thank you!
I opened my project in RH10 and upgraded it. Now when it opens, there is no choice for Multiscreen HMTL5 either in the Project Settings or in the Singe Source Layout panel. The project was previously generated/published using WebHelp but the whole idea was to be able to move it to Multiscreen layouts. Any suggestions?
A user has deleted the local roboholp project folder with checked out files. (Robohelp HTML Version 9.0) The files are published as a webpage so the content is in HTML files - is there a way to get the content back in Robohelp? And how can I check-in her files (there is not option in Source Control (Version 3.1.), although I have administrative rights)Thanks for any help.
Hello thereI have been linking a RH project to FM files, crated TOCs, Indexes... all's fine except for one thingI'm trying to generate browse sequences automatically from the TOCs. However, when I try to do so, the browse sequence navigator remains empty once I've chosen my root-TOC and the TOC levels to use. I cannot find out what I'm doing wrong. Moreover, i can see available browse sequences in the browse-sequence editor window. But they are order alphabetically, which makes it impossible to add them manually to my project's browse sequence, as they are not ordered by my task levels. Is there another way to order them ? Any hint would be greatly appreciatedThanks a lot.
I am running a very small (1 topic) project to test out RH10. After generating and getting the yellow bar warning at the top, I added Mark of the Web and re-generated. Then my IE8 page just flashed over and over again until I hit Cancel and looked at the errors:Webpage error detailsUser Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/4.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; InfoPath.2; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)Timestamp: Thu, 5 Sep 2013 18:00:49 UTCMessage: Invalid characterLine: 1Char: 1Code: 0URI: file:///C:/Users/forbesh/Documents/rh10generate/desktop/whver.jsMessage: Invalid characterLine: 1Char: 1Code: 0URI: file:///C:/Users/forbesh/Documents/rh10generate/desktop/whutils.jsMessage: Invalid characterLine: 1Char: 1Code: 0URI: file:///C:/Users/forbesh/Documents/rh10generate/desktop/whmsg.jsMessage: Invalid characterLine: 1Char: 1Code: 0URI: file:///C:/Users/forbesh/Documents/rh10generate/desktop/whstub.j
Hi there,I'm using Adobe Robohelp HTML 8.0.2.208I opened my WebHelp project today and noticed I have a missing baggage file, simply titled "none".When I right-click on it, the delete option is not there. When I click Properties, all it tells me is that it is named "none", and Location, Size, Created, and Modified are all (Unknown). Clicking the "Open Folder" button simply takes me to my source folder. My project has no broken links of any sort. I checked my index, TOC, references, everywhere. The project (to the best of my knowledge) is flawless. I even went overkill and made sure all my pages are W3C validated.I searched the forums and web trying to find someone with the same or at least similar problem, and I found tips on add/remove baggage files by editing the rhbag.apj file in notepad or similar editing program. So I opened the file and I see a basic xml tree with only two references; one to my RoboHHRE.lng file, and one to this mysterious "none" file.So I removed lines 9 through 13
I want to add a font in RH9. I have added the following test to the rhfontset file:<fontset> <name>HelveticaNeueLT Std</name> <fontlist>HelveticaNeueLT Std</fontlist> </fontsetI save the file and go back into my project but the new font is not there. Is there anything further I may need to do? Thank you for any help you can provide.nankinnankin
I am updating the MBDB manual using RoboHelp. This manual consists of 9 projects that are merged into 1 (or over 16,000 documents total). For each project I open it, add new or make revisions to the documents within and generate the document. It is the generate process that is taking so long. They should take between 5-10 minutes to generate and some of these take 30+ minutes to generate.
We have a Robohelp 9 project (created with RoboHelp HTML 9.0.1.262 and FrameMaker 10 in TCS 3.5).We need to generate Eclipse help for multiple languages. The project generates multiple eclipse_whtdata files, 8 for English for instance. Our problem is, in the generated eclipse helps for other languages, the amount of the eclipse_whtdata file varied from 5(Chinese) to 10(French). One thing I can sure, is the amount of the topics in different languages are all the same. It seems Robohelp automatically split the contents into sevral eclipse_whtdata files in generated helps. But we need to make the amount of the eclipse_whtdata file in target languages somehow the same with in English help. Thank you for any help or pointers you can provide.Hunter
TCS 2RH 8.0.2.208FM 9.0p255On importing a document with hypertext markers from FrameMaker to Robohelp, the hypertext extends to the entire sentence/paragraph.Example: "Source: Facebook Glossary" is the phrase with the hyperlink. On import into Robohelp, the entire definition of the term becomes a hyerlink as well. The closing </a> tag is at the end of the paragraph. Is there a workaround for this, or am I simply missing something? Thanks in advance,Nima
