How can I render transparent background video with my composition?

Community Beginner ,

I use after effect CC 2019, media encoder CC 2019 and premiere pro CC 2019.

I made text with some effect by after effect to use lyric of my cover song.

Since it is my first use of after effect, I found rendering method on Youtube.

For older version, many guides use 'QuickTime' format and H.264 codec, and choose RGB+alpha channel for transparent background.

But there is no H.264 codec in my list (CC 2019), even if I choose QuickTime format.

Someone said Adobe do not support H.264 codec for now.

Someone render their composition with Media encoder CC 2019, because media encoder has H.264 codec setting.

But I don't know how can I render my composition with transparent background.

maybe there is 2 possible option to solve my problem.

1) use other proper format or codec in after effect. then use RGB+alpha channel rendering to make transparent background.

2) find the method for rendering transparent background video with media encoder CC 2019.

please guide me.

H264 output, whether in a QuickTime or MP4 container, has never supported the embedding of an alpha channel.

Thr easiest way currently is to is to use the AE Render Queue and select the Lossless With Alpha output module preset. on a Mac, this will create a QuickTime Animation file. On a Windows machine it will create a Lossless AVI (I think, haven’t done it on Windows for a while. )

you can also also manually create similar presets in AME. The most common formats for video with alpha are currently QuickTime Animation and QuickTime Prores 4444.

now I use 'Quicktime' preset with 'animation' codec.

I have a question for your recommendation of Lossless preset with Alpha output.

Doesn't it too heavy for a lyric text file?

I rendered 10 sec of text effect output with lossless format, and it had 7 GB.

Did I use bad preset for this? (Or is there any other proper preset of lossless format?)

If you want an alpha channel, you're going to have big rendered file sizes.  That's why most people don't do what you're doing.  Instead, they plan out the backgrounds they want for their text.
