Unwarranted price rise in Australia - Jan 2025

I just received an email from Adobe notifying me that the monthy price of Creative Cloud All Apps 100GB is increasing "from A$79.99/month to A$96.99/month". The reason cited is (allegedly) "to offset fluctuations in currency exchange rates". Sorry Adobe, but you are disingenuous.

Here are the facts:

Since the previous price increase of CC in January 2023, the value of the Australian dollar compared to the US dollar has decreased 12.70%. However, this latest CC price increase is 21.25% for the same 2-year period. So, the 8.55% margin has nothing to do with exchange rate fluctuations. It is purely PRICE GOUGING!

I'm now in the process of migrating all my current work to DaVinci Resolve, and I'll soon be dropping Adobe like a stone.

I talked to two people from accounts, explaining our situation ( a small not for profit ), but they stayed firm on the no discount offer.

That's not their wheelhouse.  Adobe & other software makers partner with TechSoup -- a marketplace for eligible non-profits, charities & libraries. See link below.

Hope that helps.

It's not just Australia that's being hit with this unjustifiable cost hike by the looks of it. I'm in the the education edition 100gb All apps plan and mines going from $21.99 AUD a month to $55.99 AUD.

Suffice to say I'll have to migrate to another provider now.

you probably lost your student status because supporting documents weren't received.

I didn't lose the status, it has increased in cost across the board, even the education package.

Adobe you have really disappointed me. I just received the same price increase email and.... Not happy!!!!

I have been with Adobe since 1996 and I can only imagine how much that has cost me, but am trying really hard not to think about it. I use InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro plus others, every day of the week and have done since the beginning of time. What is your problem?

Seriously Adobe, what has happened to LOYALTY? If the shoe was on the other foot I am sure that your company would feel as violated as I do right now.  So, as 'the outward spiral' has rightly pointed out, Australians are about to be ripped off.  My Creative Cloud All Apps 100GB subscription was $87.99 and is now $96.99. If I wasn't smart enough to know better, I'd say that sounded like a Trump Tariff, or do you really want Australia to single handedly pay for your AI development?

Please start considering your long term loyal customers before we all find another option and turn our backs on you.

This does seem an unreasonably high jump up in price. The alternative plan options also seem unreasonable, so there's not a lot of options to reduce the price, so I can imagine a lot of people will be dropping out

Hi Shivangi

Like the rest of Australians using Creative Cloud - we pay 50% more than you do in the US

Currently US subscriptions start at 59.99 USD - Thats about $96 Australian

I just checked my account
- Last month you charged me $144 .99 + $3.24 foreign fee
( because you're based in Ireland for tax evasion I guess?)

Since Feb 24 - thats 1 year - Its gone from $119.99 to $131.99 to $144.99

Adobe doesn't care about their customers at all!!

No news there.

I have been using Adobe products since their inception.

I have spent thousands and thousands buying versions outright

only to have Adobe disable them when they went to subscription model.

Since subscription I have spent thousands and thousands.

I get a company has to make money - but gouging Australians - when the entire process is online now

and there is no physical copy - is the ultimate insult.

I like many other will be converting to other programs that value our business.

Shivangi - tell Adobe - to stop gouging Australians - or expect an exodus.

Thanks

Me too! Agree with the above. I have a side photography business. About one wedding every 2 months and occasional family and school photography. So it's a shoestring budget. The price for monthly subs about to change from $14.29 to $23.99 so its goodbye lightroom. Thanks for the memories!
