Acrobat Reader

I work with medical billing documents regularly, so I often have to review and organize a large number of PDF files.I’m curious how other Acrobat Reader users keep their documents manageable when there are many files to review. Naming files properly and keeping folders organized helps, but I’m always interested in finding simpler ways to work with PDFs.What Acrobat Reader features or habits help you most when dealing with a large number of documents?I’d especially like to hear tips for searching, reviewing, organizing, or sharing PDFs efficiently.

The linked pdf file was created in latex, and displays correctly (with the dark blue blackboard background) in Acrobat. However, the background disappears in Reader.https://www.motionmountain.net/Quantum_2025.pdf AI does not help.How can one solve the situation? 

I use Adobe Printer as my default PDF printer, but as soon as I print a document the Adobe Printer’s default paper size settings revert back to “letter” in stead of staying on A4 after it was saved. 

Is it possible to split PDF files withAcrobat Reader? If yes, I would like to know if there is a feature that allowsto name each file automatically while splitting the files.  For example, if I have a file of 10 pages ( which contains invitation with names of10 different persons) and I split each page to one file (total of 10 PDF files- one file for each person) and I would like for each file to be named by the person'sname, is there a customized feature that can assist with naming each PDF file(instead if numbering each PDF file)? 

OK, this is getting no response at all from Adobe, so I am going to ask this question again as, while one of the 2 other posts on this subject says “answered” it is NOT answered. So, I am going to open a 3rd post on this subject to see if someone at Adobe will care to comment. ALL of the links in Reader open in Edge and not the default browser (Chrome in my case). When I say all, I mean even the help links like the link I opened to get to this forum (yes, I’m in edge now just trying to get the real answer) and the one in the image below:And yes, I have tried EVERYTHING referenced in all the attempts to fix this when you Google the issue. NOTHING fixes this “bug”, but surely someone out there knows how to fix this so we can all get on with life. Thanks - John

9/24前後より、タイトルの現象が頻発している。インストールの修復や、保護の無効化といった事は試したものの解消せず。そこで検証のため、インストール済みのReader(バージョン2026.002.21931)をクリーナーツールを使用して削除。プログラムと機能でもアプリが削除されたことが確認できたが、少し時間経過でReader 32bit版のインストーラーが立ち上がりインストールを試みることが判明 サービスを確認すると、他の製品は使用していないため本来であれば削除されているAdobeUpdateserviceが残っておりこのサービスが繰り返し更新プログラムのインストールを試みているように感じるが、タイミング的にセキュリティアップデート付近ということから、同様のトラブル報告はありませんか？また、解消する場合、どのような対応で復旧しますか。 環境　Win11（25H2）、セキュリティソフト Trendmicro社ApexOne

I have several PDF files that I used to be able to open, but now, they are asking for a password. I did not create a password for any of these files. Has anyone encountered this problem before? If so, how do I resolve it? Thank you.

How do I removed a password protected, when I do not know my password

When viewing a document (native page size of 17.00 x 11.00 in) at 100% zoom, the right edge of the page is hidden behind the tool bar and cannot be moved into view. This does not seem to occur at other zoom level. As the entire page should have the ability to be viewed at any zoom level, I assume this is a bug. We use desktop PCs with multiple monitors (2 or 3) and Windows 11. Windows has a feature that it tries to remember on which monitor was app running last time it was closed, and when you open it again it will launch on that same monitor. But this feature doesn’t work properly with Adobe Reader, and since monday it’s kinda broken. Let me explainUser1: three monitors side by side, center is main. User opens some pdf that he never opened, it opens on center monitor. He moves the window to left monitor and closes it. He opens again the same pdf and it opens on the left monior. He closes it and opens different pdf that he never opened before. It opens on center monitor. He moves it to right monitor, closes it and openes again. It opens on right monitor. PRIOR TO A FEW DAYS AGO (APPROX) I WAS ABLE TO USE THE HIGHLIGHTER WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. AFTER THE RECENT UPDATE (2026.002.21901) THE HIGHLIGHTER NO LONGER WORKS. I’VE VERIFIED THE OPACITY IS SET TO 0% AND THE COLOR SELECTED IS NOT WHITE.THE HIGHLIGHTER ACTS THE SAME AS BEFORE; IT JUST NO LONGER HIGHLIGHTS (SEE ATTACHED).I USE THIS TOOL EVERYDAY - ALL DAY AND THIS IS REALLY AN ISSUE.ISSUES WITH THE LINE TOOLS MENTIONED IN MULTIPLE POSTS ALSO STARTED AROUND THE SAME TIME. I am extremely frustrated with how many hoops and difficulties I have had every step of the way to download, read, and edit this file. I finally have it filled out, but I have no option to validate or sign it in any way. I am at my wits end trying to find updated or recent fixes to the issues I am having. Good afternoon,I have a form I’m building that brings mapped fields from our Core system into the PDF.  One of those fields is an interest rate (AP_1_INTEREST_RATE).  This field comes in from the core as the number and a % sign, i.e. 1.99%.  That would be great, however, the line on the PDF that it is populating on has a static % sign already, so on the form it looks like 1.99%%.  I cannot for the life of me figure out how to strip the % from the mapped field (AP_1_INTEREST_RATE).  I also have the field format as NONE so it isn’t gaining the % because of the way I have it formatted, it’s coming from the core that way.   Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am a novice and just can’t figure this out. I know how to ADD things but can’t figure out how to remove them.   Any help would be appreciated!

Today when I try to use Adobe Reader I get a pop-up about installing Adobe Express Photos. I have a practice of never clicking on pop-ups, but I cannot close the window or use escape to close the window. The only thing I can do is go to TasK Manager and end task. How do I get rid of this annoying pop up. At this point I cannot use Adobe Reader.

Hi, I'm using Windows (Windows 11 Home, version 22H2) and have been facing this issue that when I open a PDF document using Acrobat Reader (version 2023.006.20380 64-bit), the Windows taskbar doesn't show anymore. I use the auto hide option for the Windows taskbar and it works with all softwares/apps perfectly fine, but when I use Acrobar Reader, it doesn't rise up to show from hiding - making switching between softwares/apps annoying as I have to minimise the Acrobat Reader screen everytime before I can do it. I checked in Views, it doesn't seem to be on either the Read mode or the Full screen mode. Any direction on this would be helpful - ideally, I'd like to use the auto-hide Windows taskbar with Acrobat Reader as well. Many thanks for your time in advance.

I want to prevent Adobe from automatically opening PDF files I download from Microsoft Edge.  The suggested solution is to use CTRL+K to open Preferences and then uncheck the box titled  “Always open PDFs downloaded from the web”.  However, the screenshot below shows that this option does not exist for me at all.  Please help. 

 Using old snapshot tool I could hold down L mouse button, drag the cursor down the page. I could capture a bigger and clearer snapshot. Now I have a giant cursor & crosshairs, and page will not scroll down.

Hi,What keyboard shortcut or keystrokes can I use to choose a folder in the Save As window in Reader? I can only seem to use a mouse which is annoying.The AI Chat Bot on the Adobe website said arrow keys can be used but they just move the document behind the window until I click on the pop up window. In that case, I might as well continue clicking straight on the most recent folder since 99.9% of the time I'm trying to save the document.Ideally, I'd like to be able to just save straight over the top of the existing file with one keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+S) but it seems like because I'm using the Sign feature on the the document first, both Save and Save As open the Save As window, which I then have to click on with the mouse before I can choose a folder with the keyboard.I've assumed the 'sign' feature is what's causing this, like the software doesn't allow you to save over the existing document without prompting if you've used it.

Hi,I have tried using the assistant but it wasn’t very helpful in this instance.We have multiple RDS hosts and user will report that Adobe has crashed.It produces an error "Something went wrong - A running instance of Acrobat has caused an error". I have created a DMP file I would like to submit to support but I am unable to find how to do this.Is someone able to point me in the right direction? Or I can provide a link to the DMP file if someone on here is able to review it.TIA.Rob
