I have a subscription to the Substance apps and was able to download all of them except Modeler. That one is not showing up in the available apps list. Is this becasue I am on a Mac? Or is there something else I need to do to download it.
Hello everyone!Is it possible to change the lighting inside of Modeler? I find my objects are too bright/washed out even after exporting the Vertex color in Linear space.
When I try to create and end up successfully creating any model, Steam VR gets launched automatically. What could be the possible solution for this?
I was painting up close on a finished 3D model and since I am new to the controls still, I held Control and Alt and panned the model away and then scrolled in a way that I could no longer find my model. This was exceptionally frustrating and I can't believe there's not even a "reset view" or "recenter view" in the View dropdown menu, or ever a shortcut. I wish I could have figured out how to recenter around my model after spending a half hour on it as a prototype.
I have the Steam version of Substance 3D Modeler 2023, and I can run it in the default Right Handed Configuration. However, if I enable Left Handed Mode, when I start in VR, the controllers are stuck at the 0,0,0 location. There is no tracking and the buttons are unresponse. Being left handed, the app is completely useless to me. If anyone else has encountered this, were you able to get it resolved? And how?
Hi,This program is unusable for me since it use 100 pct. of my integrated GPU and 80 pct. of my RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU. There's no way to set any useful parameters. I have never seen a program taking up up to 100 pct. of ressources on both GPU's at the same time but this one does. Restart and closing other programs etc. didn't do a thing. It seems more like a beta version and not a true release. Hans
I'm a game developer and I want to know how Substance 3D Modeler compares to Blender. Can I use it to create assets like characters or items that can be imported into Unity or Unreal Engine?
I have full creative cloud subscription and work with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Substance Painter on an iMac and a MacBookPro. I have just started paying a second subscription for the Substance 3D suite. Substance 3D Modeler only runs on Windows - for the Oculus headset.But when I try to run Modeler on Windows machine it wants me to log out of Creative cloud on one of my Macs - this might be OK if the Substance 3D software was actually part of the CC subscription, but it is not and cost extra.
Just because I see people having issues and not being able to use this software. Check your crash dumps, most likely located at C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Modeler\LogsYou can open these with notepad.Check if there's anything that looks like this, "Vulkan verify failure (-3) at line 1871 of C:\j\md-retail\mediuminitial\Clay\code\render\src\Vulkan\programregistryVulkan.cpp"If yes, it may be repeated more than a few times. Open CMD by holding the windows key and pressing R, type CMD and hit enter.Type "vulkaninfo" into the CMD window without the quotes, a whole pile of stuff, which is the technical term should appear. Hi to all.I have just bought a mini pc with AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and AMD Radeon Vega 8.Modeler doens't start, because it requires a discrete GPU and not integrated one.I'm not into windows pc. I buy it just for use with Substance software.So, my gpu is integrated? It's not possible to use Modeler with it? Could I hope in future upgrades?Please, advice me. Mario
Hello - I am considering 3D Modeler for some simple projects but can't currently use the free trial because my graphics card does not meet the specifications. If Modeler can do what I want I will upgrade my graphics card, but thought I would get input here first. I use the full Adobe CC apps daily for for graphic design, image processing, and 2D technical drawings for brochures, instruction manuals, etc. Occasionally I could use some basic 3D models and I would be very intersted to know if 3D modeler can do this. Is it possible to use real world measurements to model objects? All of the demo videos i see are for fantasy objects / toys with people just creating freehand with no actual accuracy in placement and spacing. I'd need objects to be exactly X by Y by Z dimensions with specific thickness and have holes drilled at specific locations and trim at specific widths, etc. Is this possible to feed in actual measurements? Um das zu realisieren möchte ich zuert ein 3D Modell 1:1 erstellen. Jetzt habe ich in Adobe reingeschaut und gesehen dass x verschiedenen Programme gibt um das zu realisieren. Hi Team, I recently installed Adobe Substance 3D modeler tool (version 1.0.0+eb19b162.37-1.0.0+20220927.t.37.win.x64.cc.eb19b16) on a new Windows 11 PC ( Yes, new PC are sold with Windows 11 only ), I cannot get the "Eraser" - swept sphere tool to work after watching the tutorial video multiple times, it just doesnt do anything.I have problem with a few other tools as well. I cannot tell whether it is because I am too new to this tool, or these things don't function well on Windows 11.
How long will Mac users over pay for Substance subscription due to lack of Modeler for Mac?
I have the new release version of of 3D modelor. When I try to launch I get a white screen with heading that sits for a bit then closes. No message. The log file says the Radeon is recognized and running discrete mode. Fails to load startup screen seems to be the last entry. System is I9 processor, Raydeon 589x with vram 8gb system ram 128gb.Running fully updated Windows 10.This is a bootcamped Apple iMac 27. Log file attached. Is there any hope?
I've always been interested in learning VR / 3D modeling but I have a few questions about this product? Honestly, I cannot imagine standing all day with a VR headset building assets all day.2. What VR tool was used to do these demos? Was it Valve's VR headset or was this reflected to a large display? 3. Do you have proof that someone can be as productive on VR as a desktop? I wonder if you create detailed assets with these VR wands. Anyone that does this work now / daily, I would be thrilled to hear from you?

We can save project as Modeler Scene or Shaper Scene? What is difference between this two? Can find any info in documentation. Is this a new feature?

Hi there, wanted to ask if there are updates coming, so this application will also be available on MacOS?Also tried to get this working via Parallels, but the Installer says that the file is corrupt. Anyone news on this or tips how to get this working in Parallels?
I installed Beta .10.2 (latest download). I've been in 3D CGI for 20 years, and this app is just a fail!Basically nothing functions right. I don't where to begin. I used ZBrush, Mudbox, Maya, little bit of Blender Sculpt. But Substance Modeler is a fail.I fail to see the logic in work flow. It should be simple, straightforward. Intuituve. Substance modeler is none of those.First issue OBJ and FBX import does work with UNC server paths! Importing FBX or OBJ geometry results in nothing. Yep S3D tells me MeshImported, but the scene is empty. OR 'Invalid File Path' after selecting the geometry to import. When importing from conventional letter paths , some OBJ and FBX geometry is brought in. Many simply report 'MeshImported" but the geometry is not in scene. When it does import the Y vertical axis (Maya, Houdini) is swapped with Z axis, resulting in incorrect alignment. Creating geometry from scratch.Weird head scratcher this is, when it should simple.
