Acrobat Reader

I like highlighting when I'm studying. I noticed that, now, every time I highlight something, Acrobat Reader automatically switches from the highlighting tool to the text selection tool, forcing me to click on the highlighting tool again. This is quite annoying, I'm pretty sure it didn't do that before. Is there a configuration I need to change to stop this behavior?

I’ve tried multiple times to download Reader to my new Surface Pro 11 and whichever way I try it ends up with “Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL”. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Adobe Acrobat Readerのインストールができません。適切なインストーラーをダウンロードして起動したところインターネットに接続されているにもかかわらず、インターネットに接続されていませんというエラーが出ました。再試行も行ったのですが「接続エラー」となりインストールができませんでした。 先週までは何事もなくインストール出来ていたのでAdobe Acrobat Readerについてのアップデートを調べたところ、昨日（2/12）にあったようで、それが関係しているのではないかと考えています。 インストールを完了したいので解決方法等のアドバイスをいただきたいです。

We deploy Acrobat with many registry keys from the Preference Reference page to disable features we do not want. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way to disable these two features which advertise mobile apps to our users - which isn’t something we can have in our environment.  This is on the latest version, 25.001.21184.  The first option has a registry key, but it doesn’t seem to work. This is the “app center” at the top of the screen (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Windows/FeatureLockDown.html#idkeyname_1_11794). Setting the registry key here doesn't make a difference.   The other ad is for the Acrobat mobile apps. We can disable this with an HKCU setting but there’s nothing lockable within HKLM which makes this difficult to package for our environment.  Are there any methods to remove these from the interface? We can't deploy Acrobat without having these sorted. 

I have a windows 10 all in one desktop computer.  I cannot open or read any PDF files.  I have tried turning off my Norton Security firewall and that does not resolve the issue.  The error message is very generic:  Application Initialization Error.  I have also tried to installing using Google Chrome but receive the same error message.  Microsoft said they cannot help me.  Adobe doesn't offer phone support for Adobe Reader.  Can someone please tell me what I can do to get this resolved??? It is extremely frustrating!

The threads I’m seeing on this are some 15 years old, so.. here we go. Again.  Exploding with rage, because Adobe has managed to kill 3 more hours of productivity today.Stupidly upgraded to the disaster that is called paid version of Acrobat.  Quickly uninstalled, subscription cancelled.Then I went to reinstall Reader and there’s no box to decline McAfee. (Nor is there a way to STOP the installation process, aside from CTRL-ALT-DEL, which I engaged in a panic.)Is there no way to  install without McAfee these days?  If so, please list your fav alternate pdf reader. Thanks to the community. Middle finger (as usual) to Adobe.

Hello everyone,for the past few weeks (possibly since the January Windows Update), we have been getting the following error message randomly when opening different PDFs:'The font ArialMT cannot be found or created'.It doesn't matter whether the PDF file is being opened on a network share or locally.Once the user clicks 'OK', the error disappears after reopening the same file.Affected users so far: 50 Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.7623) Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2025.001.21111 Continous ReleaseAny help would be appreciate Message displayed (german) 

For the past couple of months many of our users have been having an error pop up regarding fonts. Apparently Adobe won’t provide any form of assistance unless you pay for their services so hopefully the community can do better than them.The company goes through massive amounts of PDFs (and has started to digitize their physical files) so errors like these can be very troublesome.I have no idea why this is happening… I assumed it was related to the latest version of Adobe Reader so I stopped updating the application on the users computers. The problem is not listed on the known issue list for Adobe Reader… The only thing I found online was for users to make sure the option Use Local Fonts was checked under the Page Display settings however I guess that option no longer exists or I am blind…. I confirmed the two fonts are installed on the computer and they work with Microsoft word without any issue.Everybody is using windows 11 25H2. Hope you guys can help.

I have multiple users who are getting both of the following errors:Cannot find or create font 'ArielMT'. Some characters may not display or print correctly. A Drawing Error OccuredAttempted to do the following:Repairing Adobe Installing the missing font Deleting preferences in AppData Uninstalling/Reinstalling Adobe ReaderAdobe Reader is up to date. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried to install Acrobat Reader (DC) from the Windows store and also from downloads. Both are not successful. Only have the standard windows native antivirus. Does create an empty folder in program files x86. But nothing runs. Also nothing showing Add Remove Programs and nothing in the start menu. I then tried to do the same on a new user on the the same machine, and install fails again. Already tried system restore, and it was a new build. Maybe Adobe has a problem? Suggestions? Thanks! 

Hello! Recently we have had a user encounter an error when using Adobe Acrobat Pro that states the following: Cannot find or create the font ‘Helvetica’. Some characters may not display or print correctly. I have manually ensured that this user has all Helvetica-related fonts installed on their device, and verified that other users are not having this issue when opening this document, so i’m unsure what else to do.  I have also repaired and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Since installing KB5074109 the WebBrowser component can no longer load PDF’s within applications utilising Windows WebBrowser component.Instead of displaying Adobe and the PDF in the browser a grey screen appears and the Adobe Acrobat Reader process is launched but appears to not do anything.Users are using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (2025.001.21111, although had a previous version when logged).As a work around we currently disable the add-in in Internet Options which provides users with a popup to Open or Save the PDF instead.I was monitoring threads https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/issues-with-adobe-dc-reader-after-windows-11-update-kb5074109/td-p/15665887 and https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/pdf-documents-not-loading-after-june-8th-on-64-bit-web-browser-control-web-app/td-p/12121363 (Although 4 years old had responses this week which included one saying it was being investigated by developers) but it appears since yesterday the com

As of today 10/02/2025, after doing a "quick print" from my Outlook email, the adobe app stays open and on my screen after printing. I do quick print many times a day from my email and this is so annoying and a hassle. I've checked for an update and there are none right now, must be a bug. Please fix this! Thank you

I am sorry to disturb again the community but i still cannot install Acrobat Reader on my PC (Win 11 Surface Pro).I am using the official download from Adobe web site, installation starts and finishes successfully but NO Acrobat Reader is installed on the PC.I tried this over and over again. I also used Adobe cleaner to make sure that no garbage from prior installations remain on the PC but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.Many thanksDinos

When filling up the form at https://get.adobe.com/reader/licenseform for permission to distribut Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, the options of operating system do not include Apple Silicon macs, only Mac OS Intel and Mac OS PPC.Given the fact that Apple computers are on their Silicon architecture, is this permitted though it is not explicity stated?The “Authorized Operating Systems” section in the agreement mentions that OSes selected are nonetheless a part of those listed at https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/system-requirements.html which mentions “M1 Apple Silicon processor”. Does that mean that computers with the Apple M1 chip are covered, and the Acrobat Reader software can be distributed to them, even though the license does not state it?Hope to hear from someone in Adobe licensing on this.Thanks.

Hi, i am having trouble opening a pdf file a second time. It will open initially but if i try again it says it is damaged or not correctly decoded?   This has only started happening fairly recently so not sure what’s happening.  Anybody know why and how to fix this?

This has happened to me maybe 15 times in the past month. I'm on Windows 10 Home version 1909. I use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 2020-009-20074. I have three different "input methods" (i.e., keyboards, or "preferred languages") set up. When I'm typing inside a comment bubble and press Left Alt + Left Shift to switch between keyboards, Reader often freezes. This doesn't happen every single time, but it does happen frequently. The only solution is to close the program and to start it up again, which often results in loss of recent work.I have three sets of dump files ready to share. I can link to them here unless doing so will compromise my security. (I don't know what they contain.)

Everything was working fine when I was using the free Adobe reader.  We intalled Adobe Acrobat Pro yesterday and now the "Print in Grayscale" box doesn't work.  I have to go into my printer settings and change it to mono.  It doesn't even work when auto color is selected.  I really shouldn't have to go deep into printer settings every time I need to change from color to grayscale.  This problem only occurs in Adobe.   Is there a way to fix this or work around?

I downloaded and installed Reader several times on my new laptop. Each time, I received confirmation of download and install, but app is not in my Program Files folder, nor findable in my Start function, nor in control panel Apps management - I can’t open it because it seems it’s not there. The installer file disappears from my Downloads folder when installation is complete. The whole app seems to vanish! This is my personal laptop (Windows 11), and I am an Administrator. Tried AcroCleaner and it didn’t help. Any ideas what's happening?
